  1. Yes it was here all the time all right. :) I even don't know if I as the topic founder can change the title / subtitle :)
  2. A riddle: How to transfer wolf, viking and basketball from the left bank of the river to the right bank?
  3. And why would HE be mentioned here? He wasn't the captain.
  4. I vote for Broadside. This choice is caused a bit by nostalgia - I remember when I was a kid and all my friends had one or more Rogers and I was the only one who had Broadside and I was quite proud of it. That was of course because he was so rare - he appeared only in 2 sets. So he was considered exclusive - unlike Roger who was almost everywhere. I got the first one with the Carribean Clipper and I still have him - I played with him so much that he's totally worn out - the buttons on his uniform no longer exist and his hat easily falls off his head. And only about half a year ago I got an Eldorado Fortress with Broadside looking good as new.
  5. Note that this poll is about favourite character, not favourite subtheme. And by characters I mean those who have names and can be considered as individuals, not just some anonymous sailors. I love the Spaniards myself, they just didn't fit into this poll.
  6. Just a quick reminder: Governor Broadside Admiral Woodhouse Captain Roger / Red Beard Captain Ironhook King Kahuka (all minifigs come from my collection except for Kahuka whom I don't own so I scanned his image from 1994 catalogue) The base for your choice may be anything you want - which of them is the most good-looking, has the best ship, is in the best sets and so on.
  7. Viking: Now, after me, repeat: Megabloks suck!
  8. So the guy I've seen use the name just messed it all up. So no one knows the Spanish leader's name? I need it for a poll I'm planning...
  9. Viking: Now tell me, where is your female?
  10. Just a question: The Soldiers had Governor Broadside as their leader, the Imperial Guards had Admiral Woodhouse. Was there ever mentioned what was the name of the Imperial Armada/Spaniards' captain? I've heard the name Cortez somewhere but it might have just been made up by some afol, I'm looking for an official name.
  11. Viking: I'll ask you again. What is that light sabre you mentioned?
  12. My list is now updated. Check out page 3 of this thread.
  13. Quite surprised by Star Wars' leading position (but don't blame me, I'm a fan of Star Trek myself) i voted for Pirates. And I suggest that you Pirate line fans out there gave it your votes :) Well you could always make TWO threads and that would make voting for 20 themes posiible, and so on... One of them can be chosen for posting, other(s) just for voting.
  14. :oo I have no idea why they made these when they already had older and BETTER versions of a palm tree, ready to put in a new set... Waste of time for Lego designers.
  15. That'll be nice. About Ghost Rider - I've been thinking about giving him a motorbike, but it's pretty tricky with those fiery weels and all. Here you can see other brickshelf user's version of the motorbike, it's pretty interesting.
  16. I must admit the Imperial Flagship is the most elegant of all ships (including pirate ones), when I look at it I almost see it sailing with a lot of grace. However IMO Caribbean Clipper beats it anyway with its size and amount of details.
  17. It was also continued in another A. C. Doyle's story. Is this guy at the top Dr Watson? If I remember correctly, he didn't witness the duel of Holmes and Moriarty.
  18. Still seems strange, after all wide hull sections didn't cease to exist and it's a pity Lego didn't release more soldiers' ships with wide hulls, but the small size of their ships is a popular subject anyway.
  19. I always wondered why ADMIRAL Woodhouse's flagship was smaller than CAPTAIN Broadside's :) And yes, it also appeared to me that these two guys didn't like each other.
  20. This captain definitely needs some crew :) I like it when people make good looking custom hull sections, like the whole part between bow and stern in this case. Inverted slopes at the sides would look better than normal bricks, however the way it is it looks surprisingly good.
  21. Yes, but I care about my crew :) The other feature similar to this is that in many Lego sets there are no ladders that would allow poeple to climb up to other levels - there are many examples in the Pirate line too, just look at the Caribbean Clipper, Red Beard Runner or Eldorado Fortress. I understand it's fun for kids when they can put their minifigs on higher or lower levels of a building/ship/whatever and they don't care too much how unrealistic it is to have more than one floor and no stairs or anything.
  22. I thought the hull in Harry Potter's set was grey and black, but I may've seen it incorrectly. I don't think the hull itself looks that bad, but I must admit I have only seen pictures of it, not the real thing (however I'd buy it if I had the chance to get just the hull, not the whole ugly set - I mean Redbeard's ship, well, I can buy the whole set just for some pieces but not at the original price). After all - making a hull like the one of the BSB but a bit wider wouldn't be much of a challenge for Lego designers and it would be great to have something even bigger :)
  23. As I wrote in another topic - Lego could take this 4+ Redbeard's ship's hull, paint it brown (or white, I tend to like white hulls), give it a total of 3 or 4 centre sections and make a magnificent warship with a lot of details, 3 masts, a total of about 10 sails, cargo bays and so on. This could be the best ship ever :) and would cost a fortune :( EDIT: Of course I'm talking about making a System scale ship :)
  24. Of course it would be great, however we mustn't forget that big ships will always be expensive, and that would be stopping many fans from buying them. Personally, I can really wait a few years for new pirates (I know I'm imagining things) and instead see how the Vikings line will evolve - I see great potential in it, but I'd prefer it more realistic - less monsters, more Viking villages, different factions ad so on. Then we can return to pirates...
  25. Future towns, but not from too distant future, rather something like the one in "Back to the Future Part II" - hovercars would be great!!!
