  1. The Fire Station modular set hit Toyworlds today, as did the Toy Story 3 sets (Train, dump truck, rubbish truck). The Fire Station is quite lovely, but Im still not convinced it fits in with the style of CC, GG, MS and GE.... No word on the Imperial Flagship or Grand Emporium, but they shouldn't be too far away:) Also - anyone know who picked up that MISB 12v Train off Trade Me? $1505 for a lego set is pretty good for the seller!
  2. Oh no - Youre not going to like this then..... Word on the street (ie - Local TW boss) is that the 2010 Trains line has been delayed a few weeks, so might not be hitting us until July / August. Apparently everything else is still on track to hit the shops in June - just not sure when in June though...
  3. Well...... The TW stores in the Wellington and Palmerston North regions (Except Coastlands) all had a coupon sale over the past weekend. Basically it was like one of those Mitre 10 style coupon sales eg - 20% of any item up to x$, 30% off any item up to x$ etc etc. Basically, they had too much stock and had to move it on. I went into the Megastore around Midday Sunday and it looked like Lego was a big seller for the sale.
  4. By the time I went into the Megastore on Sunday afternoon, a lot of the shelves has been thoroughly emptied. I wasnt after anything in particular so wasnt that gutted. BTW, VMLN8R - If you are after a new Taj Mahal, I may be able to get you a very good price on one - PM me if you are interested:) Also, Im finding that Lego trains are really starting to take up a lot of my Lego time and budget - If anyone has any 9v stuff out there that they are willing to sell (tracks, engines, stock, buildings etc etc) I'd love to hear from you.
  5. Hey all - I just got my lego.com order today after taking advantage of the free shipping offer, and I did not get a sticker sheet as advertised. Did this happen to anyone else?? - Im about to email Lego to see if I can get one sent to me.
  6. Wow!!! thats beautiful! Looking on BL, the price for a new set is in the thousands...... Someone is going to get a treat! I also see the 10213 Shuttle Adventure is advertised on Lego.com for $199 here.. Not too shabby either..
  7. Hello, I've been with EB for a while, but have only recently become keen on Trains. I originally got out of my dark ages with the Star wars line in 2004, and have so far only really been keen on the UCS line. Until...... I was given an Emerald Night set for Christmas 09, and love it to bits. I have since bought a whole bunch of 9v Track and have used the Coal Tender conversion process to house a 9v motor in the set. Ive also recently bought the Hobby train set, and another Emerald night set for the extra car. While the EN result has been pretty good (especially after converting all the engine wheels to Axle based instead or Pin based to reduce friction), Im keen to build a whole layout that has Barrier arms, A station / platform and other cool things. Ive also been quite interested in the layouts that have Mindstorms 2.0 functionality, and am seriously thinking about integrating it into a layout - but im a bit stumped on how. The main thing is to control the actual train via the 9v through Mindstorms, and then add on barrier arms, etc etc. Ive had a bit of a look on the net and here, but am not getting very far, so any help or pointers would be appreciated.
  8. The 10197 Fire Brigade is also due in June at $299 RRP. (same as the Grand emporium and Imperial Flagship)
  9. PoP sets in at Toyworld now! - Had a good look today and quite impressed.
  10. Dang it - the Bronze Boba is indeed US/Canada only (Quote from lego.com) Offer open only to residents of the U.S. and Canada ages 13 and up. Perhaps it weighs too much for it to be shipped off the North American Continent:) Never mind - The sticker sheet is a bonus anyway. Sounds like a few of us took advantage of the free shipping - Very cool. I wonder if any one REALLY went to town on the offer - ie - Bought a bunch of Death Stars / Taj Mahals / NXT kits etc etc. Actually, now that I mention that, I wonder whether we will see some sales coming through on TM from people who bought lots of stuff and are trying to move it on??
