I'll save your fingers from typing 20 pages of criticism, although I don't think there is much to be improved. This is not Derfel Cardarn's entry, he has made already one a while ago. An excellent MOC as well.

playmobil project - sculptor's house
Captain Blackmoor replied to medieval_total_lego's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I love your playmobil line! Your buildings are very nice. I also really like the sloping roof and nice walls. The green fits nicely in there but you might consider to use a different colour for the roof, but that's just my opinion. Are the other buildings still assembled? -
That is quite nice! The trees are also very nice. Perhaps some spiders, webs and a different colour ground, like brown, black, dark grey and small green pieces makes it more spooky. It is meant for halloween at least.

Build a frigate with Captain Green Hair
Captain Blackmoor replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
That's a pretty awesome ship you've got there mate! I love the shape and colours! You might add some more details though, like stairs and fences. Have you more pictures of it? I'm building a small ship with those techniques as well, it is nearly finished. -
Pillage the Village II: The Calm After the Storm
Captain Blackmoor replied to SlyOwl's topic in Pirate MOCs
I should hurry building my entries. November is going to be a busy month for me and I don't know how much time I have. Perhaps I have the chance to present you guys something though. Like Teddy told me on Legoworld: You have always time to build with LEGO, but LEGO hasn't always priority. -
It was very nice indeed, he had build a large case of minifigs, some of them were from the napoleontic time. He has made some hairpieces himself as well using rubber molds. And I've seen some of Woody's custom hairpieces there, they do look quite good. I'm sure I need some in the future.

Pillage the Village II: The Calm After the Storm
Captain Blackmoor replied to SlyOwl's topic in Pirate MOCs
2 months is a long time indeed, but some people might need that time to order bricks to build something large. I'm sure some people are doing that. -
Perhaps we can travel together, Fryslân boppe! I also shot some pictures at LEGO World: Me and Admiral Croissant on top of the mighty BeLug French fortress, we've found an ally. The large pirate layout overview. On the way back in the train we had some fun with our shopping booty. A fair price for those Bluecoats! Yes, I've bought a Captain Zuloo as well. More pictures, also other themes can be found here on Brickshelf, when moderated of course.

Awesome improvements Z! I agree the ship was too black first, but it did fit with the name Phantom. The dark red stripe on the hull is a big improvement and adds a lot of realism, the tiled deck is also very nice. The custom rigging is still nice and I'm still in awe of it's size. The headrails are rather small compared to the large ship. They look quite fragile. Furthermore I'd like to wish you luck updating your massive vessel!

Pillage the Village II: The Calm After the Storm

Good luck mate! But there's no need to speed things up, you've got a whole month to go. On a side note, I should start with my small devision... -
You reddies start fighting against pirates again? Ah well, it is a quite funny video, nice job on the sounds!

LEGO World 2009 - Netherlands (Zwolle)
Captain Blackmoor replied to Bricks's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I've seen your castle layout today, and it was great. Especially the working mill was very nice to see. I've also really enjoyed the event, done some shopping as well but it was rather expensive. I couldn't resist to get my hands on some nice bricks though. The BELUG pirate layout was fantastic as well. The fort was great, I've seen it on pictures but didn't realise it was that big. We were there with a few EB members, including Admiral Croissant, Captain Green Hair, Teddy and Bonaparte with his beautiful very recognizable t-shirt. We've seen some fantastic MOCs and did some nice shopping together. I'll post some pictures of the event soon! Next year I'll go again, no doubt on that. -
Some not-expensive Bluecoat soldiers for only 2 euros per minifig, two pirate minifigs for 2 euro and some more handy bricks like tan plates and starfish. There were huge ammounts of rare pieces and bricks at Legoworld this year. No doubt I'll go next year again, this time with a big ammount of cash. I had the chance to buy a KimT as well. But of course I ran out of money so the evil santa will get his turn next year, along some other sigfigs...

Haha, I like that one. It is really well built. I like pretty much everything on it.

It looks quite accurate to the car you've based your MOC on. I love the light effects you've added, I'm sure they add a lot and would do well on display. The car itself looks quite powerful and armoured now, also a great job on the details you've put on it. Nice job!

And you sure you weren't involved with the affair as well?

This is hilarious! The expressions at the faces are awesome but I don't think a fleshy female fits in there with yellow men.

My first ship "ORP Johannes Cassimirus Rex"
Captain Blackmoor replied to trubal's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thanks Croissant-addicted-lord-of-the-dictionaries! Seriously though, that is pretty useful. There are a lot of things in there I didn't know before. -
This is actually quite good! Nice job building a decent ship on those small hulls. You've put some nice details in it, the stern is especially nice with that rudder and musket details. The figurehead is also ingenious. I suggest you tile the walls, it gives it a more smooth look. I also think it's a good idea to make the stern a little higher to match the ship's line. Some more filling up near the bowsprit might be nice as well. Make sure it's not getting too squarish though. And the last one: it could do with some ropes.

My first ship "ORP Johannes Cassimirus Rex"
Captain Blackmoor replied to trubal's topic in Pirate MOCs
The galleries I understand. A hard part to build, at least with this style of shipbuilding. I'd say give it a go and try different things with hinges and so on. Make sure you check out some pictures of ships so you know how they look like. Then figure out which bricks you need and watch the connection between the galleries and the tumblehome. That's the most difficult part. Good luck with it! Let me know if you need any help. -
This is outstanding, the size and it's details... It's just perfect in my eyes. I'm also impressed by the architecture, you must have plenty of ideas. I also see some very nice techniques, really nice job on that. I like the shallow water in the middle of the castle, the jumping dolphin and greenery around is also very nice. Very, very nice job!

WIP: Achille and Guerrière, French Frigates of 28 guns
Captain Blackmoor replied to BrickPerfection's topic in Pirate MOCs
You are probably the first one who tries to make an interior in a typical CGH technique ship. I'm curious about how this is going to look like. The curve looks excellent now, the figurehead is nice as well. I'm looking forward to see the headrails on it. Good luck with the build! -
This is quite ingenious, I really like the tree. I also love those small knights there, nice small trees as well. Was it you who stole Captain Green Hair's hair? The castle has some real nice aspects too. Is that white thing at the bottom a mill?
-
You didn't. We should start that game again! I'm sure I will hide it better then this one.

Great, we'll go there with a large classic-pirates gang. No doubt it will be fun. I'm looking forward to see this large diorama in real.
