Planing on building a Medieval Boat/ship.
Sir Dillon replied to Cyclonis's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I'm not really sure what size you want it, but maybe something like this? http://peeron.com/inv/sets/6057-1 If that is what you want, you can just look at the inventory. -
Hello all. A few days ago, I received this as a very belated birthday gift from my mom. *sweet* (My birthday was in December, and this wasn't availible until about a month ago) I know there has already been a review on it, but I loved this set so much, I wanted to do one anyway. I hope you all don't mind. Also, this is my first ever review, so If I'm doing something wrong, please let me know. First off, a pic of the whole set: This set is huge. Much bigger then it looks in the pictures. It around 21" long and 15" high. I'm not even sure how wide it is. The figures and their equipment: It comes with six vikings, which is a nice amount, but when they need to row the boat, everyone needs to help, even the cheif. :-P It comes with a good amount of weapons, but I still don't like those new swords, and probably never will. I wish it came with a few more shields though. The Serpent: Though I don't really like the monsters in the Viking line all that much, this is my favorite so far. The colours look nice, and it's made of those new-ish click hinges, so it not only move up and down, but also twist. :-) The sepent's underside The end part of it's tail Front of it The inside of it's mouth Though it doesn't look that great in there, I like it 'cause it's just big enough to fit a minifig inside. :-P Though the spine part on the back of it's neck looks kind of cool, it gets rather annoying, because it's only attached in the front, and can flip up easily The Ship The side/front The side/back The sail The sail is rather large, (which is good, IMO) and I like the design. I was expecting it to be a cloth like the pirate sails, but it's more like a treated paper. Still nice though. The front figure head: This is nice. I'm not sure if I like the wings or not though. I think my favorite part is that the lower jaw is actually the wolf head from the Fenris set. You can see it better in this picture. The shield holder Impressive, no? :-P The stange looking... Shooting thing... (note viking Apo at the controls :-P ) I don't really like this, so I'll probably replace it with something. But if you take it out, the front looks very empty The mid section of the ship, with a cooking fire, ale barrel, and weapon racks. Again: The perty shields on the side (Unfortunetly, these are bigger then the minifig's shields.) The back part of the ship, with a cage, and a stand for the chief person to stand on. The pully thing, you can wind the cage up with it, and if you lift up the lever, it drops back down. Well, that's it. Overall, I think it's a great set, and would give an 8/10 for it price range. Oh, and here's the gallery Leg Godt! X-D

It looks pretty boring now, but I guess that's ok, as it's a WIP. I'm a little confused about all these other forums though. Why make a new one, when you could just discuss them here?

Yeah. Jojo is a member of Classic-Castle, and is one of my favorite builders. 8-

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. :-) There's some amazing creations there! I really like the castles. (Not that I needed to tell you that ;-) ) BTW, Apo. I really like your hair. It reminds me of Wolverine from X-men.

Ah neat stuff. I don't think any of the shirts would would fit me though. :-( Well, not very well anyway. ;-) What are the swords made of?

Hello Robert! Welcome to Eurobricks. :-)

Hey UltraPrime! Welcome! :-)
-
Ok that makes sense. Thanks for taking the time to explain it to me. :-) I was thinking that maybe Mr. Hates was pretending to be Baron von Baron who also goes by the name Sam Sinister, or something like that. *wacko* Anyway, I voted for the one listed as Sam Sinister because I like his torso more then the Baron's.

Neat pictures. The last one of Jon is great! :-D

Once again I am stunned by your work. I really love the way it change from walking on two legs, to four. And the colors look great too. Overall, a bueatiful and awesome creation. 8-

Yeah. I think I'm more confused then before. *wacko* So are you saying that they're all the same person? Or that two of them are the same person, but one is disguised as the other person? Or something else... *wacko*
-
Uh, welcome. Though I have feeling you might not stay very long. He said in a different thread that he's 10.
-
Ah. Good poll idea. :-) Right now I think the best villain would for me would be the Wanderer Ghost, because he can be used for castle, but my all time favorite would be Sam Sinister or Baron von Baron. I have a question though. Aren't they the same person? I always get confused because they have almost the exact same head, but they have different names. *wacko*

Ah.. Cool. I am now part of the Not-So-Secret Pirate Society. :-) I remember Webtechie posted a couple times on Classic Castle, so I looked him up in the member list, but he doesn't have his e-mail listed, and he hasn't been active since April 28th last year, so I doubt a sending him a pm would do any good. :-/
-
Ok. Sorry. :-$ Anyway, does anyone know a way to find out webtechie's e-mail address? Maybe then someone could e-mail him about it.

Just watched X2! Great movie. I the action was really cool. I'm not sure which I like better; X1 or X2... They're both great. *wub*

i wish that were the sailbarge. That's really just a custom set by the builder Baronsat, that he sold copies of for a while. http://www.baronsat.net/baronshop/Barge/page_barge.html

Very neat! I don't know much about Halo, but I really like your Ghost. I'm not sure I like how the driver has to sit in it, but I don't know if there's anyway to fix that. Keep up the good work.
-
Wow! That's very impressive! I wonder how long it took to make.

Hello Jeorge! Welcome to Eurobricks! :-)

Oh, yeah. :-$ That's what I meant. Those prices do seem very unreasonable, but I don't remember them quite that high. Were those prices printed in the catalogue, or did the seller write them? IIRC the Red Beard Runner was 99.99 USD and the Armada Flagship was 49.99 USD. I could be wrong though, I have them both, but one was a present and the other I bought off e-bay. Even if I am right, I think that's still overpriced. That could very well be true. I never liked the islanders as much as pirates, and never bought any of the sets that had Islanders in them.

Dillon to Lord *vader* Ah yes, I remember him mentioning that a while ago... Should I now report to you, or just wait until GM *yoda* comes back?

Bye! I hope you all have a good time. :-) Hopefully someday I'll have enough money to go to one of these events...
