"Tis your call. If the lock is sufficiently warded, it could be detrimental to our current course." Hoke looked about a bit to see if there was any other way into the room. If not, he mounts Torc and flies as inconspicuously as possible to see if there is a window on the other sides.
-
Hoke resisted the urge, just barely, to snap up the feline and throw it over the parapet. "Hardly. I was just putting some faith in my companions and their abilities. What a useless companion you're turning out to be. You seem to know so much about this fort, but you don't seem to want to share," Hoke said as he thought over what the cat said, looking for a clue.
-
We've already seen how that goes. Nope. These are particularly sweet. And juicy!
-
Hoke recoils reflexively at the hideous odor as Torc hisses at the unpleasantness on the other side of the door. He watches as his quest mates attempt to work the combination on the lock. "Can anyone here just pick the lock? Erik, can you melt it?"

It was an observation, not a critique per se. Don't feel speacial, you're not the first player I have PM'd about acquiring equipment. Luckily, you didn't want to go for the trade as I see the MoG is a better option at this point than the AM. Plus, your PC would not have survived for long and would have been expensive for other PCs reviving your every battle after an enemy sneezed on you. It was a logical move for the benefit of the party. The only reason that quest lagged was because of the QM. And I wanted the medal back because I was no longer in danger of missing out on the Dragoon Mistrust penalty. Your 'suggestions' were nonsensical demands. Everyone seems to see that expect for you. And he is so excited about playing that game that he suggests and wants to develop another game...

Usable by Orcs? How many PCs are currently Orcs? 1 I can think of, and 1 that no longer plays Little hypocritical, don't you think? No I mean the guy I lent the MoG to that has leveled faster than any PC in the game, wants abilities renamed and weapons rules changed to better suit his roleplay, and wants to ram-rod his Munchkin mythos into the game.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - New Changes to Job Classes
UsernameMDM replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
I know I am late to this discussion, but I just thought about this. It compliments the Alchemist's Mixture ability and goes with the alchemy myth (lead into gold): Alchemist: CHRYSOPOEIA generates 1 random treasure item, determined by dice roll (Crystal Ball, Golden Crown, Silver Ore, etc, basically ranging from value of 50 - 500 gold). -
For the level of the PCs? Some kind of dual-weapon that pierces SP, 2 gems, an artefact that gives +10 to healing or poison, two artefacts that is imbued with a gem, an artefact that has 1/2 chance for Blind, one VERY narrow artefact that can be used by (currently) 1 PC, drops & gold. Hello Power Creep! All from the guy who complains about his PC not being good enough as a sub-20 level...
-
Lind - the drops, again, seriously? Do QMs NOT have to run their drops by Sandy or other QMs first?
-
There have been 'Ranged' enemies that fight on the back row. I assumed they did normal damage to all PC regardless of row.
-
After finishing up the quick circuit, Hoke and Torc catch up with the others to find them standing in front of a closed door.
-
Hoke hops on Torc's back and flies a circuit around the fort to see if anything catches their attention.

"If your friends are doing what you have done to your other friends, I would think it would pertinent to stop them, as we just stopped you. Not asking you to kill them at all, but maybe a vampire or necromancer or two."

Whispers of Throlind: Book 1 of the Heroica Bromance

"Let's be about this business. Standing here in denial of what is going on is no help to your fellow Bonapartes." Hoke exits the room with Torc clises behind.
-
"Failing to fill out paper work? You are seriously worried about that at a time like this with your fellow guards being eaten by vampires?"
-
Follwing Erik's reasoning, Hoke addresses the Bonapartes again. "Seeing that somehow this happened while the Rear Admiral and the vampire fellow were here," Hoke says as he points to the feasted upon corpses, "Are you sure you sure you imprisoned those fellows in your right minds and for the right reasons. Do you even know WHY they are locked up in your cells? To be murdered by minions to wind up a vampire's dinner?"
-
"Useless," Hoke mutters under his breathe. Torc stares down the coy feline, trying to decide if it would make a tasty snack or not. "At this point, I don't think it matters. Your comrades lay in their bunks murdered and most likely feasted upon by that vampire. The real question is whether or not you want to survive whatever is going on?"
-
And what SHOULD happen...
-
Would you please seriously get over yourself.
-
"What exactly do you know? What are you not telling us?" Hoke pounds the butt of the Flagpole on the wooden floor. "Bonapartes! One at a time. If there is danger here, it's best we act quickly, so that your fellows safety can be assured, and the devils that did this can be sent back to the hell from which they came."
-
"Thanks." Hoke takes the potions and uses them on Torc. CMP - Did you count the +3 SP from the Flagpole to the entire party, including Torc?
-
After an unexplainable pause, Hoke finishes looking over Torc. "Since we lack a healer, I need a few more potions for Torc if you could," he says to Guts. Hearing the Bonapartes beginning to stir, and the armored one mumble something, Hoke heads over to them and squats down beside the armored Bonaparte. "What happened here?" he asks the guard.
-
Hoke scowled slightly at the cat's banter. For some reason, he didn't believe it was some 'coincidence.'

Hastened PCs already have the consequence of taking Damage or triggering Special Damage twice in one round.
