From time to time we'll have bonus events where you can earn extra prizes. We'll announce them here so keep an eye on this topic! To begin, for the month of Sept you can earn double XP for building a Postcard/Travel Flyer style MOC. Rules: Build a poster shot from a travel destination. If you can use photo editing software to make it look like a post card or travel brochure great! If not, try to use bricks to get that effect. If you can't do either then write up a description that would fit a travel brochure convincing people to come visit. Dates: Sept 5 - Sept 30. As long as it is Sept 30 somewhere in the world you can still enter to get double XP. All normal rules apply. EDIT: You may enter up to 3 MOCs for this bonus build event.

There are lots of instances where we've allowed discussion about other brands and their compatibility with Lego. The key to that is the word "compatibility." Those kinds of discussions happen in the relevant forums and we don't need 1 topic about it. We're not here to talk about out right replacing Lego with other brands. That discussion has a home, just not on a forum dedicated to talking about Lego

To each his own on using other brands. I'm 99% purist myself. Which means even I have a couple things that aren't Lego official. You can certainly talk about the use of other brands as long as you're not promoting something illegal like a stolen MOC being sold by other brands. Some of them comments in this thread have just started to shift from that kind of discussion to being more off topic. If you think you may be at fault and would like a specific example send me a PM. No one is in trouble here so I'm not going to call out any one comment, but we do need to keep things on topic. Which is parts that Lego produces that are available to buy on their website.

You have a lot of comments that contribute greatly to the conversation, so don't misunderstand what I'm saying. But we've heard a number of time about how you're happy with other brands. As this is a forum to talk about LEGO let's keep the conversation on topic.

Story-wise they can start anywhere. But your MOCs will only score points if they're posted in areas your team controls or has access to.

I lived near the Equator for 5 years. We still celebrated Christmas with a small Christmas tree and listened to "White Christmas." There was never going to be a White Christmas. But we sang it anyway. I opened presents in shorts and sandals. Did I resent other parts of the world for getting the cozy, idyllic Christmas when I didn't? No. Now you may be more resentful than me. You may want warm climate representation with your Christmas stuff. Or you may want only cold climate representation. Either way Lego has reasons for making both. Either enjoy it or don't buy it. But it's silly to attack your fellow human being over it. So let's get back on target.

Wow. I placed an order this morning and got one. Had no idea they would sell out so fast! I assumed I'd be able to get another one when I buy the castle later this week.

There are one or two exceptions I think. But for the most part all new 2022 parts and recolors have not shown up on the site yet. They took down all the 2022 pieces that had existed during the Jan and Feb interim.
