Thank you both for your detailed comments! I appreciate that you've taken the time to really look at the build. And MstrOfPppts, the fact that you took the time checkout how many wedge plates of that type fit together is astounding and borderline obsesive And I'm really glad you both picked up on the Igor reference, I had hoped it wasn't too obscure. All that beeing said, I'm really glad that each thing you pointed out were all things I thought about before finishing this build. I added the white and black to break up the bley. I didn't want the droid to be all one color. And for the hands, well there is only so much you can do with Lego pieces. What would you recommend MstrOfPppts for more "delicate" hands for the robot? Reverse minifig hands? For the wall, MstrOfPppts nailed it, it was added because the plates didn't connect all the way. It was a "quick fix" solution and I supposed if I had spent more time I could have come up with something better, so good point there. As for the white tiles, BeAVER I hadn't thought about using the symmetry of the negative space to my addvantage. I just wanted to fill in as much space as possible so I allternated the tile pattern as you can see. I guess that one is a toss up since the two of you both think it would look good one way or the other and I don't know which I like better. Thanks again for your detailed comments! I hope we will see you back here in the future. Your builds are inspirational! As if the orginal builds weren't great enough your vingette versions are stunning! The Rebels won't do as well without you. For as long as you are MIA you will be greatly missed.

If only for sheer numbers, I think the empire's going to win this contest. Though, this is a great start and a great example of Star Wars forestry, I think. Thanks for sharing Lobot!

I know just about everything good that can and should be said about this build has been said, but I just have to say it again, this is amazing! I love that you show your skill in both LDD and real bricks.

I've been on the fence about this set. Still not sure if I'm going to get it. It's a great parts pack for me, and I like the variety of minifigs. I don't normally spend more than $50 on a lego set because I try to limit my spending on it (my wallet still hurts often when I see a good deal), but maybe I can pick it up during a Christmas sale.

My next free build is up. Expect more freebuilds from me soon because I have more built, I just haven't written the story for them yet.

It's great to see some more of the story to this collab. Are we going to get more of it as time goes on?

Your minifigures and their backstories are indeed a selling point of this build. I love how much thought and detail you've put into each one. Things like pointing out that one of the crew-members made the flags her self and using unique piece combos (I love the inclusion of Ahsoka here!) is great! The ship is incredible too. While it may lack some of the realism of some of the ships in the GNAR contest so far, this one really jumps out to me as a favorite. I think it's because it's like something I would build. It's not perfectly smooth all over, but it's got a lot of things that jump out and say "NPU"! This ship is pure eye-candy for me. Thank you for obsessing for 2 weeks , I'm enjoying the results tremendously!

Sand Crab Attack! "Rough Edges" There's No Place Like Hoth For the Holidays Junkyard Search The Bridge We landed at the first spot the nav charts showed having any kind of medical facilities. It happened to be a mining outpost on an asteroid further away from the Core from Sullust down the Rimma Trade Route. I wasn’t used to flying any ship through hyperspace yet, let alone flying the Rough Edges by myself. I struggled to remember everything Yeoman had taught me in the past few weeks and drew on my knowledge of swoop bikes. I managed to get an emergency hail out to the mining post and landed the ship with a heavy reliance on the autopilot. Some of the prisoners from Sullust helped me move the unconscious Yeoman from the ship to the mining outpost’s medical facility. They assured me he would be cared for by the best medical droid in this sector. I found out later that it was the only medical droid in this sector. (In the medical facility) A droid rolls up to Yeoman who has been placed on an operating couch. “I am IG-0R,” it said with a slight mechanical flaw to its voice, “a refitted mining droid who has been re-programmed with all manner of medical knowledge. Please relax as I prepare you for the operation.” “Aren’t you going to give me any options IG-0R?” asked Yeoman. “Ah,” it replied, “Of course, I forget my programming. First, would you like me to replace your leg or just cauterize the wound?” “Oh, well,” Yeoman stammered, “Replace it I suppose.” “Excellent, I have not have the opportunity to try this particular operation yet.” Yeoman wasn’t sure, but it seemed as if the droids eyes twinkled a bit as he said that. “That doesn’t fill me with confidence droid,” Yeoman tried to start but was interrupted. “And now for the next option,” he started. “Would you like the synthetic wood model? It is very popular among space pirates I’ve heard.” Yeoman just stared dumbly at the droid. “Or perhaps you’d prefer the claw leg version. It is most popular among the Zabrak race I’ve heard” IG-0R continued. When Yeoman didn’t respond to that choice either he proceeded with the third and final option. “I can tell you are a creature of… refined taste in synthetic limbs. Here is the best leg I have available. It is one that once belonged to the chief engineer of the mining equipment here.” Yeoman was still staring dumbfounded at the droid, but managed to find his voice when the droid said that. “You’re saying it was already attached to a creature before?” “Well it was,” it said, “Before the mining accident a few months ago. This leg is so sturdy it withstood the entire cave-in. It walked out perfectly intact, dragging it’s dead owner behind it.” Yeoman didn’t think his mouth could open any wider but he was wrong. “How is that possible?” “A fault in the mechanical programming of the leg” IG-0R said, “the last command the leg received it continued to carry out without a brain to give it another order.” IG-0R rolled around grabbing different medical instruments. “I can tell you are quite taken with this limb. I shall now proceed with the surgery.” Yeoman tried to get out one more reservation, “Don’t limbs need to be specifically calibrated to each individual before being attached?” “That’s the beauty with this particular model, it’s fully customizable by any certified droid.” With that, IG-0R applied the anesthesia and Yeoman didn’t have a chance to say anything else. (A couple days later) We were able to get all the wounded treated pretty quickly except for Yeoman. He needed a couple days of rehab to get used to his new leg. I had sent word via a secure channel to some of the rebel leaders and they had a arranged for a freighter whose captain was sympathetic to the cause to pick up all the former prisoners. Yeoman was also going with them. It was decided that he would be of better use helping the Mon Calamari considering his aquatic background. We parted ways outside the Rough Edges. “It’s going to be lonely without you around Yeoman” I said. “Somehow I think you will manage one way or another. You are a very resourceful person MKJoshA and a great asset to the Rebellion” Yeoman responded. [Natolyth pulls out a chair for the approaching wizard.] Natolyth: Welcome friend, may I buy you a drink?

