  1. Congratulations Big Cam with you well deserved promotion! I'm sure you will enjoy your new position within the pirate ranking system, and I wish you the best of luck. Now let's drink a real bottle of rum together!
  2. And there the pictures are! Nicely done so far.

  3. Ah, that is good news. I'm looking forward to see her under full sail, as she is a beautiful vessel.
  4. That looks like a decent Admiralty to me! I really like the architecture you've put into this place. Although the building is a bit plain, the wall looks great. Other windows would add more detail and realism to the main building, as they look a bit bare and such large glass surfaces were not used in that time. The anchor on the building really stands out, and is build on a very smart way. I only would like to have a close-up from the Admiral, it looks like a great decal!
  5. These huge wooden 'shields' are called swords, and they keep the ship upright as ships with swords have no deep keel. Especially old Dutch vessels have these since there are a lot of shallow waters, unsuitable for ships with deep keels. A typical Frisian Skûtsje (Frisian type of ship) That aside, off to the States Yacht. She is a beauty the Inventor! Especially as it is your first ship. Great colours, and the details at the stern are very nice. The figurehead is great too! I only dislike the chains used as ropes. Good luck with the sails!
  6. That is also the current challenge. Thanks for the feedback! At the moment around 20-30. Not all of them have epaulettes, shako's and weapons though. Thank you. Thanks a lot Perfectionist! I also really hope it will inspire people. About the cannon bases, well, the ten you see on the recent pictures are my own, but this is not the final model. I have to make sure the cannons on the gundecks can be secured on the ships hull using ropes, a thing I didn't manage to finish for LegoWorld. It is not a good idea to place the cannons in there insecure, as it is an easy job to put them far into the ship. They will be added for sure, 10 guns is a bit less for a fourth rate ship aye? And of course you will get your credit afterwards!!
  7. These are some epic pictures Admiral! Stunning. Great interior shots, and a neat guide to your rigging system. Quite complicated, but very realistic! Again, you've done a marvellous job Admiral!
  8. Astonishing ship Captain, truely amazing. Great colours, details and of course the rigging. The pearl gold turned out really well. It is not a common colour seen on LEGO ships, using the limited ammount of pieces must be a real challenge. But it looks so realistic! I also love the details you've put on her. Very inspiring. Good luck Captain with the sails, I want to see her in real sometime soon.
  9. I really like it. Great colour usage, and it looks a rather comfy, yet very secure way to transport yourself! The background is very nice, but the tiled square looks a bit too clean for the middle ages. Is the carriage modular?
  10. Looks like the towers in The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion to me. Nicely built, quite scary too! I would try to make a lava landscape with it to add more feeling. Towers of Oblivion
  11. No Country music for me. Though, I like this, and perhaps you too.
  12. Happy birthday ThePenguin! I wish you a great day having a great time with your family, friends and presents. Cheers!
  13. Ratty, ratty, ratty rat! :D

  14. I'm going to build some small ships and play! What an amazing game, though it looks like it costs some time to finish a single game. Great for the upcoming rainy and cold days!
  15. And the French should thank the Spanish. Beautiful Z! Just beautiful, her shape, her size, her colours, details, all perfect. And it is nice to see your ideas for the bow. I like the way you are thinking. Have you tried to put a hose in the headrails? A nice curve can be archived that way. Using headlight bricks to attach beams between the headrails. I also would add some anchor holes, as it would add even more detail. Good luck!
  16. That seems to be a good way. It's not a tough job to replace the yardams. I just need to order them. Thanks for the advice! I'll give it a try. Er? I'm not sure if I get your point but: The foremast fighting top and mainmast fighting top are equal, the mizzen mast is slightly smaller.
  17. This afternoon my most honorable Admiral! Take this spyglass and have a look at the horizon.

  18. I think I stick with black yardarms, but it would be ideal if they were 1,5 stud thick. Unfortunately I haven't found a way to archive this. 2x2 round bricks just look far too big and blocky. And I hope it will be completed soon. Thank you very much for your kind words. These flags were usually huge, it was possible to cover the stern with it and using it as an emergency sail. Shame only the spanker sweeps over the deck, and in these pictures the spanker is hanging towards the larboard side. About the foremast, I just put too much tension on the ropes, and the bowsprit is quite heavy, resulting in the top of the mast bending over. I have made a new knot so there was less tension on there. That's visible in the pictures I've taken later these days.
  19. Good luck with your upcoming MOCs then, I'm looking forward to see them! Cheers as well!
  20. A funny little scene indeed, I just don't like the slopes in the sand, otherwise it is just perfect. I don't know why but the fence adds a lot to the whole scene too!
  21. That is a great, yet a sad, scene you've made! I love it. The landscaping is really well done, as well for the boat, looks great! You also have a great castle minifig collection.
  22. Ah, the Admiral! Welcome, come inside, have a seat, sit back and relax. Now, what did you have me to tell? Rum you say? RUM? Ah well, for this time I will share a bottle with you, just because I'm in a great mood. Unfortunately that is also where I need the wench for. Just a half bottle of rum each month Admiral! We can't have a drunk Admiral on board!
