  1. Ah, the famous 'headlight bricks' as we call them. A good way to attach a lantern to, but I suggest turning them 45 degrees so the hole is pointing towards the back. Lanterns are often situated at the back of the stern, not along the side of it.
  2. That looks very well for your first ship MOC. I see a lot of original details, and overall the dimensions are nice too. The sails show you have a decent knowledge of ships, which is very important when it comes to shipbuilding with LEGO! I would add a finishing touch: a lantern at the back of the ship.
  3. That is a fantastic town! Very detailed and a great colour usage. Especially the church is really nice. I have also updated your topic title.
  4. That is quite nice! The light effect is really cool and the lion sculptures work very well.
  5. Those walls are indeed incredible, and I'm also really curious which unique SlyOwl technique hides behind it. There are so many details all around the place, and some of them are pieces of art alone! You are a great source of inspiration, and it's great to see you are still building and improving yourself to the max. Congratulations!
  6. That is really well done gabe! The ambush is great, a nice forest scene. The trees and ruins look very well. As for the building, it is awesomeness. I would prefer a wooden floor in there using tiles, and a picture from the front too. The dark green cheese-slopes on the roof are a great touch!
  7. Happy birthday mate!

  8. I think it just needs one more sail on the masts as well, otherwise it's a nice modification. The hatch which gives access to the front storage is a cool feature. I also move this to the MOC-forum.
  9. That flag is stunning work! How long did it take to figure it out? It looks very complicated!
  10. And a merry Christmas to you too DC! Enjoy your break from Castle buildings, I think you really deserved it after so much MOCing. I would love to see you back next year with some outstanding MOCs and advice! I'm fond of the Troll Baiting, a lovely scene with some great techniques. Sometimes it takes quite a while to figure out how it's done! Especially the coloured window shutters and door really stand out for me. The Ramble On! is an eye catcher as well, perhaps some more height differences here and there would add some but it certainly looks good!
  11. Now that is a true historic Dutch building! It looks quite much like your reference building, the light blue in it gives it a nice effect. I'm not sure about the red roof, it's quite bright I think. Dark blue would fit better. I really like the way you've created the window shutters. One suggestion left: Build it in real bricks as well!
  12. These hairy pieces look really good to me! It adds so much realism to the minifigs, I wish LEGO produced them. But who knows what the new Pirates of the Caribbean theme brings? I also move this to the Minifig Customization Workshop, as it fits better there.
  13. Very nice, lots of detail resulting in a master battlescene. I like the action of the MOC. Well done Athos!
  14. Now that would be awesome indeed, if Barbossa is part of the LEGO line as well, I'd love to have his torso! We'll see what the future brings.
  15. A nice MOC, with the best picture quality I've ever seen! Really good! Welcome back from your dark-ages. I certainly hope to see more from you, which we will as you've ordered something.. What camera do you use if I may ask?
  16. That is an excellent comic already! Bright pictures, nicely edited and a curious story. Tops. I'm looking forward to the rest!
  17. Looking forward to it, more loot to plunder!
  18. Skeletons indeed, or a new mold of a large skeleton. I'm just afraid of large pieces. I can't wait to see the Queen, I hope it is probably already one of the best ships ever made.
  19. Thank you all for the kind words. All very nice. I'm sure we will have a great time together on the forums! Have a drink on me today!
  20. But what about ancient gods as figurehead? Greek and Roman gods were used quite frequently. Animals were also popular to symbolize the strength of a ship. Royal shields and gold ornaments, mythical monsters (Hydra, Medusa) were used as well. I'd suggest to look at several ship MOCs in this forum for inspiration as well.
  21. And indeed you are, congratulations and enjoy your new rank. Well deserved!
  22. The pirate forum is more dedicated to the pirates roaming the seas during the age of sail, roughly estimated between 1500-1800. There have been pirates as long as there are ships. For sure there were pirates during the middle ages, but they go to the History forum.
  23. Viking days? Vikings belong in the History forum. But it can go through as the flag of England, the navy flag it is. And I agree with Captain Zuloo, this forum is way too cool to visit just once! Why you mentioned this would be your last post in here is a mystery to me.
  24. That is a large army you've got there. Very impressive! The MOCs in the background fit perfectly within the diorama. It is wise to check out this tutorial about deeplinking pictures. It would attract more attention to your thread. Hope that helps, and good luck with all your soldiers! Keep them in a healthy shape to make sure they are ready for battle every moment.
  25. Aye aye! [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] What an epic trailer that is!
