General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
General Magma replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Oh, and another note on that; It simply states that there are sets being produced right now, and that it's currently still going on, so they're merely speaking of the wave we already had, plus the recent release of the Black Pearl. Which means that they are, like with all themes, going to keep on producing the already-released sets for now before they'd be discontinued. They're not just going to tell you whether's a theme going to continue or not like that. I wouldn't get your hopes up, guys, this theme is most likely over. This is just one of those typical responses you could expect from LEGO's Customer Service. ~ General Magma -
General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
General Magma replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
I'm not sure why they would just tell you this, but it sounds promising nonetheless. My only problem with this is that it would lower the possibility of a LOTR theme if it is true. It's just strange how all the news for the next waves of 2012's themes is being held back, somehow. Last year, news hit the surface quite early, now we have only had hints and 'confirmations' without (reliable?) sources so far. In this case, it may just be true, but there is no complete confirmation. And, ships? They normally do not release two ships in the same wave, so if it is true we might want to expect more waves, which is less likely... I'm looking forward to more news on POTC and all other themes, but it's been taking quite long so far. ~ General Magma -
Thanks for the great raffle again, CopMike and the rest who was involved! I saw my name, and immediately a smile appeared; I have foreseen this in a way, just by thinking about it this morning. Good luck to the rest - until when do we have to PM our address and the other information needed for shipping? ~ General Magma

Thanks - as for the carrot.. Heh, I'm not quite sure why I added that, just wanted to give it a random colour in its name. At the same time I thought of the lightsaber, so out of that came, the purple carrot.. Might just be Palpy's first reference to Mace Windu. It's not much more than that. ~ General Magma

Thanks for another great raffle, here's my entry. I hope it meets the rules - if it does not, please PM me. Star Wars Christmas Episode II: Another Oddity " Darth Vader has received some rather strange presents from Santa Palpatine this year, to which he responded: 'Last year he gave me a purple carrot, now he gives me THIS?! A pair of horns, some black hand on a lightsaber, a Nautolan's head and Zabrak hair?! Pfah!' " ~ General Magma

Great to see another Christmas raffle. I remember the one from 2 years ago, 'twas great to be in one of the winning spots. I'll make sure to participate again this year. Thanks for holding this one. ~ General Magma

General Magma's Star Wars Figures
General Magma replied to General Magma's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Hello everyone! Woah, it's been quite a while since I've posted anything in this topic of mine, and I just decided to jump back in again with a new custom figure, so I present to you... Ven Zallow Star Wars: The Old Republic A hooded Ven Zallow standing alongside a Jedi Consular companion.. (I guess they didn't notice the Sith standing to the left of them ) And Ven Zallow all by himself, as seen in the SWTOR trailer 'Deceived'. Hope y'all enjoyed this one. I still want to add BrickForge vambraces to him (and the other Armoured Jedi I'll be making), but I have no access to those as of now, so this'll have to suffice. And oh yeah, just ignore the dust/dirt or pretend that they're on Nar Shaddaa. All the dust around here is addicted to LEGO, too. ~ General Magma -
Why are the pics gone? They don't show up for me. That's too bad, as I'd have liked to see this, especially with all the positive comments about it. Hopefully they haven't been deleted for some reason. ~ General Magma

I'm quite sure the next wave should appear in the summer of 2012. But I don't think Kingdoms will continue, and else it would be the last wave, since that's the pattern they've been doing lately. (castle...) Also, think of it; they recently released the Heroica games. What if this would be made into an actual theme? I myself can see that happening. If not, I'm hoping for another fantasy theme with creatures such as goblins, more orcs, etc. That would be similair to LOTR, so if they don't do that as another licensed theme, a new original fantasy theme could be possible. ~ General Magma

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
General Magma replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Nope, I don't believe we've seen that one yet - thanks for the link! Those figures are looking great. At first I was wondering why they added the strange prints to the stormtrooper body and helmets, but it turns out it's supposed to be dirt. Makes for some far more realistic sandtroopers. Nice to see some leg printing too, but I'm not sure if that would blend in well with regular stormies. The Endor rebels are looking great as usual - nice to see a new trooper added in as well. He could very well be the old rebel we see plenty of times in ROTJ. C-3PO's new torso print is looking great - I've always wondered why they never made it like that before. Black hips never worked well either - only bad thing about it is that he probably won't fit in along with the other Protocol Droids. Commander Gree looks great as well, but that set's best things are the Geonosians for certain, in my opinion! The zombie Geonosian looks great already. I'm not expecting them to use 2 identical wing designs, as the zombie Geo would require torn/ripped wings to be more accurate. As for Barriss: I preferred the dot-eyed version of her by far, but I'd have to blame TCW for that. A dk. blue hood (if that's what it really is) might be useful. The ARC Trooper looks great, I hope the fin is accurate as well (i.e., the Phase 2 helmet with the P.1 fin). These commando droids seem a bit big, though.. I hope they'll size 'em down a bit more. There's not much else to say, I believe. 2012 looks to become a promising year! Lookin' forward to seeing the final versions of the figures. (And the sets too, of course) ~ General Magma -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
General Magma replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
All of this sounds very nice, especially the minifig selections sound promising. However, I'm not sure where the dark green Eta-2 Jedi starfighter (Anakin Skywalker's) rumors came from, but I hope that it's just missing from the list and that we're still getting it. Would be nice to finally have a new ep.3 Anakin and Obi-Wan as we haven't had those for a while. All in all, I'm looking forward to this year - looking at the figures from the TIE Fighter, I'm sure the rest will be excellent as well! Glad to have all these OT sets comin' out. ~ General Magma -
That's a Mon Calamari Star Cruiser. As for future sets; I'd like to see a tan AAT as well. There's a good chance of that one happening. I just wonder how large it'd be. Perhaps a similair design to the CW version, but in different colors and several changes made. If they will release another MTT this year for real, then I hope it's quite a bit bigger, as the CW version is too large as for minifig scale, comparing it to the 2007 MTT. It is the MTT that should be enlarged, or the AAT that should be scaled down (when speaking of the same sizes as 2007 MTT and 2009 AAT). ~ General Magma

