Those few tan highlights though small really help to break up the blandness of dark grey. The whole design is very strong and mechanical looking , excellent work

You guys all disapoint me... Why haven't you mentioned Galidor yet , thats sadly considered sci-fi isn't it For a system theme I have to go for space police 3. Sure it has new figs and new pieces but the bad to good set ratio is kinda depressing. Most of the sets aren't very unique and most are just sets of tiny ships.

The lighting is kinda distracting when i look at it taking away from the goodness of this hoverbike. The wheels used as hover engines and the lights all over the front are quite nice and you didn't over do it either. nice work

I don't think there is a best sci-fi theme. Each one had it's own qualities and faults. Many people can't answer fairly either because they weren't around or into lego when most of the space sets started. My favorite is Exo-force because i'm a mecha junkie but it isn't the best.

Look on flickr for Examples and you should eventually find a design thats easy enough to use. Theres a few basic leg designs on my account and for cockpits use lots of snot and exoforce canopys.

I find the sets aren't good enough to actually make me want to buy them. The idea of it is intresting but not put out well enough. Black tron or M tron would be good if they didn't have a set adversary.I'd like the theme to just be blacktron ships. Thats all the theme is a parts pack. Engine designs from the first wave were quite nice though.

I don't know if space police is finished but they just came out with another wave of sets and the theme from the looks of it seems to be doing well. I personally hope the theme fails and we get a better space theme , something like a cross of mars mission and classic space.

Two of These would work well for making the legs wider and they are also a pretty common part now.

It's looking nice enough so far though the arms are kinda bleh. Since it's a wip i can't say too much about it. I really like the use of rubber band holders for feet. I guess you could use 2 halfpins with studs on top and 2 clips with a T joint to make it more articulated.

I build a second mech based on the chassis of this one and I bet you can guess the colour...grey!

The cockpit is nicely done and looks like it can fit a full interior. If i built this the legs would be bigger and more chunky.

Well done primus , It kinda reminds me of a spider with it's spindily body and the large waist and chest areas. The mixed eye colour adds alot to the evil look of this.

It's very nicely made. Reminds me of the wolfpack tower in its colour scheme. The tiles for detail in the walls is a clever way of avoiding the big grey wall syndrome ,where did you see it before or was it your idea? Good job sire

If i could have duplo animals in lego i'd probably go for anything from the caveman theme.I still love those smiling dinosaurs and little primitive duplomen

I don't really care if they have alt builds or not. The only good ones i remember were the fantastic exo-force ones and the fantasy castle ones . The alt builds for starwars and powerminers i remeber were pretty lame .

I like the classic design of the mechs cockpit .Even though you used new bricks and tecniques that we didn't have it still has that classic feel. I'd make the legs wider and more armoured , their length is perfect.

The vig is a little bleak for my tastes but i do like that MG mount on the baricade.

When i first joined these forums in early 08 There was only 3884 , pretty big increase in numbers eh. I don't know if a larger forum is a better forum though.

Thanks for all the comments The catapult's cockpit is kinda hard to do successfully and so is the scale , i feel your pain I always loved going into the arena with a flea trying to fight off pumas and with half my flea blown to bits with one small laser left and both legs crippled

I never expected you to present something this big, usually your creations are somewhat smaller. When you were working on this with tyler were you there with him building all the parts or was it a few visits and lots of emails?
