  1. Any speculations on the price yet? I am hoping for something in 90-100 usd/eur range. In term of part count it's comparable to 10194 - emerald night which is 89euro. It has fewer nuber of parts (1085), but it's train and more expensive because of that (it has metal axles, o-rings, magnets...). 10193 - Medieval Market Village costs 10bucks more but it has a lot more pieces (1600+)
  2. It's allready on S@H (US only), together with other TS3 sets. http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=7597&cn=644

LEGO Truck is now on S@H: http://shop.lego.com/Product/Default.aspx?p=3221
  4. Not for me unfortunately. Site is having good and bad moments and it sometimes loads very fast but after just a minute or two it will not open at all.

Hmm, interesting, because all are widely availbe in europe for a few weeks now (except trains of course). I think that LEGo is not so focused on "release windows" anymore, but is releasing sets month per month.

I have some pictures, but I dont beleive it's 8403. If it is, then it's very dull. EDIT: it is, but its lacking sun roof in front and I still think it's dull.
  7. I live in Slovenia so I have the same distance as you to that shop) (aroun 400km). I have been in that shop four times, but never with main reason to buy form PAB wall. You will understand why when you will see answers to you qouestions: how does pab wall works? You pick up a cup and fill it with what you want. When the cup is full you take it to cash register and they seal it with tape. do they have all the pieces available? Aboslutely not! PAB wall is made of 5-6 rows of boxes with maybe 20 boxes i a row. Maybe half of it is usable in larger quantities (bricks, tiles, plates, plants, roofs...), the rest is either usable just in small quantites (what would you do with more then a few dogs, clocks and so on...) or unusable (paradisa or bionicle parts, just left doors, windows without frame, wheels without tires or holders...). I'm not saying that there are no usable things there, just dont expect to find something speicfic. how are they sorted? on type of brcks in each boxes, boxes are placed (boxes with plates are not all together but scattered all over the wall) I mean: would it be possible to go there ask for some cups and with a list in my hand wander through the many shelf and pick up what I need? Of course, it's the the way this wall is meant to use (self service). Just dont expect to fill according to you list because selection is too limited for this. I usually first make an overview inspection of the wall to see whats available and then start with bigger items and fill up empty spaces with smaller stuff later. would it be a lot of money saver than buy directly from shop@home? (without considering fuel and hotel obviously): If ouy are buying specific items then no. Use Bricklink instead and you will save some money. Just to get an overview what was available on P@B wall in Munich one Month ago (just more interesting things): tiles: 2x2 red and yellow, 1x8 black plates: 2x2, 2x4, 4x10 black, 2x4 brown bricks: 1x6 tan, 2x4 light blue, 1x1 yellow, 1x2 red roofs: red and (limited black) clock, dog, plant leafs, palm leafs, flowers (just red and pink), windcsreens transparent 2x2 panels, 1x1 tiles, plates and cheese slopes (each just in one colour) and so on... So, you could get many usefull bricks, but none of those I would really want (1x1 and 2x2 DBG an LBG tiles, 1x wide bricks in medium blue, dark blue, red or tan, plates with 1 stud width...). But please dont get me wrong: LEGO shop is still worth visiting, you buy (or at least take look at) almost all exclusives, they have regular discounts and many things that are not available in other toy shops. Just do not treat P@B wall as your main reason for visiting, but rather as a bonus to all other things. And f you want specific brick you better use S@H or bricklink.

