  1. I recently bought all of the summer wave sets. Have only built the Ewok Attack so far, though.
  2. As far as I can remember, mine came with the slotted ones. It was from the first batch (although it had a number over 5000).
  3. Thank you for making my dream build! Some years ago I thought about making a minifig-scaled Sandcrawler, with the (then) new crawler treads. When the math was done, I realized it couldn't be done, it would be too big. You did it. You are the man. Once every two years or so, a SW MOC that baffles the AOFL world is shown. This is the best one yet. Thanks again.
  4. I built this yesterday, and I am not that thrilled. Pros: Minifigs - of course New baldrick - sword hanging thingy Rowboat New Compass 1x1 tile Cons: Not chromed gold as pictued on box Dress printing does not line up Price - This costs twice the amount of a SW Battlepack. It has the same number of figs (sure, great new molds and prints, but one is a skeleton) and about double the amount of pieces (again, a rowboat and some new stuff, but still). One of my main reasons for paying for this was the new, chromed gold bars... Let's see what S@H replacement service says about my complaint!
  5. I find heat to be better. Hold the fig in one hand and the ring of the keychain in a pair of pliers in the other. Place the chain (as close to the fig as you dare) in the flame of a candle and pull gently. After a few seconds, the pin will slip out!
  6. Love it! I'm an archaeologist as well, but my work is limited to the first vig, unfortunately. I hope to get down and dirty soon, though. Phil Harding? Pfff, it should be Henry Walton Jones JR and Lara Croft...
  7. Yup, but I would never have come up with using two 2x2 curved slopes on the corners. I remembered seeing "someone's" Landspeeder using them, and thanks to the MOC index, I found it. The connection is not very sturdy in my model...
  8. Thanks for all the comments! The engines are also Landspeeder. And both veicles are built from scratch, so I wouldn't really call it "lazy". Well, design-wise maybe. I hope for more than zero votes, that was my result in the latest contest I entered at FBTB (Separatist's shuttle alternate).
  9. There is a SW mashup contest over at FBTB, and this is my entry: It's acombination of a Landspeeder and an Imperial Shuttle. This Bounty Hunter came across the parts, combined them and gave the thing a respray. It flies also: The faint red glow on the background comes from light bricks in the engines. More pics on my Flickr. Credits to Praiter Yed for the front of the speeder!
  10. I voted Zoo Keeper, because of the monkey. Because it's a new monkey.
  11. Don't worry, I'll just stun you with my hookshot!
  12. No, but this vig was from "A Link to the Past", where he was mainly left-handed... The page about Link on Wikipedia says: "Canonically Link is left-handed, although this detail has changed over time, with his sword hand being different between games. The Adventure of Link's instruction booklet describes Link setting off "with a magical sword in his left hand and a magical shield in his right". In A Link to the Past, he alternates hands, but this is due to sprite mirroring. The reason for this is explained in the official Nintendo Player's guide as a Hyrulian superstition that requires the shield to always face Death Mountain (located to the North) to protect oneself from the evil powers originating within the mountain. Starting with Link's Awakening, Link holds his sword in his left hand and his shield in his right, no matter what direction he is facing. In The Minish Cap, however, Link returns to alternately holding his weapon in the right or the left hand, depending on his orientation. At the beginning of the Four Swords Plus (Four Swords Adventures) manga, Link is referred to as the "left-handed hero" after defeating pirates that were raiding a Hylian town. In addition, Link's figurine description in The Wind Waker lists his "manual preference" as left. However, in the animated TV series, Link is right-handed. In the Wii version of Twilight Princess, Link is right-handed, but this was done to better mirror the game's control scheme. In the game's official artwork he is shown holding his sword in his left hand. In the GameCube version, Link remains left-handed, as the game uses a traditional control scheme. Skyward Sword will thus be the first game in the series to feature a definite right-handed Link, with even the concept art reflecting the fact." And the name Link means Left in german...
  13. You could get anything - not just Star Wars. There was no difference on the checkout page when I tried a couple of variations. I got Isla de la Muerta, a couple of Brick Journal magazines and some small things like the easter basket and a Boba keychain that was on sale. Still waiting for e-mail confirmation, though. I hope the ARF Trooper is there (I had the code SESA, implying it will be).
  14. I love it! A Link to the Past was the first Zelda game I played. I had the music that plays when you've beaten the game on my wedding... For coming MOCs, remember that Link is left-handed!
  15. I enjoyed all the displays, but in this I thought that they could have made the crystal thingies from trans-blue LEGO. Also, isn't it a bit cheating to use Duplo on the building?
  16. It was brand new when they opened in the beginning of April. I was there a week ago, great models!
  17. Congrats to the happy weiners and thanks for a fun raffle that got me building something!
  18. Boba had been training for a long time for the Mandalorian Olympics. Bobsleigh Fett The white Boba should obviously be seated right behind the pilot in the bobsleigh Side view: Imagine the extra thrust from his jetpack!
  19. My raffle entry is the crate in which the Ark of the Covenant was put in at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. Or something else, I made no interior...
  20. Never ever remove the arms from the torso and the hands from the arms.
  21. I had to make a few. Took a bunch of BL orders, but it was worth it!
  22. Would either of you please add it to Bricklink? I could do it, but they say you shouldn't list stuff you don't own.
  23. Sorry if this hs been asked/replied to before, but I distinctly remember someone here mentioning that they found the new 2010 Luke head in a 6212 X-wing set. Is this true - are there more sightings of this? It is not listed on BL, but it should - since the Han Solo version is!
  24. Here are a couple of vigs constructed for Swebrick's "Guess which movie/TV show/book vig challenge". Since they are both of shows from Discovery, I put them together here. Deadliest Catch: A deckhand aboard the Northwestern watches a near half full pot of king crabs being hauled from the murky waters of The Bering Sea Mythbusters: Jamie Hyneman is schocked by the amount of injury afflicted to Buster after a 100 ft drop
  25. I suspect that the 2011 Falcon will be the new 6212 X-Wing, a set with many main charachters, that stays in production longer than the average set. 6212 will probably be retired when the Falcon is released, since LEGO knows that the minifigs sell sets, not the ships! A new X-Wing is likely in a couple of years, though. A logical explanation to that would be that they planned to include a new Tactical Droid (perhaps the one we're getting in Mace's Starfighter) but but the normal Battle Droid there as a placeholder. It's a prelim after all.
