LDD 4.3 and Mac OS Yosemite
lego2lego replied to Jarren's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Make sure you report this to apple, so they can look at it and see if it is a problem with Yosemite. -
I just finished building this, however I ran into a problem. I probably did something wrong, but I am unable to mount the double wheels on the rear axles. There is just not enough length. I can clearly see on the few pictures that are floating around that it should be possible but I only have 2mm of axle left when fitting the first wheel. Anyone else have this problem?

I saw you submitted it, hope I didn't spoil your build of the fountain by posting it first. I'm going to look into partial renders, the best solution with these render times. And thanks for the new LGEO parts.

21020 Trevi Fountain - Architecture Download Errors: Missing tile 1x8 with text "Trevi Fountain" and the tiles on top should be dark bluish grey. .ldr file is correct, tile 1x8 with text "Trevi Fountain" is an unofficial part. Not entirely happy with the render due to the position of the model, but this one took 6 days and 13 hours to render, so no re-render. I really love models with transparent plates.......

Selling copied MOCs
lego2lego replied to Pat-Ard's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
To be fair, he is not selling instructions, but the whole complete model. If the price is good, that's not as much as a problem as people buying digital instructions and reselling them as their own. Just to say, one is allowed to sell their LEGO. -
Photoreal LEGO Rendering
lego2lego replied to Renderbricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The free version will become available in august, it's pretty high-end stuff, all pixar movies en big budget tent-pole movies use the software. I'm keeping my eyes open for this. -
It mixes fine, just use it for what it's meant to do. This year 11 technic sets have been released and last year 13. Sure not as much as city or star wars, but they are out there. Here in the Netherlands they do a fine job of giving all themes there space, so it doesn't seem overcrowded with city or star wars. As I said, don't worry, it will be around.

8860 Car Chassis (1980) - Technic Download Errors: Rubber bands on both chairs are missing as Lsynth doesn't allow for twisting it, and I had to resort to some tricks to get some things right. The rear suspension has to be compressed in order to have all wheels aligned, so the spring is a bit more higher up into the cylinder than physically possible. And due to the "challenging" way bricksmith let's you angle parts, I had to shorten the diagonal part of the steering axle to make it fit.

Problem bending tube 71986
lego2lego replied to Zerobricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I think you are overreacting a bit here. Excuses have been made and as far as I can tell nobody is offended except you for some reason. Furthermore, stating that you have to crawl on these forums to join is flat out ridiculous. I have seen adult people post MOC's looking like a 3-year old made them, and still get positive feedback (not only here btw but across all LEGO forums). I am relatively new on these forums and have never experienced anything like you are describing. It must be down to your interpretation of people of various countries and languages trying to communicate about a shared hobby. Chill out and you can be part of a great community. -
I don't know what software you are using LDD or a LDraw application, but there are some pretty good guides in these forums. I wish to answer your questions but I don't want to "pollute" this thread. Maybe your question can be moved (by an admin) to the relevant forum (rendering LDraw with Povray) and I will be glad to offer you some advice,

It's probably due to the angle of this specific render, spotted them in the others. cheers!

Ok this is a bug. You should add the letter "n" after "dash_4ri" so you get "dash_4rin100" This solves the matter and you will be able to render. I believe there is a conversion error in LDview.

Photoreal LEGO Rendering
lego2lego replied to Renderbricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The model (8070) is available here, it's without the flex axles but Blakbird did add them and made a render. Don't know why he didn't include it in the poster. So, yeah a lot of work. Beautiful renders by the way, shame it's quite an expensive piece of software for a hobby.
