    Car Talk

Alright guys, I'm having some problems with my car and I was hoping maybe some of you knew what was going on. First up is the starting issue. Sometimes when I go and try to crank the car in the morning it will hesitate to start, going on for a good 5-10 seconds before it actually starts. Now my car is only 4 years old and I don't drive like a maniac, so I don't think it has to do with the battery quite yet (don't they last longer than that?). I went to the Nissan dealership and of course they were trying to sell me a whole fuel injector kit or something, so I wanted a second opinion. Also the engine doesn't have to be cold for this to occur, it will happen sometimes after I've turned it on a couple times before. Next isn't quite as serious but still annoying. Everytime it rains or it's really humid out, my car will squeak with a high pitched noise constantly. It sounds like a belt somewhere is loose or something; the sound usually goes away after driving for about 10-15 minutes (I'm assuming the time it takes to dry out). Anyone know what that might be? These are some of the reasons I want another car, I shouldn't be having these types of problems with a relatively new car which I bought new.
  2. Haha I don't think anyone would be able to answer that question prateek except Michael Bay, and good luck asking him.
  3. I really like the entrance to the mountain, it looks great. Also love the details you put in the interior, love it.
  4. Thanks for all the nice compliments guys and gals, I really do appreciate them. Maybe I can work in some of my other figs/scenes if I ever get a chance.
  5. That's strange; when I went on Wednesday, Ambush in Cairo was still $9.99 (although it wasn't marked on the shelf, you had to scan it). The other Star Wars sets were also on sale but I had to temper myself and just go with the small Indy set.
  6. They may be considered books for a younger audience, but I love the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. My friend introduced them to me years ago and I never tire of reading them over again (and that's saying a lot since I don't like to read normally). Aside from that I like mystery novels, especially the Hercule Poirot books from Agatha Christie.
  7. If they are damaged beyond repair I just go ahead and chunk it, but usually if it's miscolored or other small deformities I'll throw them in a bag with all the other misfits.
  8. It's an older set, but I remember a Creator set called Wild Animals(?) that had a decent number since the lion was made of tan bricks.
  9. Here's the exclusive set for the Birmingham store: Needless to say I'm a little underwhelmed. Not very detailed and the piece count looks low, of course I'll still get it though. Have you heard anything about the volunteer positions Jordan?
  10. Haha love the clone troopers, dare I say they even look kinda cute. Nice overall design of the AT-OT; does the dropship actually attach to it without falling off?
  11. That really is a shame; I know with a magnet pack I bought the quality was markedly worse, so it's sad to see the same thing happening here. If I recall correctly the knight/skeleton castle battlepacks didn't suffer from the same issues so there still may be some hope for the pirate battlepacks.
  12. Wow, that herd of cows you have is quite impressive. Any particular reason you put all those windows in the building (I'm assuming it's not because the cows demanded fresh air)? The walls of the building could use a little more texture, though the whole concept of the MOC is pretty funny.
  13. Now you may be thinking I posted this in the wrong theme board, but rest assured this is not the case. Backstory: A not-so-lucky prisoner smells something good cooking...unfortunately, it's him! Questions/Comments welcome!
  14. Not that there's anything wrong with that... This is great news, hopefully it will be on preorder soon here in the US so I can get one for my niece.
  15. Haha that looks pretty good, although he does seem a bit scrawny. Maybe he should hit the gym for a bit so he can bulk up!
  16. The colors you mentioned seem alright to me, the big difference I see in my bricks is in dark bley; maybe it had to do with the switch when they were still straightening everything out but some of my dark bley bricks are not even close to what it should be (mainly applying to the larger plates and bricks).
  17. Wow, that's quite the castle you've got there. I love the great tree you've built, it looks really organic. The castle has a "beefy" look to it which I personally like, and is that a working catapult/trebuchet I see?
  18. Wow this does bring back some fond memories, I remember loving this game as a kid and just being in awe of how big the island was. Anyone remember the kart racing that went underground? The models look great, back in the day I would try to build some of them but my collection was really limited so I could never really do any of them.
  19. You mean recently fired after he leaked this stuff (I kid, I kid....I hope). I'm not going get my hopes up for this theme, maybe that way I can think it's better than it actually is when we finally see some high-res shots.
  20. Like Power Miners I'm most likely going to skip this theme, but I'll try to keep an open mind until I see some of the other sets. Atlantis has some awesome potential, but so far it's just not cutting it for me.
  21. Those look really good Apache, did you draw all of them? I'm tempted to get the 3 Amigos one but I wish there would have been 3 different soldiers (small complaint I know). And good thing you didn't misspell 'Glory' on the shirt like you did in your sig.
  22. Watched it last night. Now let me just say I'm no super fan, in fact I never played with the action figures when I was a kid nor did I watch the cartoon series or read the comics. I thought it was good, mindless fun (similar to Transformers 2, though I thought this movie was better). I can see why they changed Rip Cord's race (so they could have a leading black character), and even though the plot was really unbelievable it still held up somewhat. Like someone else said the CGI was not so good comparing to today's standards, and Dennis Quaid just didn't do it for me. Oh and the chicks in the movie were hot.
  23. For me there is still enough diversity with the different printing that they all look like different faces. The temple guard is least distinguishable with the added face and eye paint so it's really just the same expression on 2 (so far) heads that have differing skin tones. As long as they take steps to at least attempt to spice it up it's fine with me.
  24. Went to the only Big Lots around here but didn't find anything except for a Bionicle set (Mahra perhaps, is that a name of one? ) for $7. Wasn't really banking on finding anything there so I wasn't too upset about it.

Whoever mentioned the asymmetrical dashboard on the GTR is going to get a big ol' from me. Now I can't stop looking at the air conditioning vents and how they are not lined up, it's really bugging me for some reason. Oh well, not like I was planning on getting one anytime soon anyways, hopefully they'll redesign the interior by 2012 (or before if I win the lottery).
