  1. Hmm...as much I as I want Hoke to be a Dragoon, I can't see him doing anything shady.
  2. Black Knights can use shields. Docken is a Warden and uses a shield because it's a knight/ranger hybrid class.
  3. Well that kind of stinks. I want the rep to get to Dragoon, but if it's not guaranteed...
  4. I guess you can say I am a pretty consistent PC to QM then? I figure with all the flavorful characters in the game that a scoop of vanilla would be refreshing. I wish I would have 'talked more,' but Hoke is the kind of guy that let's his actions do the talking. I've enjoyed playing Hoke and look forward to future quests. I am glad you poked me about joining up with the game again.
  5. We can always trade back if you want to. Doesn't hurt my feelings.
  6. Careful now! People might think you are going soft.
  7. Hoke was exhausted. He trudged as quickly as he dared to his room for much needed rest. The ordeal with Wren had drained him on all accounts, and he couldn't help but feel a hint of sadness knowing it would be awhile before he saw Vipera again. Maybe a day or two of sleep would make it a bit better...
  8. Again Zeph, thanks for the quest! Story: It was great! Loved how expansive it was, and that it will branch out and continue to grow. The characters are good and well thought out. I would have enjoyed them more if I kept up with other quest, but I try to separate in game knowledge with out of game knowledge (I try to only know what Hoke knows). I thought it was fun having the group of NPCs fight alongside with the party. I don't know if the quest would have been won without VIpera and McColt. Action: For the most part, I liked it, but agree with others that it was kind of repetitive with the spires. But then again, there were a lot of spires to shut down. What would have been cool I think is that if these spires appeared once in previous Wren quests. Looking forward to seeing what spires did what and how they influenced the final battle. Mechanics: As frustrating as some of the mechanics were, I think it all worked out well. Tough bosses should be tough to fight. The active and passive specials were intriguing and challenging and required an extra depth to strategy. I am interested to see all of the Wren battle mechanics. Players: Cronk - I do not envy you. You had a tough job, and you handled it well. Hoke looks forward to joining Cronk in battle again soon! Nyx - Good side-quest! Your dedication to the character, down the the flirty/girly actions, is really good. Skrall - Enjoyed questing with Skrall again. Gah that you wanted perma-KO! Skrall handled a lot of the damage on this quest, and Hoke was glad he game along. Atramor - Kinda missed the chicken. Good job of staying in character, and thanks for the strategies! Thothwick - Enjoyed the tension between you and the other PCs. Wished to see you get to roleplay a SHIELD skill roll for the black knight. Haldor - MUCH BETTER THAN QUEST 19! Haha. Again, laughing with you, not at you. Really enjoying the nordic intensity of Haldor. Alexis - Not much from your character this go round. I agree the relationship with Arthur needs to be worked out a bit more. Dyric - Stay alive. Keep working on the character. You stick to your back story to the T and look forward to how Dyric develops. Arthur - See relationship suggestion. Give others time to RP. GREAT strategies! Looking forward to seeing how Arthur's character progresses now that his goddess tried to kill him. Self Critique: Would love to RP more, but I tend to do so through narration and not through conversation. I will try to work on that in the next quest. I've tried to a few funny quips in here and there to show a lighter side of Hoke. What I really want to do is RP more with Vipera. Hopefully I can get on a quest with her again. Trying to balance out the fact that Vipera is a sentient being, soon to be a monstrous nightmare to her enemies and not a pet lizard. Thanks for the FUN quest! Look forward to questing with ANY of you soon!
  9. Just an FYI so that it doesn't look like I am trying to cheat, but I was given a Zoot's Cookie and not a Grand Zoot's Cookie and have said so several times, and it's been overlooked or ignored. Either way, since it hasn't changed, I guess I will keep it as a GRAND Zoot's Cookie. Extra BONUS!!! Also, I have Ether core listed twice in my inventory. Does that mean I have 1 or 2? Thanks for the quest Zepher!
  10. I believe only the effective gem will count. For example a sword with a diamond and a amethyst will still deal double damage to a demon. I stand corrected.
  11. Thanks for the EPIC quest Zeph!
  12. Eh, I'd rather hold onto that. With your current class, I just wasn't sure if you had need for the gloves.
  13. "Thanks, Cronk," Hoke hoarsely says as he pockets the Dragon Scale. The toll the quest had wrecked on Hoke was starting to set in. A few days rest at Heroica Hall would do him and the rest of the party well. He rolled the small yet deceptively heavy orb around the palm of his hand. The plaything seemed to have a thousand tiny fingers trying their best to hold onto Hoke's hand. Hoke looked at the orb again, then slid it into a small pouch tied around his neck.
  14. "They were valiant warriors. May their deeds live forever." With the heroes' companions laid to rest, Hoke looked at the remaining party members and could see that all were exhausted, physically, mentally and emotionally. He unslung his pack and sat down to rest. Then he noticed all of the equipment he had borrow over the quest and returned the items back to their rightful owners with thanks. "Should we return to the barracks? Do we have any business left unattended?"
  15. Yup. Care to trade/sell? "I believe I have what I want," says Hoke discreetly to Cronk as he closes his fist around the plaything. "Anything else would be a nice bonus. Also, I do have some interest in your Twin Broadswords." "Mayhaps a trade can be made for this topaz," Hoke says as he tosses Arthur the Hollow Bladed Dagger. "Have you given any thought if parting with that Healing Staff?"
  16. Ooooohhhh, shiney!
  17. Hoke sees the familiar dark orb amongst the ruin of the battle. He picks it up and rolls it around in his hand. He can feel the energies contained within as the orb seems to sink into his hand.
  18. LOOT for goodness sake, LOOT!
  19. Speaking of which, that should be a Zoot's Cookie in my inventory, not a Grand Zoot's Cookie, unfortunately. I also need back the Scroll of Frailty, Scroll of Weakening and Cultist's Hat. I need to give back a Topaz, Lt Helmet, Counterstrike Gloves, Zoot er Isen and Healing Staff, but I figured we would fix all that when loot is distributed.
  20. "Yes, let's gather our friends and leave this place."
  21. Hoke watched as the heroes pummeled on Wren's body. He knew the battle was over. It was won. He sheathed Vintul and slung the steel buckler across his back. He removed the helm from his head and let it fall with a discordant clatter to the floor. He slid off his gloves and let them fall as well. He rubbed his face hard with his hands and ran his fingers back through his tangled hair. Hoke looked around to behold the macabre scene all around him. The bruised bodies of fallen friends and the black pus like ooze and ash of the defeated Chaos Beasts. The quest mates that had survived looked like they were all holding back a torrent of emotion. Which emotions they were, Hoke did not know. He was not sure what was accomplished here. Did a deity die? Was there peace for Eubric now? No. No, there wasn't. There would be some other scheme by some other madness, and Hoke knew he had to be ready. He picked up the gloves and slid them into his belt. Then he picked up the helmet and approached the survivors, holding his arm aloft for Vipera.
  22. I think taking down the spires prevented Wren from becoming more powerful. So 53ers didn't technically weaken her but rather took away bonus stats.
  23. She started out at level 61 and has this: Passive Special II: Chaotic Power – Wren will be two of the three (Encouraged, Lucky, or Hastened) every round. [Round Five: Encouraged & Lucky] Wren being either Lucky or Encouraged has really messed us up. I really think to balance that out and truly be chaotic, she should have been able to be the opposite of those effects (Weakened, Unlucky and Slowed). I am not sure how Zepher set it up, but I think Wren's specials all should have been 50/50 positive or negative for her and her party to fit the whole chaotic theme,
  24. Just get to level 15 and become a Sage.
