I choose bluecoats without a particular reason, probably because I have more of them I also use them combined into one army most of the time; my redcoats are used as cavalry then, and as the personal guards of my generals. Only when I make a Napoleonic scene, I divide them between Brits and Frenchies, and I use Pirate Captains torsos to form some German units (or Austrian Landwehr)

This one is just like the Castle knight impulse. Great way to build armies. I think that is about there sole purpose... If we hadnt these impulse sets, we armybuilders would have a much harder time finding them, even with bricklink, and there would be masses of incomplete sets since all minifig soldier would be bought by the armybuilders. GOD SAVE THE IMPULSE SETS !

Nice ! I hope he can swim Much detail!

After listening to his voice, I could hear his from Flanders too. That opens some interesting perspectives for me... Maybe he lives next door and I could rob his army... AARRHHH I mean: perhaps I could pay him a friendly visite and talk about the weather, politics,...

What do you mean to ask/tell with this post? Or is it because you want to show the pictures? Couse whe already have pics of them... I hope the Lego Company produces LOADS of the soldier impulse set, because the day it releases, its gonna be a race between me, Napoleon and probably some others to buy the most into our little country... (or perhaps we could form an alliance?) Do you wish to start a discussion/poll about them?

Would you let a fellow Belgian enter this project? Im realy looking forward to it, I have ALL the sets (most double/triple) of the first and second generation of lego pirates. None of the third however Im planning to buy one of each from the entire new line though! And I have 100ds of imperial guards/soldiers/... Listening to your radiointervieuw I couldnt help notice you have a flemish accent... I am from Berlaar (2590), a village next to Lier, and I also have an appartment in Brussels (mijn "kot" dus...). You wouldnt live somewhere next door any chanche?? I would understand it fully if you dont want to answer off course, I know many people love their privacy. But else, perhaps a little PM? PS: I am 25 years old

I agree, I think you especialy need something cruel to be added to your entry, since that is the theme. It looks very nice though ! And you can only do so much with 8x8

Still very well done, and Im speaking about your gallery too! As you know or may not know, I am a heavy Islanderfan.

CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
Zorro replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Yippie! Just a stupid questiopn from a newbie: 16X16 means 16 lego dots broath awide and deep? or cm or so? -
Always worth a try.. isnt it? And be honest.. if he truly did plant some shako to get some shako trees , arent the shakos better off with me then? Not to forget that I AM STILLM A PIRATE so its in my blood!
-
I bought mine when it was released, I still remember well since it was my first Lego pirate set and the store I bougt it in gave a free set with it because it was in promotion (the set with 2 imperial soldiers and 3 pirates, you know which one I mean) At that time, through a kids eyes perspective, it was a large fort. Now off course it just lookes like a small stronghold guarding an entry to a small harbour, especially when you have seen one of the O-SO-WONDERFULL Mocs of a fortress, but as I said, as a kid I DID see its greatness. Also the large number of soldiers it came with should be accounted for, you dont find so many in any other set, not even into the larger imperial trading post, and also not in the new fortress of the 2009 line!

QUOTE (Bonaparte @ Sep 19 2008, 01:41 PM) I want to see violence, torture, killing of innocent people, ... let the beast in yourself go! Give us rules and a theme... Or the theme will be...: the bloody end of Great-Admiral mister Phes! And yes, you obviously will be seeing much violence, torture, killing of innocent people... HaHAHAHA!!! (rude, crazy-eyed laugh) That... OR "The hanging of 3 conspirators (sik)" :pir-skull:

True, so very true, and since almost everyone agrees on the fact that the BSB is the best Lego pirateship EVER, most of us agree they like it (partially or completely) realistic! After all it is the most realistic ship of all.
-
Im in too! I posses my own little private armory of both classic and newer weapons, as well as some torture accessories... A HUNTER, A TORTURER AND AN EXECUTIONER !!! The poor bastard won't even see it coming...

Wow, 2 years+ since the last post... Anyway my opinion is the same as Mr. Phes and co.: Aye, im with Phes here. The fantasy aspect makes it fun and allows more room for general creativity, while going too far (as they very nearly did in PotC 2) is just rediciulous and not much fun for those of us who like PIRATES. - The Lord Admiral So PotC 3 is beyond the thin red line for me! Gods and Goddesses are not suited for this theme I think, the Kraken and some monsters are... If I had to choose however, I choose REALISTIC !!!
-
Please give me your adress so I can check they are er... well-planted ! yes, thats it..., and DONT FORGET THE RED FLAGS.
-
Indeed, I am the one with the crown under the shako-tree. For the ones wondering where I got my shako tree: you do the following: STEP 1 You plant, according to how many you want, 1 shako per tree into your FRONTgarden (MORE SUN THERE !) (about 5 cm deep into the ground, no more!) i suggest you start with 10 or 20 minimum, more is always better! STEP 2 Then you place a little red flag above it so you will not forget where to water it. STEP 3 You give me your adress so i can check if you planted them allright. STEP 4 YOU MUST GIVE THEM WATER EVERY DAY ! Also remember it takes about a year to grow a shakotree, if after a year you see no shako tree, you must have forgotten to water them at least once. No problem, please contact me for fresh instructions before (or right after) you plant them again. I also suggest planting some more then, after all: the more you plant, the more chanche you will have of growing a shako tree. A shako tree gives you about 70-80 shakos every month (summer and spring only), totalling about 450 a year!

This is a real-life pic of me in my garden, doing my daily walk.
