  1. I like it, though I don't like the way they pasted Grodd's face on him.
  2. You know, I was wrong. The spoiler tags almost make it worse! I can't read them, but now they'll take up the last life this thread has! Next week, I can read this topic again! Minus spoilers, is this game as good as (or better) than LEGO Marvel on its own non-source-material merits?
  3. I'm getting the game on Tuesday, and playing through the story might take me until Saturday at the most with the time I'll have, so if that'll be discussed, spoilers are recommended. But for me, the best part of the game is collecting characters and messing around in the open world. And try not to open-spoil unrevealed characters either!
  4. I hope it is just the movie and a minifigure. The EIA edition of The LEGO Movie was way too expensive to justify the minfigure and the movie, especially since I didn't need the Blu-ray copy either. Unfortunately, the bulk of the box seems to suggest useless extras bundled with it. I'll probably still get it if it's worth it. As for obscurity? Where are my Arm Fall Off Boy and Dogwelder minifigures? Where's Matter Eater Lad? Bouncing Boy?
  5. Oh, yes! The torn cape, the face, the 'Symbol, it all looks good! I am getting this. Not gonna miss out on another movie-exclusive minifigure. A set with the New 52 Superman and normal Bizarro would be nice, though I doubt this exclusive fig is hinting toward anything, except that it practically confirms that he is in the video game.
  6. Well, not many did, as one of Disney's biggest flops.
  7. I like it. MM is much improved from the S@H bonus, especially the cape. Supergirl and Brainiac look good. although that single face on Brainiac is going to bug me. Superman is meh, but I'm not too upset about the design they chose. The ship looks fantastic, just like the game showed us. And don't be upset about Superman not getting the New 52 design. We got an abundance of new characters, some with the bizarrely prized leg printing. This theme isn't stopping any time soon, so there's a lot in its future. I'd say this wave is a really freakin' huge step for the theme in general, so not getting the one character they decided to save on printing shouldn't matter too much. (Also, New 52 Superman would just be a red belt on the torso and blue pants. It's not that big of a difference). And he does get the MoS laser eyes, so that's a bonus.
  8. What's Rokit doing in the background? But yes, that picture shows off her mane and tail nicely.
  9. If you're considering it, get it. Mind you, I got mine in a panic in early August, but it's still here. You may not be lucky if you continue to wait. So if you want that extra copy, I would encourage you to find one as soon as you can.
  10. I'm warming up to the Disco Diva. She's a fun counterpart, and a neat "dated" character like the Disco Dude, Hippie, and Diner Waitress. I just hope that afro is dark brown. And I think the Lady Cyclops could be truly funny. We know LEGO's formula for making nonfeminine head moulds feminine is ridiculous makeup and other silly tertiary sexual characteristics, but with that grumpy Cyclops mask, blush and any eye makeup would be hilarious, since it would be so deliberately out of place, and call attention to the bizarre concept of a Cyclops with eye makeup, since there's only one eye. Printing would be feasible on the cheeks and eyelid of the mask, too, so I have good expectations. It's obvious "part mileage" (whenever LEGO tries to get as much usage out of a mold as possible) but they could make her a silly minifigure that doesn't scream "lazy". Also hoping for a new color here.
  11. Wait for it. We're still in the year 2014, a 2016 topic will likely pop up soon. Just because there is no correct place yet doesn't mean this is the place for it. We don't have any information either, so where's the discussion. I'm excited too, but the year and the sets/movie are still a ways away.
  12. Oh, good, the Question! Are Spoiler and Clayface still possible to be in the roster?
  13. Just showing off your SDCCkitty, weren't you! Great funnies!
  14. Indeed it does, but it's much less skull-like, more organic, and more obviously Lovecraftian.
  15. Thank you! I'm glad to see that Toxikita has a different outfit under the armor. Her mech is good, and the new spring-shot grapple hook looks good too. And the scientist is okay as well. I won't pass this set up. I love the pollutonium-barrel arm on the mech, and it's very industrial looking. Good job, LEGO.
  16. It's not out yet...is it? The first release date is Tuesday.
  17. I can't imagine why they would change the format of the packaging. Definitely bags. And @legofanatic12, that picture is probably identical to what we're getting (minus the box and foil wrap), especially since we have all of the pieces (the Butcher and Ice Cream Mike's paper hat has been predicted by several). A mascot would be fun. but I actually prefer a classic worker. But as a tradeoff, it's probably guaranteed that he will have a limiting nametag with a LEGO employee name, like Tara the waitress, Luiz the Galaxy Patrol, Licho the Space Miner, and Shami the Alien Avenger.
  18. But the Mirkwood Elf Army set is a good source for an up hood.
  19. Why are people speculating about the Snake Charmer and Unicorn Girl? We've already seen final images of them both in the magazine. That's why I think the low-res pic is preliminary, since the Charmer doesn't quite match the polished image.
  20. You know, the image seems preliminary due to the Snake Charmer's visible differences from the final version, unless that beard is just bad quality.. So some things may be subject to change. But it's good to have some discussion, although I am hoping that this is not a final pic, since this is so far pretty disappointing to me.
  21. Wait, how is that the Snake Charmer? He has a mustache and no beard! And the turban doesn't look the same. Perhaps that pic is (read: I hope it is) preliminary. The Lady Cyclops is so far indistinguishable from her predecessor. I like the star-shaped sunglasses and recolored skates on the Diva, but otherwise, meh. No new hair. The Paleontologist looks OK, but the Sheriff is painfully boring. I support the mustache, though. The Egyptian Warrior looks good with the keffiyeh. That alien is gonna inspire hundreds of Lovecraftian Cthulhu MOCs. And the King looks really good. That caped character on the very right of the rows in the display looks intriguing. Wizard, perhaps? And what's the big silver thing there next to it? Is this the start of a new style of display and packaging for the CMFs? It looks like a tiered stand of cases.
  22. Illinois. Again, this may not be a common incident.
  23. Wait, is Globert's jaw hinged? Yes!
  24. This was in the US. I hope it's an isolated incident caused by poor customer behavior.
  25. A hot dog costume would need a new sandwich board. Where did we see the possible Evil Wizard? I can't accept the Lady Cyclops reusing the S9 mask. No amount of stupid makeup printed on it (like the Alien Villainess and Lady Robot) could make it look feminine. Just really lazy and ugly. Also, I can't say how happy I am to see new accessory pieces after two series of only new headgear and capes.and the one new guitar. I fully expect the Egyptian and Disco Diva to have new hairpieces, unless the Warrior has a helmet.
