  1. Bricks4all, located in the Netherlands is a very good store. A very fast delivery.
  2. Well done Bonaparte! Excellent work. It's great to see so many ideas, imagine if some of them will be released as a real set sometime.
  3. This is a very nice one Paul! Great idea and even better executed. I love the tail parts used as splattering water, and the face from the guy with the small fish is good too. The roof is also very nice with the mixture of red and dark red. I think the brown poles sticking out of the building, just beneath the roof could do with a brown 1x1 round plate on them. Now you can see the white building through them. Furthermore I don't really see something what could be improved. Good luck at the contest!
  4. This entry is scaring me. Great choice for the face, and the hair fits good too. The building looks nice as well, I really like the ceiling. But the lamp could use some more detail though. Isn't it possible to put a black lever into the candle? And I don't really understand what those grey tiles on the door are. Is it a lock? Perhaps some tap bricks or 1x1 round plates are better. Good luck at the contest!
  5. This is awesome Z! I love the rocks below, you don't see SNOT rocks every day. The tower is also very nice, but isn't it dangerous? A large wooden tower with a large flame on it... I'd love to see the lighthouse connected to your port where you're working on!
  6. That's always my problem, I have ideas enough! But not always the money for bricks. Now off to Derfel's wonderful entry! I must admit there is not much to be improved here. The landscape is brilliant as well for the building. But the palm tree is slighly bugging me though. I'd recommend to make a new one without those large palm leaves. The leaves used for the bush in front of the palm tree are better. Perhaps some flotsam would be nice as well. And some transculent bricks at the spot where the water meets the cliffs to create the splashing water effect. Good luck at the contest!
  7. Nice entry you've got there, I like all the details. I think the floor might be improved, making a carpet for example. Now it looks like solid rock, which isn't suitable in a governor's house. Furthermore there isn't much to be improved IMO. Good luck at the contest!
  8. Who knows... At least I'd like to see the series continue since it was quite succesful.
  9. Ah this is much better! Great improvements with an eye on the details, the feather in the hand for example. You only could do with a better camera though so we get an even better view. Some tiles on the top of the wall would be nice. It adds more realism and just looks better then studs.
  10. Looks very good my friend! The tan deck and nice colours on the hull make it looks like she's almost finished, great improvements! I also really like the small curve of the hull near the galleries. The stern needs some work, but the concept is great. The round bow is also very nice. I'm wondering what my ship is doing there at the background and why it has a stripped hull while your hull is complete. Oh and you really should stop eating those croissants! Last time I had to clean the countless crumbles from my cabin's floor! Next time you'll have to clean it yourself!
  11. Korpiklaani is also a funny band. Very different from what I listen normally, but I like it.
  12. It's pretty hard to make a decent pirate ship from a viking bow. Of course you can always try, and I'd love to see where you come up with since they're rather unique. I would choose the black admiral as idol. 8 cannons on 2 midsections is quite crowded IMO. Perhaps you can try with your 4 cannons first. And a name... hmm... Names are always hard so I have to think about that one. Good luck on your ship!
  13. You won't know how much fun we had making that jar and coffin. I agree the tournaments were great fun, both for players and spectators. I really think we should launch another tournament in the future. Thanks to those for organizing this unique event!
  14. I love to see I've inspired some people! Thanks! As the good Admiral Croissant already said those kind of ships take a lot of time and money, but it has a very nice result. So far the stern looks good! I also use wrong colours during the build so I know what I need to order. It's not a tough job to replace the wrong colours. I must say the white details on the yellow works quite well. You've made me very curious, and I will follow her progress very closely to see how it turns out. Good luck! Oh and before I forget, an update on the Fourageux is coming soon.
  15. Bribing the government aye? I like it thus far, but there are some things which could be improved. So here we go! - Paper money didn't exist in the time of pirates, perhaps some coins or gems are better. - Instead of the prefab castle walls try to make a decent wall with some nice detail in it. A window for example. - I notice a black thing beneath the turkey leg, I don't know what it is but it looks a bit strange to me. - A nice lamp at the ceiling would be nice too. - A square roof that matches the 8x8 plate below. Good luck at the contest!
