Let us know how it goes. I'm torn on whether I should buy this one or the city one for my niece, though if it doesn't come out here in the United States it will probably make my decision easier.
-
Yes it was, sorry about that. Thought I deleted the right picture but apparently not. It was the exclusive set for the Birmingham, AL Grand Opening; it was actually The Vulcan, a cast iron statue here no one knows about. EDIT: Should be working now.

Daughtry's Leave This Town; I'm actually liking it more than I thought I would, Call your Name is a good song off the top of my head.

Yep, have watched all 5 seasons (own the first 3). The ending for this most recent season was a bit strange, heard they are doing a "reset" of sorts to the series, we'll see where it goes. Even though over the years the storyline has gotten pretty out there, I still find myself enjoying it and I'll be sad to see it go after this upcoming season.

My new set.

I'm a sucker for dark green (probably my favorite color in general), with my other two choices probably being dark tan and trans light blue (is that a color? ).

Yes I think someone pointed this out a while back, but it's nice to know nevertheless. I haven't tried it out myself, but I remember reading you didn't just use straight up Oxyclean, that you had to mix it with something else? It would also be interesting to see what kind of long term effects would pop up from using this regularly, i.e. brittle bricks and discoloration of a different variety, etc.

I got the MMV for $50 at my local LEGO Store grand opening on Saturday! Because I volunteered, I got 30% off plus a $20 gift card, so it ended up being half-off essentially.

Yeah I thought about using the other head, but something seems a bit off, and besides the eyebrows aren't thick enough. And of course, everyone should spend quality time with their mothers, they had to put up with you all those years growing up after all.

For a first MOC this is unbelievable; it almost has a microscale feel to it, but you managed to somehow fit that big tower into the scene. Well done, hopefully there are more MOCs to come!

How did you draw this one Sir Gecko, what is a tablet PC or did you draw and scan it in? If you did the latter that's really impressive, love his misplaced jaw and the glint in his eyes.

Welcome Jedi Master Fangorn, I'm sure you'll have a great time here looking/commenting at all the awesome MOCs people build. I'm currently in college too so I know where you're coming from with no time to build MOCs.

I was using Peeron to catalog my sets, but that kind of stopped after a while. I think I may start a profile at Brickset and input all my sets when I get a chance, shouldn't be too hard since I have all the instructions in one big container.

Wow, your castle has become quite the project! I like how the right portion of the castle looks like it is built into the hill you have there, also love all the plant life you placed around the scene. Overall awesome castle, it looks like something I would dream about owning.

I remember the old TV's being more boxy, but maybe this is a special edition one from "the future". An antenna would compliment it nicely I think like others have said, but I do like the built-in VHS player which was a nice touch.

Is there anyone in this thread that thinks this is a US-only site? I was merely pointing out that he was a large political figure to me (though I could have chosen my words better since it's not always right to assume possessive speech). I think it's always appropriate to mourn someone, even if you didn't totally agree for what they stood for/what they did. I saw on the news a little while ago he will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery, which is quite the honor.
-
Yes it's sad to see such a large political figure like him go, but I'm assuming he was suffering like Imperial Shadows mentioned so it might have been best for him to move on. His family was by his side so if he was conscious at the time, at least he left content.

If by 'some bricks' you mean one, then yes you're right. (I'm kidding I'm kidding ) Nice, simple scene. Normally I would suggest sprucing it up some with detailing on the ground or man made shrubs but I think you went simple here for a reason. I hope she isn't leading him out into the woods to do something evil!

I dunno, I didn't care much for Monsters Inc., and I've never seen Ratatouille so I can't comment on that one. Last movie I saw recently was G.I. Joe in the theaters and Robin Hood (the one with the fox ) at home with my little niece.

I've never really seen the point of a rule if it's not enforced... As to stay on topic, here is a pic of my mom and me at Niagara Falls this summer (more like Niagara River here ):
-
Lots of depth and detail in the walls, I love it. I agree with Sandy, some minifigs in there would put it over the top, like the idea of an Ice Queen.
-
Yeah that's what I was thinking of doing next, but I wanted to see if there was a simple solution that didn't need any expensive repairs first.
-
Looks really good, a faithful reproduction of the original. One small complaint, shouldn't it be called a Megafig not Maxifig?
-
Interesting use of the blue flags as water (that is what you were going for I think?). The pooping cow seems to be a big hit , but I also like how you added some plant growth to the roof and the detailing on the front entrance tower.

Bought Ambush in Cairo the other day as well like a few others (discounted price at Target). I really don't mind the sword since I can just use it in one of my troll MOCs. The torsos are actually pretty good for Jedi robes as well.
