I realize it is late. I've been AWOL from here with injuries keeping me from doing much Lego or 'net. If it is at all possible to have myself and my two boys again that would be greatly appreciated. I totally understand if time is a issue as I did read you are busy as usual. Thanks for everything! We are pictured front row, two little boys and the brown pants, brown cape. You can drop the cape :)

Hmmm, no body. As zero stated, great cliffhanger. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Revenge is always fun to watch.

As always, your work is excellent. I'm glad you keep quality over quantity. It is very easy to keep pace with your work. Still complicated story telling that makes you think and remember past events and characters but you seem to keep it easy to come back too after a few months and have a flashback of the back story for characters. That is a sign of great writing.

Excellent review and thanks for doing it! I just picked this set up for my to be six year olds Birthday, Saturday. I'll get to watch him assemble and play with it. He was very excited when he saw it in the newest catalog and seeing it assembled here helps me know it was money well spent!

Very cool Ute. Love the Aussie's style of car building and modifying.

[MOC] Lego universe minifigs
Col. Brik replied to MightySlickPancake's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Very cool. Beta tested also from the start. Fun game, kids love it and I think you are right. It will be a success for Lego. -
Excellent review. You just put it in my head that this is my next purchase for PBR! I haven't paid to much attention to the newer sets for town since the kids are really into Star Wars right now but this one is on the shopping list now.

Awesome of course. I voted "other". If it were mine I would shoot for completing the base plates with the intention of laying out the areas for the Harbor and then the Airport. During that time I'd fill in some of the are with more clutter. Meaning just add some extras everywhere to make the City look busy. Very well done, though. Please don't get me wrong with the comment of adding more to what you've already done.

Thank you all for the well wishes. It it is appreciated. We are still not sure ourselves how a flea infestation took Zena so quickly. We can only think she had a under lying issue health wise and the fleas just advanced it or had something themselves that cause her health to fail quickly. She was 12, moderately old for a cat outdoors but since she was indoors we thought she was still young. As for the Lego I have been getting tons of great suggestions on what to do. I have about 1/4 cleaned and drying in the garage. The kids are taking both situations well. Again, thanks everyone for the well wishes.

A horrible experience is now going on with PBR.....and in real life. a week or so ago our family Cat (Zena) got fleas. She then got extremely sick and had to be put down. In the 48 hours of the Fleas getting on her and then her dieing the Lego area in our house was completely infested. Zena enjoyed staying under the table, near the Lego bins. So every bin was covered with fleas. Imagine 400+ lbs of Lego in bins infested with fleas. I am now washing and cleaning every Lego piece we own. Not a fun experience. The exterminator has cleaned and cleared the house but the bins have dead fleas everywhere. PBR is literally decimated. Only small amounts survived the onslaught of Fleas. Like a plague spreading across the land only those above the ground and on the table survived. Unfortunately we had 3/4ths of the Lego under the tables in bins since we have been going through a rebuilding process again. It will take a long....long time to get this all cleaned up properly. The chemicals put down shouldn't hurt the Lego but I am still washing and drying each and every piece regardless. I would post up pictures but you don't want to see it. I have one 50 gallon bin I filled with hot water to let the Lego soak in that and the fleas float to the top. The top is a thin oil like slick of dead fleas and cat hair. Just not something I should have even described. Fleas, I don't wish them on anyone. This has been a horrible experience with having to explain to our two sons why Zena got sick and died. How the Fleas won't get them sick (both kids have been to a pediatrician since her passing) and why every Lego can't be touched until Dad has cleaned every ounce of Chemical and then dead Flea off. Zena wasn't even a outdoor Cat. She never went outdoors. The Fleas likely came in on the kids shoes, my shoes or something else.

This was our third Brickworld as just public attendees and now my wife has stated we will, should, come down and stay Saturday Night and take in two days of public action. I mentioned then that I should register as a attendee even if I don't display anything. A link to my photobucket account if anyone wants to look at pictures. This should be a public album and anyone is free to use the Brickworld pictures however they would like. We also made time to go over to the Lego Discovery Zone and then to the Lego Store. http://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i65/lilwillie_wi/Brickworld2010/ We loved the displays...but it was overwhelming. It was a lot of back and forth, keeping tabs on the little ones and getting those few instances to put a face to a eurobrick member name. It was great to meet those that I had a chance to meet. Wonderful people, wonderful atmosphere and great displays by everyone. I think the size of everything was the reason the wife finally talked about spending a night there. The kids could have at it and have some fun. Me also :)

Enjoying newer sets more than old. Sleeker, more pieces, cooler figs. I enjoy the Clone Wars era stuff a lot. Really don't have a issue with price. I think the $100 or thereabouts the large sets are going for is fair. If a set is $50 I'm not shocked by it. You can spend that and more for a night out on the town. So....skip a night out raising $*&^ and have a extra set for the kids and I to play with.

Thank you! I had never seen that ship before, you are correct, it does look like it. Thanks for the comments and link! Thank you!

Lack of side wings? I may add some and see. I thought the VTOL was a different path I hadn't seen done. Of course....Since it is Star Wars, they really don't need VTOL since they basically do it without the turning of the wings. I see what you are getting at, if I upgrade them I'll repost some new pictures. Thanks for the comments!

Good advice. I put the red and green to mimic the actual landing lights you see on planes.....The white bricks on one and red bricks on the other where specifically put on to keep Son #1 and Son #2 from fighting over which ship is who's. One issue I always have, which is a good one. "Honey, I have to buy two sets, I couldn't tell one of our kids I didn't buy him one, and they would fight over just one...." Ah, works every time.

We won't be staying (as I had previously hope too) overnight just coming down for the open day on Saturday. Work and other family obligations only give me one day. Just keep your eyes peeled for a Dad wearing UW Wisconsin apparel and two kids in tow :)
-
Thank you. They where built because my son wasn't happy that any other ships he had wouldn't fit on the tower. Now that they are finished I am trying to upgrade the tower to handle them
-
Thanks! Thanks!. The landing tower is still a work in progress, the kids can only reach so high, so I'm trying to strengthen it a tad before adding more.
-
On the outskirts of PBR, where the Empire guards its territory, lies a tower with a pair of TIE-Escorts. Their job, to protect incoming and outgoing ships as they enter PBR airspace. These two Escorts launch from high above the landing zone and cover the skies, looking for intruders.

How innovative are LEGO users?
Col. Brik replied to andersandsoren's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Interesting questions. Nice survey, curious as to how it all ends up. The questions related well. I own a business now (not lego related) but have always wondered what it would take to do a second with Lego as the idea. Time, that is what is stopping me right now, and a good idea that would sell. -
Way to make it your own. Nice job!

Impressive work. If you have more photos that would be great to see more. It is a well thought out build.

Very well done. A nice remembrance to the mans passion and work.