It's yellow LEGO delivery truck, that's sure.
  9. I paid: Eldorado Fortress without box - 45euro (32 + delivery) Renegade Runner without box - 17euro (10 + delivery) Cannon Cove without box - 13euro (10 + delivery) Forbidden island without box - 35euro (28 + delivery) Rock island refugee without box - 50euro (35 + delivery) Enchanted island with box (like new condition) 75euro (60 + delivery) Skull island without box - 50euro (45 + delivery) 12kg of pirate sets (BSB, CC, Eldorado, Sabre island, Forbidden island and many small sets nad minifigs - 270euro (225 + delivery) All on German Ebay with delivery to Slovenia. I have been following E-bay for over during purchasing of those sets and noticed that generally ships are way more expensive then land based sets.
  10. Wait for new trains in summer. Tanker has 6 stud wide cylinder on it.
  11. Yes, it also includes Germany. I think it was also in march lego store calendar. And this has nothing to do with GE, it's valid for all purchases. Similar was in december (you got 2 free cups, but you had to use them after the new year). BTW, I was in LS i Munich on saturday and PAB was crowded with people collecting their free christmas PAB cups. Hence, PAB wall was robbed of all usefull bricks.
  12. For me the best sets are those that at least try to look in scale with minifigs (MF, AT-AT) or dont include minifigs at all (1st death star,UCS destroyer). Second death star or Tantive IV are great sets, but are too out of scale and have too many "play features" to really look as "collectors" sets. So: 1. UCS Millenium Falcon (you just cant beat its size and part count) 2. UCS Star destroyer (very realistic looks) 3. 1-st death star (same)
  13. This set was introduced with RC trains, so as it is mentioned above, tracks are new type, made completely of plastic and in dark bluish grey, so they dont neither work with 9v trains neither look good next to them. Those are actually the only four new tracks that I have and I use them just in my display cabinet.
  14. It's good to count madals, but some are really worth more than just another number in the statistics. Like our ski runner Petra Majdic: she fell on the warm up session (part of track was unoprotedcet and she fell in 3 meter ditch) and was badly injured. She had horrible pains and was advised to retire from the games, but she refused that and ran 3 sprint races, winning 2 and was 3rd in the finale. She fell down after ever every race and had to be carried to the podium to recive the medal. After the race she was immediately carried to hospital and was dignosed to have four ribs broken. It's a condtion in which people usually hardly can walk, and are far from winning olympic medals. And I also just have to give comment about safety on this games: I think that these games are one of the worst prepared in a long time. In almost each competition which I watched some serios mistakes were made.
  15. This is also huge (A4 size, from 8258 Crane truck)
  16. No problem, I'm glad that someone else thinks (and see) the same as me. Im realy looking forward to the gearing which will change the gear on three different axis simultaneosly.
  17. Find the Hi-Res pic on Flickr and take a look at the sticker next to red lever. It could be clearly seen that it has two positions, on showing the arrows next to the arm and other one on the base of the excavator. So, my best prediction is that in one position we will control both thhreads and rotation and in other position we will operate three movements of the arm. This, at least for me, would be the best solution because it would mean that excavator would be really full remote control and that we could operate two or three movements of the arm at the same time.
  18. I think it's 9V because it's set up in a fair, where it's supposed to run at least 8 hours at a time, and several days in a row . So, besides 9V track there is probably also 9v motor on that setup. What can be seen coming from that swiths is flexible track, which really looks out of place on that setup. But that fair is anyway meant for large re-sellers and business people and i think that they dont really care about those deateils. It's just important that all current sets are displayed (i think that that's why flexible track is there)
  19. This is essential when using XL motors (very good and strong transimission of power): Technic Knob Wheel - http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32072 This also, but more fo M-motors (to protect gears and other parts): Technic, Gear 24 Tooth Clutch - http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=60c01 This when you need large reduction of turns: Technic, Gear Worm Screw - http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4716 This when you need to transfer movement thru moving joints: Technic Universal Joint, 3L - http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=bb320 For attachment o LA-s and as housing for gears Technic, Axle and Pin Connector Block 4 x 3 x 2 1/2 - http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=61904 Good for attaching wheels and other things: Technic, Axle 5.5 With Stop - http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32209 If you need to switch between transmissions Technic Driving Ring - http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6539 To lift or move something: Technic Linear Actuator with Dark Bluish Gray Ends - http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=61927c01
  20. All older large technic models were a challenge, but as I others I must point out 8880 and 8868. For me 8880 was harder to build, but that was manily beacuse I built it from bad computer scans. Otherwise I think 8868 is more complicated. From newer models of course 8455 and 8258, but instructions have really improved over the years, so you reall cant go wrong if you follow them carefully.
  21. Isn't it enough? With those wheels train looks childish, without tender it can be hardly called train and I havent even noticed the windows. I'm not a great fan of motorized version either, but it's at least a good part pack
  22. I agree, but as it seems this new version will be without all that, and more like this one: OK, I can live without proper train wheels (I have a lot of those), but if the design will be as bad as this one...
  23. You need to replace tan parts on soldiers fort and it will be ok. And I would place the fort on the right side of EF an rotateit 90 degrees. That would create a small port and enable crane on EF to handle goods around SF. It's an interesting idea however and it revived my thoughts on buying SF to add to my EF.
  24. Too bad... (from Brickset)So, no train wheels, no motor and no nice train parts, just a little more of the expensive licence stuff.
  25. I have Black Falcons Castle, Blacksmith and Guarded Inn, so I combined those. Here are some pictures (please have in mind that this was during first assembly after nearly 15 years and and bricks are very dirty: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=3435859 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=3435862 I have since then built back wall with parts from BL, but unfortunately I can not find that pictures.
