Satisfied with the thermal dynamics of the fire, Hoke leaned the poker against the hearth and grabbed Vintul. He watched Nyx return with another bottle and hoped she wasn't overdoing it, but he remembered that strong drink is for those in pain. Her face was still full of pain, so he watched her sit to make sure she found her seat and turned back to Vintul. He unsheathed the blade and examined it in the fire light. The impressive blade survived the entire battle with Wren and her minions with narry a scratch. He had used the blade more to channel his etherial powers than to fight with it. He looked it over one more time and dug out a small oil flask and rag for his pouch. He wiped the blade down and returned it to its scabbard. Leaning back in his chair he pull the small leather pouch that was hanging around his neck and dumped its precious contents into his hand. He rolled the small silvery black sphere around his palm and let it settle in the center. He closed his eyes and let it speak to him...

Hoke looks up as the crusty old man addresses him and then looks back to the fire. "Arthur just gave you a good amount of gold, and you sold a mythril shard to a rogue recently. I'd say you're not in need of any gold. Sign up for a quest or other employment if you desire gold," Hoke said coolly but not unfriendly.

Hoke remained by the fire, strategically poking the embers and logs when the flames and heat seemed to die down too much. There were several conversations going in the Hall, but it seemed to all pertain to personal business. Hoke raised his hand to summon a server and ordered a meal and drink.

Sounds good to me!

Let's make this happen!

Hoke joined the slumped Lady Nyx by the fire. He didn't say a thing, just gave her a small smile and poked around at the embers. He watched the various conversations around the Hall, but did not have anything to add to them. Just sitting by the fire for now was fine for him.

YUP!
-
Ugh. When? Your quests are like crack.

"Glad you are back with us Ellaria. We really could have used a druid on our last quest," Hoke said to the resigned looking Ellaria.
-
I see how that is, but since they are being portrayed as less than ideal people to work with/for, it's going to be a stretch for Hoke.

The sad thing is that Hoke is a straight laced guy, and I can't see him doing anything Shadeaux-y (rim shot!). But in all Heroica concerned seriousness, Hoke may not make it to Dragoon...
-
OK, thanks. Checked the Expert thread and didn't see it there.
-
So I have to have 3 Shadeaux reputation to be a Dragoon since I have 1 Hinkwell reputation point?
-
Where is the list of rival houses located? I don't want to jeopardize my JP status and want to work on my Shadeaux status.

Hoke enters the hall and sees the new quest has been posted. Hoke signs up for Quest #63.

An awesome shield & armor for Hoke.

Looks like I will wait for lvl 24 to get WP 18 then. Thanks for the answer.
-
So for the Zoot's Plaything: does it round up or down? Right now, if Hoke uses it, the math says 16.5 (lvl 22 x .75), so would it be WP 16 or 17?

Hoke listened to the boisterous man's japes but said nothing. He took the final drink of his pint, quietly pushed back his chair and left the Hall for some fresh air.
-
"So I guess you want me to stay out of the basement," Hoke says with a wink.
-
Hoke entered the Hall and found a spot by Atramor and nodded in greeting. He ordered a pint and sipped on it for awhile. "Where's your fowl? Tis strange not to see you two together."

Needs some flare! Especially if with maracas! Haha!!!

Hoke entered the Marketplace. He rummaged through his pack to see what items he could possibly sell. He pulled out the Scrap Metal and sold it to a traveling merchant for 25 gold pieces. 233 + 25 = 258 gold He could feel that spring was in the air, but Elphaba was nowhere to be seen. He needed a garnet to finish his collection, so Hoke pocketed this gold and walked about to find a tailor.

If Cronk goes minstrel, I demand he has a costume change!

Hoke enters the hall from his room. His body is wracked with a mild soreness from the tense quest, but a little walking and some sword drills would work it all out. He let his eyes adjust to the slightly brighter main hall and view all of the familiar and new faces. Pockets of conversation, laughter and dealings dominated the hall, but a lone figure in a shady corner caught Hoke's eye. The gloominess seemed to comfort the crestfallen expression on Lady Nyx's face. Hoke thought to go to her to cheer her up a bit, but the way she clutched the bottle after the last gulp she took suggested that company was the last thing she desired. "Perhaps we all just need a little time," Hoke said to himself. He check to see if any messages had arrived for him while he was away, but none had come. With that, he left for the Marketplace to purchase some new clothing to replace the threadbare set he now sported. While walking out of the hall, he began to hum a tune to himself. He couldn't decide if it was a happy tune or a sad tune.
