Bricklink is a bit of a pain for inexperienced users and in the case of ordering rare train pieces like the bases for Maesrk or HorIzon Express trains its can be very expensive. I think people here just want a cheap and easy way to order directly through Lego.

I would be willing to find a few links to jobs in Canada for you. What are some keywords or roles that I should keep an eye out for?

Very strange that it would be sold out. It hasn't been a full year since its release. I think it may be a temporary shortage of stock. From what I've seen at my local lego store the train was very popular.

I'm not going to bother with the Target liquidation. I scoped out the place before they started clearance and they had next to nothing. 10 - 20% off is nothing special. Usually London Drugs has all of their Lego marked down like that for a few months around Christmas. I went to TRU in Calgary the other day and a large portion of their lego sets were marked down by 20%. Picked up the Cargo train for $183.

My guess was 42023 Construction-Crew but i realized it doesn't have any of the dark grey half pins. It would have to be a technic set with that assortment of spare parts. What is the average amount of spare pieces for a larger technic set? It seems to be too few for one of the larger sets.

The set number for this train is very strange. It suggests it will be a standard city train with track and motor rather than a AFOL focused engine. How likely is it that this is the case?

I will probably pick 60052 Cargo train. Not because I particularly like the set but because I need some of the basics to get me into Lego trains. This plan might change depending on what the 60098 Heavy-haul Train looks like.

The Parisian Restaurant is an excellent set for display and play value. I think you are going to have trouble using the interior for brick films unless you film towards the narrow wall of the building. The exterior is very dynamic and if you would make for a decent setting for your films. While you are building it you could modify it to have the back walls open.

Horizon Express is completely sold out on S@H for Canada now. The lego store has been without them for a few months now. I managed to order one during the x2 VIP promotion on Sunday. Not to sure if I will actually get it though. Its been 2 days and the item tracking still says its in warehouse.

It wasn't really a two wave theme. Didn't all of the sets come out at the same time in the UK?

It took months for the sets to show up in my area. Even when I went to the lego store in Vancouver they didn't have any. A high curve for the set prices with the cheapest set being 15 dollars didn't help this theme get to a good start.

I found all of the Galaxy Squad sets at my local target on for 75% off. Unfortunately it must say something about how well the theme has been doing as far as sales. Kinda sad as its been one of the better space themes so far. It was a lucky find at least. We filled the cab of my friends truck with sets.

What day is the vancouver lego store opening? I read somewhere that it was this weekend but I doubt its true.

For basic white bricks PaB is pretty expensive. Bricklink may have what you are looking for at a dirt cheap price but maybe not in the quantity you need. What captain green hair suggested might be your best option.

The new vancouver legostore is in oakridge mall and is opening around april 15. Kind of an akward time for it to open because its the last day of springbreak for some people. Its right on the canada line apparently which is nice, would take only about 20 minutes to get there from my granparents house in richmond.

Will the minifigures that are from the collectable minifig line be permanent or are they just placeholders? It seems sort of odd to make the minifigs no longer "rare". When i look at the wearwolf minifig i keep thinking it looks like a more sinister fabuland.

The chances of that are very slim. Halo is losing popularity and even though lego sets are getting more violent they would never base a childrens toy on a rated M video game. Lego making a collectable minifigure does not mean a new theme. The earth defense HQ has some great things to it. I wish the vic viper were a set on as its one of the best models in the theme.

But doesn't all lego look cartoonish? The old ghosts looked perfect,extra wrapping would leave it looking messy.

Theres some nice classic lego charm going on with this theme , it really is good to see them bring back the ideas from time cruisers and studios. I am however disapointed with the new ghosts as there isn't a need for them to change the older style ghosts.

The throne didn't have much of a part in helms deep. I'm sure if they make a set for the village they will have a throne.

Alien conquest wasn't very inspiring. Lego needs to make a theme that can stick around for more than one season. Hopefully they can bring lego space back to its roots of mini spaceships and exploration.