  16. Fist of all, welcome to Eurobricks! Enjoy your time here! I'd like to help you out, but large ships are very brick and time consuming! Here are a lot of ships where you should take a look at to get some ideas. I also think it is a good idea to take a look at some threads here with ships in progress. I'm sure you will like this thread as well. Eurobricks best ship builder explains everything. Here is my ship where I'm working on. Perhaps it might be handy. I hope this might help! Otherwise, just ask.
  17. Yes you did! Congratulations mate! I hope somebody is around to close those voting threads now.
  18. Awesome entry you've got there already! I like it. But there's always room for improvement! - I would add more detail to the water, transparent bricks or light and dark blue plates instead of only blue plates. - A kind of jetty where people can leave their boats Furthermore, I don't see a lot to be improved! Good luck at the contest!
  19. I think my ship can be ready in that time, which will be a fourth rate Bluecoat ship. Prepare to lose the position as ruler of the sea. But still, I love the new ship. The colours are also really nice.
  20. I think this topic should be closed now. I see we have a winner aboard! Congratulations Captain Green Hair!
  21. I really like this one! Great idea, and nicely built too! Nice idea to give the monkey flesh or brown hands, I should try that myself as well. Now off to the possible improvements! - I really like the water already, but it could get even better if you add transculent 1x1 plates where the sea meets the rocks. After that it looks like the water splashes against the rocks. - Some coconuts under the palm leaves, pale brown head bricks for example. It will add more detail. - What about a cannon? A pirate has to know how to handle it! I think you could remove one of the helms, and place a nice cannon there. A brickbuilt one does a better job then the common LEGO one. There are some fantastic examples here. - Some tan plates here and there to create a sand effect, a beach is always nice to have on an island. - More colour variation in the middle of the island, now it's pale green. Some colours like grey, tan, black and dark grey would do a nice job. I think you have a wonderful entry after those improvements! Good luck at the contest!
  22. It looks like a starwars lightsaber blade holder, with a flame added to it. I also thinks it supposes to be a grenade. I don't think it's meant to be a burning spyglass. Although, perhaps it is the spyglass part with a flame on it.
  23. I was visiting Admiral Croissant (currently known as Admiral Green Buns for some odd reason) and we had a great day. The plan was to work on our ships, and so we did. But we had some time left, and decided to have some fun! Suddenly we got plenty of ideas! Last time we did something horrible to the Redcoats, now we have a view about the future! First of all, I don't want to offend somebody so please see it as a joke, a big one. We had a party on board! Lots of food and even more of beer and wine! Of course we had a very good reason for this party! :pir-skull: And no, I wasn't that drunk.... I think... In the corner there is a certain General in his barrel, watching how much fun we had. Deep in the holds of the ship, we have something very special. A guard is there 24 hours per day. Now, what is that pile of yellow and black pieces of wood? The shape looks as something like a coffin... Once we've opened it the corpse of Joey Lock becomes visible! Safely hidden in the coffin, made of the planks and flotsam, the only things left from his defeated fleet. The good Commodore Hornbricker didn't want to drink some tea with me, instead of that he attacked the Bluecoat fleet! Sad enough the poor Commodore didn't survive. Now we have made a special place in memory of the good Commodore. Even now he still has the everlasting smile on his face. When you want to take a closer look, please drop some coins in the bowl so we can make sure this memory lasts forever. The guard is there to avoid someone will destroy the monument. Or he is standing there to keep the red carpet clean from frog-dung. And now we are going to reveal the secret behind Captain Green Hairs hair! In real, the captain is red! General Armendariz is helping him hiding the secret by making it green again. We've put him in a Bluecoat coat again because we don't like a green captain. But suddenly I appear on the stage to take revenge for Captain Green Hairs cruel fish-slapping activities. I don't like it to be slapped by a fish, and I also think Captain Green Hair doesn't like it. SLAP! More pictures at Brickshelf (when moderated)
  24. Nice animation! The idea is funny as well. I see it is Attempt Failed #1, does that mean there will come more videos?
  25. This is great news indeed! Probably becoming my favorite LEGO set! I also believe this is a nice source of some awesome bricks. I was waiting for a set like this already a long time, it's rigging is much better then Brickbeard's Bounty! 9 minifigs is also quite rich... My compliments already to the designers!
