Ameribricks: Shocking News Here
8BrickMario replied to Shadows's topic in Forum Information and Help
True...I feel sorry for the people of Boston. Go BPD! All right, back on topic. This joke never came off to me as "cruel" because it caused a flamewar, but I have just one thing to remember for next year: A joke is a good one for a day. Close to a week is just not funny for the subjects of the prank. A truly good practical joke is one that everyone can enjoy and laugh about afterward! You don't want people telling "The Legend of the Awful Ameribricks Week", do you? -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
8BrickMario replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, if that's so, LEGO messed up on the minifigs, too, not just the box! Though I doubt this is so. I don't want to be rude, but are you SURE you didn't mix Tor-An and Faora up in the images? -

Do you mean the Toy Fair pictures? If so, that was Tor-An with Faora's torso! The spiky hair is part of the final figure, and what comes in the set. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
8BrickMario replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I do like 6, 4, and 9. I guess this series is less interesting to me is that many of them (Medusa excepted, of course) are based off of real-life things. C'mon, LEGO, you should've given us more fictional stuff this series! Somehow, I'm not a fan of the pamphlet either. The front and the display of the minifigures isn't eye-catching to me, and I miss the idiot-proof "How to build a minifigure" ( ) tutorial. I liked that it showed the parts separately. The Mr. Gold ad is necessary but garish. Feel free to respond to this, but please continue with your "expectations vs. reality" opinions as well!- 1,076 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
8BrickMario replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
To break the monopoly of the sightings discussion, I will post a question. For those of you who have Series 10 Minifigures, how have they lived up to your expectations? What did you like, and what could be better? For Medusa, almost everything was just as I had hoped. However, I wish the snake hair was ABS and that she had back printing with shoulder blades and something securing her armor. Sad Clown: Simple yet cute. What I didn't like was his face (the chin bugs me), so I gave him the Mime's sad head. For mine, the pom-poms on the hat were slightly off-center.- 1,076 replies

I apologize for being so slow on the uptake. Before just a while ago, I had no idea who Paris Hilton was! Now that I know about the unfathomably popular woman, I think the comparison is accurate and funny! I don't know why I never got around to looking Hilton up earlier...- 1,076 replies

I like the Samuel L. Jackson one and the bug one! The SLJ one because I like the actor references, and "It's funny because it's so true", and the bug one for the same reason just listed. One thing, though. I don't want to insult Just2good, but shouldn't Twitch and the Geonosian not be in there, as they aren't 2013 figs? I understand completely, however, that you needed more bugs for the funny. It's still brilliant, though!

Finally, another Illinoisan on Eurobricks! Welcome, Hungus81! I wonder, with the broken distribution, how many Goldies are now in Illinois. Unfortunately, there's no way to know. Every day my mood alternates from feeling like I may have a chance to find him, and feeling totally hopeless. I feel right now like I will only be able to get him by another method than finding him. NOT eBay, though! I would have never thought of Schaumburg, as I live somewhat far away from there! EDIT: New signature to reflect my feelings!- 1,076 replies

Agreed. On the Tomahawk Warriors I found, I identified them by the mohawk, not by the tomahawk. I could not feel the blade on any of them. The bar included with Mr. Gold is four studs long, and I think the TW's is only 3 long.- 1,076 replies

Actually, you have to spend $75+ on a Star Wars set, not $70!

The TRU I went to today had not a minifigure from 10...said they'd be getting them May 1. I think the key question about Mr. Gold is whether or not there will be 61 per each box with him in it, or if he replaces a regular minifigure in a box including him.- 1,076 replies

Thanks! Voila! You have been magically added to my friends list. Bad jokes are fun, aren't they? Let's get back to S10 sightings, though! TRUs and Targets have them, but no reports of Walmarts...I don't often shop there, anyway, so it's of no concern to me, but for others, I'm just relaying the news!- 1,076 replies

The ubiquitous question of Series 10: "Where is Mr. Gold?" The answer is here. On this thread. This topic is exclusively for recording all of the Mr. Gold findings you can find, and give details. As the USA does not have a "gold tracking" feature on their Minifigures website, I think it would be nice to list them here. At the end of your posts, leave the current total of findings once you contribute! Mr. Gold has been found, but no one know exactly how many times. Here is the place to keep track of the elusive chrome minifigure....

I might have to check a TRU near the Target I went to in order to search for Mr. Gold! A lot of people are finding him: http://brickset.com/...rticle/?ID=6297 This article and the comments make me feel like I have a chance to find him, even though the chances are slim. But hey, no one has found one in Illinois yet, so it might as well be me! I may even be the first Mr. Gold-finder on Eurobricks! But I'm not anticipating anything yet.- 1,076 replies

Successful trip! I got prime access to the box of S10s. However, I was so excited, the statistics flew out the window. I do know, however, that there was no Mr. Gold in the box, a bazillion Grandpas, Tomahawk Warriors, and Sad Clowns, and the lone Medusa, which I of course snatched up! My basic philosophy looking through the box was, "If it isn't Mr. Gold, it isn't worth it to me." I got the Medusa and a Sad Clown. I can get the rest later, so I don't care that I only got 2.- 1,076 replies

I am seriously crossing my fingers that I can access and purchase some minifigures! I will hope for a Mr. Gold. I think the only thing that makes him hard to find is his rarity! Bag-feelers like myself would have an easy time finding him if he were common! I've even created an inventory chart on Google Docs to see how many of each I feel. Obviously, the tally box for Goldy is small!- 1,076 replies

Well. we all know how stupidly competitive they are about getting (insert LEGO product here) first! I would actually respect them more if they didn't make themselves sound like idiots when saying "The Brick Show"!
