Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Alfadas replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Welcome Ragvald! I have a question. I made a thread about the return of the Vikings, which can be found here. I was wondering if somebody here is willing to create a sort of challenge, in which all people who want can put MOCs in, and then we can decide the winners, and give the ideas to TLG, hoping they make it into an actual set. Is there anyone here who can do that? -
Would you like the Vikings theme to return?

Ed, I completely forgot to say I love the woman and kids. Same design, other colors. Just amazing. Now I want the vikings to return even more. But no female kids? -

I also would like that, but I am not the one to organize it. Maybe a new thread, made by someone more experienced then I am, someone who has contacts at TLG, so that they can make the winning sets. -
300 dollar for an 3200 piece set is pretty good, especially if it's a star wars set. I remember the death star with minifigs was 400 euros, for only 3800 pieces.

I am beginning to like that Luke more and more. I don't have the yellow Luke, and only 3 flesh Lukes, 1 being the stormtrooper. I am happy to get the "new" fig.

That are some cool looking figs you got there, ed209. I really like that berserker, the one with blue war paint. I would certainly want all of those figs. -

And make the helmets that way, it doesn't fall of all the time. Hair would look cool, the CMF viking woman has it, and it looks, imo, very good. -

A naval building challenge sounds great, although I am not sure if I am going to participate. I don't know how to build a boat, and I am not going to take my viking ship apart for the parts. -

Mind if I dream along? That idea is very good, but I don't think TLG would make banners. More vikings, more fun! -

A knarr with villagers, and some non-viking people they trade with? That would be cool, an early medieval harbor with viking ship. -

The fortress is indeed awesome. I don't know how many hours I was laying on the flour, shooting the catapults at everyone and everything. Mostly just vikings from other clans and dragons, later all the vikings against the crownies. Unfortunately I don't have the knights catapult, so they couldn't really siege it. Most of the time the vikings (on dragons) attacked the knights castle, with the double shot catapult. Awesome piece of artillery. But now we are speaking of awesome sets, which one is your favorite? Mine is the double catapult for the dragon, and the fortress for the set. -
I'd say red, because there already is a lot of black. That isn't a bad thing, I just think red would be a nice color breaker, especially as the town hall is an important building, it should stand out.

Looking good already! Is that Yooha's sigfig I see there?

Thanks! Guess I will have to wait a bit more then.

I was wondering when the 2014 Visual Dictionary comes out. It might already been answered, but I could't find it.

I looked it up on brickset.com, here are the sets from 2005, here from 2006. Vikings alongside KK ll. So, I don't know who is right now. Doesn't really matter anyway. The point is Vikings should return, and should not replace the castle line. -

If I am correct, the viking line didn't replace a castle line. The vikings were at the same time as the knight's kingdom ll. Maybe if TLG decides to make a new viking line, it will replace the current one. -
That is one awesome looking castle! Great work!

Well, it was only 7 sets , I got them all, they were the sets that really gotten me into Lego. Here is the brickset link. I remember it. It was 2005, summer. We (Mom, dad, sis and me) went to Legoland Billund for the first time. Vikings everywhere. I got the three small sets there, and the others followed quickly afterwards. Hours, no weeks of non-stop shooting the catapults, destroying the fortress, building it again, knocking vikings of their feet, kill the dragons (Nidhogg got beheaded so often, the head won't fit sturdy anymore). Great times that were. I was only 10 or 11 years old at that time. -
Just as the title says, would you like the vikings back? If yes, in what form? Like the last time with horned helmets and dragons and catapults? Or more realistic? I want them to be more realistic, with different helmets, different shield designs, of course the viking long ship, maybe a long house. And of course a lot of vikings, viking woman, kids, and more historical accurate stuff. I also don't mind the vikings comeback with the dragons and snakes and wolves, as long as they return! I love vikings! What is your opinion?

I have tried and tried, but there is no indication light anywhere. Here is the best result I got. Better?
-
Thanks! No, there isn't a light. And the lens is clean, there are a few scratches on it. The light is no problem. I just got permission to use the hobby table of my mom, she doesn't use it, and there is a nice lamp above it. Not natural light, but it's something.

I photographed an orc commander and Alfadas, and I am really happy how Alfadas turned out. The orc commander is still a bit blurry, Alfadas is just a bit dark. Otherwise he is pretty sharp, not blurry at all.
