I don't think Tintin would do too well in the US. It's just not as popular historically over here, and I imagine European sales on such a pack would dwarf the US sales.

I noticed that too. I guess it's either take it or leave it and hope they make another version of her...which they should, seeing as she and Cyborg were left out of the Titans party when the TTG Robin and the first Starfire and Beast Boy were included in Jokerland.

Interesting. I'm happy with what we got. Universal horror is the only franchise I would have wanted, and the development seems to have led to a good solution. It's a bit sad that this will ultimately be a game with no real conclusion, but it's alright. I wonder how scan-in figures were to work technologically (How would they be ID'd? How would the game create models corresponding to the figures? Why would we want to play as them- would your own figures get powers and abilities?), and I think a character customizer with a rewriteable character Toy Tag a la the vehicles/gadgets would have been a much more logical way to do something like it.

I understand. But considering that there are no existing minifigures with shadow designs across their eyes, a black straight-across mask or bandanna pattern would be a suitable imitation.

Are there any females with black rectangular domino masks? None come to mind, but the ideal Raven would just have shadowed eyes.

Beetlejuice is the name of the movie/the words of the summoning incantation- Betelgeuse is the name of the ghost.
-
Do you mean that the piece is new or just the color? Because the mold debuted with the Pop Star in CMF Series 2.

Well, Betelgeuse himself still looks a bit disappointing due to the cut-off stripes, but I'm happy about the sandworm. The Powerpuff Girls look great, and the TTG minifigures are definitely a bit creepy and not my preference, but I'll probably get them, anyway. If only Beast Boy had a normal face so I could put his great hairpiece and head on the Jokerland version.

Oh, dear, Starfire is scary. Those cartoon eyes just aren't for everybody, apparently. At least Raven will be able to work with the other figures, because the white around her eyes can be interpreted as visible skin rather than sclerae.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

I just hope the new series is as large as the first one. -

Boomerang's design should be similar to the making-of book's portrayal. Good to know about the Egghead mech. The only other thing I can see for sure is Harley's truck, because the cannon seems designed to attach to something, and they've got a design totally finalized, "hypothetical" sticker sheet and all. Does that mean Harley has the most prominence as a villain in these sets? -

There's certainly enough material left over for all of this to happen, so I'm tentatively choosing to believe in it, despite the illogical release time. Is there anything preventing them from having more than the standard amount of CMF series per year? I'd probably make the licensed series simultaneous- "non-canon", if you will, so they didn't interfere with the main series schedule. -

Ooh, I'm excited. Think how much awesome stuff we could get in a CMF series and a wave of sets. Wait, I retract that. I've seen what speculation can do here. But, even though I'm overjoyed that we get more stuff...seriously? It doesn't seem logical to me for anything, let alone a new CMF series and set wave, to be released that far beyond the movie's peak. At this point, it would almost make more marketing sense to unbrand it and sell it as wacky DC sets. -
I just wish they'd switch to ABS for the tridents, but the shape is too pointy for that, so it's either a potentially harmful sturdy accessory, or a safer one that minifigure grip ruins. It is good to see yet another new color for it after so many years of it being just gold.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 18 Rumors and Discussion
8BrickMario replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think both of those figures are perfectly plausible, but they don't seem up to standard. Surely the guy would have a printed neckline, it's the standard these days, and I'd expect the girl to have leg printing or an additional color or two. -

I doubt either of those gamers is a final CMF design. Neither seem detailed enough (and I don't see ourselves getting a second male) to be included, but the VR headset and controller are convincing...yet not for a costume series. -

BUT, the rules of the LEGO Movies are that everything has to be a real toy being put into the movie, with the principle that a movie-exclusive mold would disturb the suspension of disbelief. So far, that hasn't happened, so it would seem that Nightwing is inevitable. It's also why the models are all so realistic and why Two-Face's damage is to his plastic rather than a representation of the comic- these are fundamentally supposed to be real objects, so then any new pieces would be made available in real life. -

I don't really know that we need this information at a point where the conversations can't be productive, but I'm hopeful that we do indeed get more from this film, because there's lots of potential, and the Egghead thing seems a given unless he was scrapped entirely. -
Those Atlantean masks would be good for some swamp monster customs.

I'm okay missing the music red bricks, but yeah, the stud multipliers are a good incentive and some of the other cosmetic ones are fun. I still have a lot of catching up to do. I'm not aiming for every character, just every level and Adventure World, but with the higher-level packs I'll need, I'm not looking forward to it. This is one reason I'm sort of glad it's ending: discounts, and the possibility of catching up!

If anything, I would have hoped for Oz Team Packs (or a Level Pack, Team Pack, and Fun Pack) for Dorothy and Co. and to have the franchise's role in the game make a little more sense, but other 80s-type stuff they had access to...? I guess we'll never know.
-
I don't personally feel quite the same way. While he's certainly important, he's not the most striking of villains to me, and the main cash cows are the licensed characters. I wouldn't pass Vortech up, but considering the molding and programming that would be needed at the time where the game's assets have essentially all been made due to cancellation, I don't think they'd want to go to the effort. But who knows? Maybe the figure itself can be made, but I don't think it would be nearly as impressive in opaque plastic like it would have to be.

I don't mind the vehicle stuff. Unfortunately, action-based themes don't have many excuses to provide proper location models. It's either a playset made for destruction or a less polished model. In fact, I was actually disappointed by the latest Arkham because of the lack of things to do. I do really appreciate detailed buildings and locations, but I don't think they have as much of a place here.

At least now we know for sure it's not the Elizabeth Swann hair...but it's very similar in texture and shape despite its shortened length. I wonder if we'll see it elsewhere in the future.

I wonder what kind of gameplay Vortech would have had associated with him. Mind control, most certainly, and perhaps magic and technology, but they'd probably have to program in an entirely unique type of puzzle just to make him worthwhile, and there's no Year Three, which is probably where he would come in.