Nope, it probably isn't. In the videogame, it was just a 'handpiece?' on its own too, and probably in a similair style as the boxer gloves from the collectable minifigures. So I think it's just a seperate piece. The color is seemingly the same as Elizabeth Swann's hairpiece. I hope the theme will continue - they could use one in tan for Penrod as well, like in the game, might they make him into a real minifig. ~ General Magma
-
It was Elizabeth Swann's dress (the skirt piece) from the 'Isla de Muerta' set. I don't think it had a connection with Maccus's head, though. But then again, I have no clue as for how I got it in place of the skirt piece either. ~ General Magma

The set itself looks pretty good, but should have been much bigger. But modifications and improvements can always be made, so buying this ship would just be a start for a way bigger project for me. But the best things about this set would have to be the minifigs. TLC did a great job on these, they're very well detailed and accurate. My favorite of the bunch has to be Davy Jones, I like how he looks very similair to the game version. Too bad this wasn't the case with the ship itself... Also, something mysterious... 3 weeks ago, I ordered a replacement for a misprinted part I got in a POTC set. Now, it's been those 3 weeks later, and I suddenly found this in my mailbox, after opening the enveloppe it was in: (Brown body wasn't included) I still don't know how it got here. And yes, that is Maccus's head. I got it instead of the replacement for the misprinted part after a long wait. It's a nice head though, and might be useful for another FDC member. Good thing the part I needed a replacement for wasn't too badly misprinted. ~ General Magma

Did a "show-off" shot of my Barbossa figure earlier, which I placed on Flickr, but then I found this topic on EB.. I will most likely do more in the future. So, here is; Hector Barbossa Captain Hector Barbossa ~ General Magma

Not as good as I expected - I might want to mod it heavily, but oh dear.. DAVY JONES and MACCUS. Now damn, that's really helping me with my Flying Dutchman project, plus its crew. Gotta love those already. Great set nonetheless. Hopefully I'll be able to modify some parts to make it like the game-version. Like someone else said, buying two of these might effectively work. This one is placed at top of my wishlist now.. And wait a minute, Bill Turner? Okay, can't wait to get this. Great figures, neat set. Actually, he was aboard when he appeared to warn Jack about the 'your time is over' thing; and also during the third movie, fighting Davy Jones. Anyways, this set's probably just a scene-mixup, as far as the figure selection goes. And the boxart just appears to be plain random... 'Dead Man's Chest' and 'At World's End' in one? ~ General Magma

Recent loot: Minifigs Series 4: Hazmat Guy Crazy Scientist Frankenstein's Monster Lawn Gnome Sailor ~ General Magma
-
What do you mean? He only stated the highlights, like he said. Vader, C-3PO and R2-D2 aren't anything new and seen in sets many times before, so he probably didn't count them as highlights. There's still a chance that they'll be in there. ~ General Magma

I recently managed to get into Pirates of the Caribbean, after watching the second movie on TV yesterday, and after plans to go to the cinema for the new movie. So I decided to pick up two POTC sets today: 4191 The Captain's Cabin 4193 The London Escape Very nice sets, but the figures and some of the pieces are the highlights there. Gotta plan some POTC MOCs as well... ~ General Magma

My most recent loot, with the last two having arrived today: 7913 Clone Trooper Battlepacks (x2) 7914 Mandalorian Battlepack 8083 Hoth Rebel Trooper Battlepack 8097 Boba Fett's Slave I Shadow ARF Trooper ~ General Magma
-
Well, I still ended up going for the Slave I now after all. The promotional Shadow ARF Trooper minifigure will be included within orders made throughout Shop@Home with orders totalling over $75, but only if the order was made on either today or tomorrow. (May 3rd/4th) ~ General Magma
-
I wanted to go for the Slave I at first, but when I saw the price still being the same, I started doubting. €90 is just a bit too expensive for me if I can get it from a local toy store for only €75. I'm not interested in buying the Tantive IV - maybe some battlepacks and/or Luke's Landspeeder, but not really anything else other than the Slave I for now. The Imperial Shuttle's price hasn't been reduced like I was expecting, so that set is not going to be it either. Now I'm doubting, whether I should get the Slave I for an extra €15 from S@H, or buy it from the store I mentioned earlier for €75, and then afterwards I'd have to start thinking what to get from S@H for the ARF Trooper.. Ideas/suggestions, anyone? ~ General Magma

Count me in for this year again, too. Same sigfig as last year. ~ General Magma