  11. Just ordered the Green Grocer through Lego.com. Figured that $219 delivered direct to my door is pretty sweet. Its always been one of those sets Ive been meaning to get, and there are always a few on TM hovering around the $300 mark, but this free shipping deal was just too good to pass up. Also got an ice-cube tray. Coooool. The sticker sheet will be a good birthday present for my nephew, and its pretty cool being in the draw for that solid bronze Boba - that thing would be AWESOME to have!!! I know that the Fire station, Grand Emporium and the Imperial Flagship will be in retail stores in June for $299 each too, so will be ready to lay-by those too:)
  12. Im a long time customer of Maxspace in Australia, and also of Gelo here in New Zealand. Between the 2 of them, they have most of the bricks I need - and have great service too. Plus, Australian postage is generally cheaper than from the States or Europe. You can also check the EB Bricklink trusted sellers list here which may help in your desicion. As with Trade Me here in NZ, check the sellers feedback accordingly.
  13. The seller 'Gelo' has a whole bunch of these in Red on Bricklink for only 20c each. I deal with this seller a lot, and they are very quick. They're not dark red, but may still suit your model... - Oh, and based in Wellington, so postage within NZ is cheap!
  14. Hey all, I'm doing a Lego.com order next week. Is anyone interested in piggy-backing and ordering anything? Let me know or pm me before tuesday. Cheers!
  15. Its going to be quite a biggie - 160 studs long, 90 studs wide, and 60 studs tall. Im following the source material as closely as possible, but will be making some alterations / modifications where the scale requires. Im really excited about this project, and cant wait to take more photos as it progresses!!
  16. Hi all - thought it was about time to post a small preview of my next MOC - The last mission of Gold Flight. This WIP is based on modeller Tony Agustin's incredible Y-wing / Death star diorama (see here for details), with the aim of fully recreating this masterpiece in Lego. Ive created the initial Death Star 'template' plates, and have taken a few teaser shots with a UCS Y-wing in place. Its only a small teaser, and I have A LOT more work to do, but first impressions are pretty good (IMHO anyway ...hehe). Small 36s Teaser video on Youtube can be found here. - and check out my Hoth MOC too if you havent already. Thanks!
  17. Hi All - It was my last day at my current job on Friday and all of my workmates pitched in and got me an Emerald Night. It was a fantastic present, and I love it! - If anyone is contemplating getting the EN, dont hesitate - its a wonderful set (I didnt apply any of the stickers though - ewwww).... Looks like Ill also be visiting the red shed today for some battlepacks too. I only wish that these BP sets were available when I did my Hoth MOC back in '08 for the cheap snowies and rebels!
  18. Hey guys, Im not usually one to put up TM listings here, BUT, this seller has a a whole heap - with some very appetising start prices.... Link-o-rama
  19. Its so cool seeing all the great Hoth / Echo base scenes pop up - especially after all the excellent official sets provide awesome inspiration - heres another great one on youtube... Hoth base and battlefield And very very cool to see how our favourite little brick is encouraging parents and their children to play together for hours on end. keep up the great work!!
  20. Talking about the emerald night, I was in Tory St Wellington Moore Wilsons the other day, and they have Emerald nights for $160. Thats a pretty good deal:) I will be paying them a visit next payday...
  21. Hey All - J'Ville toyworld do this most years and open up a little 'satellite store' in the mall. The actual Toyworld is perched out at the far end of the car park and isnt part of the mall itself, so I know they do this to raise their profile, and of course sell more Lego. At this stage at least they simply sell boxed Lego, and dont have any other attractions, such as PaB, Building tables etc etc. One of my 'Lotto dreams' is to set up a dedicated Lego store here in NZ:) - so yeah, someday, maybe...
  22. Hey all, Just a quick link to a $1 Res auction on TM for the 10195 AT-OT, Closes Tuesday. 10195 on TM May be a good deal for anyone who missed out on the clear out of these at K-mart.
  23. Theres a few on BL for $150 USD ($215 NZD) but postage will add another $40 USD or thereabouts on top. Beautiful set though.. But leave out the 'garagey markety ' part when displaying next to CC,GG etc.. it looks a whole heap tider. And the NZ price for Cafe Corner is one of the best prices anywhere!! Theres a few on TM for $170 as well.
  24. Theres a Green grocer on TM... Market Street Its a bit pricey, but I wants it!!! Unless anyone here has one they'd like to sell??
  25. Yep - a definite mistake... Reserve is indeed $1, but the buy now was not meant to be on there. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.as...102&ed=true
