  1. I don't remember who, but someone sent me an e-mail that one of my creations had been spotted here. I read the comments and decided to register to reply. I stuck around since then :)
  2. There goes that story...

    MOC: Limousine

Oooh fancy! :D I love the hood and grille. The darkened windows are also great. Excellent job!
  4. I think Hinckley gave me mine, they were quite foggy times. A friend was playing in traffic because I didn't have a light for his cigarette, and to make matters worse he had eaten a voting cubicle just beforehand. It goes without saying that in able to enter the antechamber there wasn't much of a rosebush left. Haha I even remember when she used to play the flute, I forgot her name, but she was always there in the background, even when there wasn't much noise outside. I felt that if I awarded myself a little trophy for every streetlight I passed by, I would feel much better about myself and my ability to dress for success. That's where Hinckley came in. I don't remember where exactly he came from or where he was headed that day, but he was short on time. I rightfully pointed out to him that if he made point A and point B the exact same place, he would never have to be in a hurry anymore. He didn't buy it, and ran on, past the horizon. I saw him a few more times in the following days, but didn't seem to pay much attention to his presence, at least not in a way my memory presses me to envision. I don't know precisely how it happened, a common state of mind for me, but there was suddenly a rather large obstacle in my way. Signposted and well dressed. All I could do was meow, meow until someone picked me up and put me by my food bowl. In space all we get is Starfish. I'm pretty sure that's how it happened. I could be wrong. Edit: A typo!
  5. I think it's just common sense which ones are ok and which ones aren't. Common sense applies online too, I'm sure if you think "Does the forum need to read this apology?" before you post, I'm sure anyone can figure out if what they're posting is ok or not.
  6. Cool stuff, I like the shape of those wings! The colour scheme is also nice :)
  7. I think the Skyscraper idea is a great idea as one part of this project. Regardless of whether or not people be able to get together with their modules. But of course skyscrapers are only one part of a city, I know there's lots of people here who also want to build fancy row buildings with roofs or completely separate buildings. Personally I like both, and think they should both be part of this same Community Build process.

    Pet Peeves

Tables piss me off to no extent sometimes. I just can't seem to be able to eat them in one bite!
  9. And after a little bit of planning (I usually don't plan much, I put 2 lines on paper and then I'm like "nah I can do this better with bricks" and I just go build), I've started building the industrial thing (haven't got a name for it yet), spent a few hours on it just now and I'm really enjoying this build already :D
  10. As usual we should be there with an unofficial Lowlug stand (we're also members of De Bouwsteen and are officially there as "De Bouwsteen", but we have a stand together with some Lowlug members). Last year you could recognize us from the big robot arena in the front and row of epic MOCs in the back, this year we'll be there with a slightly bigger stand as the expectation is now, and just generally more stuff.
  11. I too would like to see this continued, maybe even officialized. An official topic with the rules as we've decided them and who builds what. I'm building my 48x96 lot of heavy industry either way, but it would be nice if it also had a purpose ;)
  12. Very cool roller, it looks neat, clean and sleak, and fun to roll around the desk :) Good job on the details like the side mirrors and the exhaust pipe, those really complete this MOC.
  13. Hey Brickaholic (and the others involved in planning this) Can I have a 96x48 studs (that's two 48x48 next to eachother for the math-impaired) on the edge of this for a "big industry" zone? I'm talking disgustingly polluting factories with smoke stacks and everything. It can be on the outer edge somewhere because I realize 96x48 is hard to put somewhere in the middle of everything, and that would also make it more realistic: how many city centers have you seen with big industry right in the middle? If it's possible/allowed then I would hereby like to claim my 96x48 studs land lot for this big industry stuff.
  14. I agree with Hinckley for a change (you know I love you man) 32x32 isn't big at all in this setting. 64x64 is a good max for people who are up for it.
  15. I'm all sorts of game! I'm up for building one or more buildings for this, once we've got some clear guidelines etc. I'll let you guys argue about the rules and the tiles or plates, width of sidewalks, what kind of modules. I'm up for anything, really. I'll see when something concrete is decided and chip in with what kind of buildings I would like to make. I'm looking forward to that already :)
  16. Hah that's pretty cool :) nice paint brush effects.
  17. Hey guys, This is my new Model Team MOC, a compact indoor forklift, that completely works with Power Functions. Click the images for the full pictures. And a view from the back: It reaches quite high: And it fully works with Power Functions, remote controlled. It can drive back and forth, steer left and right, lift and lower the fork, and tip the lifting column forward and backward. Be sure to check out of the model in action :)And finally, here's the Brickshelf folder (don't worry, it's public).
  18. Ooh I'm digging that sign outside. Great how it sits further to the back creating that corner for the PETS sign. I can't wait to see the top of this finished too :)
  19. Here's my cat (conveniently next to a MOC of mine ;))
  20. Ah I see now :) Like I said I haven't been active on here for all that long yet. I completely missed these, even though I was a member already when some of these were held. *embarrassed* I can't wait for another contest and will be sure to build something for it!
  21. Hey thanks a lot for the responses everyone! :) Unfortunately I can't make instructions for this or closer pictures of the workings, because I already took this apart, I'm making something bigger and with more functions now :P (also Power Functions remote controlled). Maybe some of the pictures in the Brickshelf folder can help you guys in figuring out how it works? This I can do, I'm using the same remote control for my next Power Functions MOC, so I'll be sure to take a clear close-up picture of the remote control for you when it's done.
  22. If a Town contest has been held here before I don't know, because I haven't been around for all that long. But if one was to be held now, I would definitely build for it :) I'm a big Town fan! What kind of contest would you have in mind? Personally I'd be interested in every aspect of Town, from cars/trucks/buses to houses and other buildings to modular Café Corner style buildings to trains and trams, really. I say bring it on! :D
  23. Great stuff! Awesome work on those rocks and the rest of the landscape. The tower's shape is also nice :)
  24. Words cannot begin to express the awesome! I really love the look of this building, and you've used some great innovative building techniques to achieve that look. Excellent job on every part of it!
  25. This looks nice and old skool :) I like those stairs in the back that lead up to the upper deck as well, nifty little detail!
