The balcony seems way too large and abrupt compared to the rest of the tower, and as a result of that distracts from the rest of creation, which is very well built. I particularly like the landscaping and the steps.

revisiting my mocs: tapestry merchant

I don't care for the yellow highlights on the windows, but besides that it's a nice building. Do you have a link of the first version for those of us unfamiliar with it? -

Galactic Paranoia - Discussion Thread
Sir Dillon replied to Jlblue's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
If you don't have the patience to wait a few days maybe you should go play somewhere else. Jlblue says he is working on it, and whining about it is helping no one. -
Who else could have won when the prize was Fabuland? It was destiny. Well done Hinckley! Your entry was my favourite. Thanks KimT for all the work you put into organizing this and the prizes. I had fun.

If anything goes wrong, you'll probably be blamed on principle. Freaking alien. -
Nice looking armies Purple Tornado. I should point out that if you are going to embed the images into your posts, they need to be resized to 800 x 600 pixels or smaller. There is a tutorial explaining how to in the Tutorial Index.

History & Adventure MOC index discussion thread
Sir Dillon replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hinckley was just making another post for me so I can expand the index. -
Please don't embed images larger than 800 x 600 into your posts. I've changed your image to a link.

For those who don't know what he's talking about: I don't know what that is. The placement and colour makes it appear to be some kind of segment, but to me it looks too big to be a gap in the armour. Maybe it's just decoration of some sort? Is there someone here well educated in the ways of armour that could help us out?
-
A fine little creation. I like the way the silver armor looks on those older factions. Shouldn't they have their visions down?

I'm not familiar with the series, but like your creation a lot, the wall in particular. The mix of white, black and the colour highlights gives it a very cool and unique look. The inner details are also well done. Not a whole going on, but enough to give you the feel of the city. I can appreciate the work put into the water, but I personally don't like it. It just looks too varied and messy to me. I think you should either make the wall taller, or the platforms around the back shorter. Right the battlements barely protect the soldiers' lower bodies.
-
Nice modifications! This looks like it would fit well with the rest of the theme. My main suggestion would be to make the doors more defined, either by by changing the pattern or the colours. Right now they blend into the mountain a little too much for my liking.

Community Castle Build Contest Entries
Sir Dillon replied to Sir Dillon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
And the contest comes to a close. Thanks to all who entered. The winners will probably be announced in a couple weeks time, but I cannot make any guarantees. Until then, please feel free to continue building modules for the regular Community Castle Build. -
Happy birthday CopMike! I hope it's a good one!
-
To clarify, I am going to end the contest at midnight US Eastern Time. This means that those of you in Europe will have a few hours extra time, and for those in the Western US will need to get your entries in a few hours early.
-
Yes. I'm glad you were able to change it. I hate to be so picky, but now you image is too large. Please resize it 800 x 600 or smaller. Only one day left to enter!
-
Aww, don't get my hopes up like that.
-
Nice speeder! I like the chopper aspect that was mentioned. I do wish you had made the front poles out of something other than the premolded blasters though, to give it an even less conventional look.

Thanks for the replies, guys! I'm glad you like my creation.