This is probably the most fantastic Lego build I've ever seen. Ever.

This whole ship is amazing! However, there is one thing that absolutely stands out to me more than anything else as awesomeness, and that is the flesh hands on the monkey. That is such a perfect touch!

Beautiful ship. As was mentioned before the slope piece you use at the prow gives it an amazing feel of sleekness. And great minifigures!

[Natolyth watches all of the activity in the tavern with interest. The Grand Griffon has started to fill up with patrons. He wondered if any of them would have the answers he sought. He watched Morgan enter and his hopes grew that perhaps a fellow mage would be able to enlighten him on the matter of the Drow. As Master Gabbold was no longer tending the bar there was no one to direct travelers to Natolyth. Master Gabbold was probably over seeing the ruckus that was coming from the kitchen. A number of the patrons looked impatient for their food, and judging by how black the smoke was that was pouring from the kitchen they might be waiting awhile. Natolyth nursed the thought that perhaps he would need to introduce himself to Morgan as he finished his Ice Ale. He had wanted to remain inconspicuous, but he also didn't want to remain away from Mitgardia for more than a few days. He decided to give it a little while longer, the night was still young after all.]

[A traveler with a green cloak and a oddle shapped staff walks through the door of the Grand Griffin. He looks around the room but, not noticing anyone he recognizes, walkes up to the counter.] Green Cloaked Traveler: "I'll take an Ice Ale good sir." Master Gabbold: "Ah, you must be from the beautiful land of Mitgardia, not too many others blood is up to icy chill that drink gives." Green Cloaked Traveler: "You're observation skills serve you well Barkeep. I am Natolyth, hailing from Dålig Ulv of Mitgardia. I am here seeking answers." [Gabbold hands Natolyth his Ice Ale] Master Gabbold: "Well, depending on the answers you seek you might want to try those tables under the balcony." [When Natolyth shows no inclination to move to the tables suggested Gabbold continues rambling while cleaning some glasses] "There are many travelers these days. The unrest in Nocturnus and Avalonia bring many people through here. Why just the other day would you believe that we had a cyclops here! He mentioned something about dealing with the Drow. I've never met a Drow who was willing to pay for a drink or a bed so I try to avoid them myself, when possible." [Gabbold shivers at some unmentioned memory, no doubt having to do with a run-in with the Drow] Natolyth: "What a coincidence that you would mention the Drow." [Natolyth sips at his Ale and looks down at his skin as parts of it turn blue for a moment before returning to it's normal color] "It just so happens that I'm here seeking answers about some questions I have concerning the Drow. My companians and I had the misfortune of running into a group of them who did not take kindly to our passing. Obviously I did was not on the losing end of that 'encounter.' My question is regarding their fighting style." [Gabbold raises an eyebrow at that] "It seemed to me that they fought almost silently, no grunts, no shouts or any other noise. I'm currious if you've heard if they have any relation to some of the private assasians I've heard of before, Nunjas were their name, if my memory serves my correctly." Master Gabbold: "I'm afraid that I cannot answer your questions Natolyth. Information of that nature often comes with a price much higher than someone as simple as myself is willing to pay. However, if you wait here long enough you might meet someone who would be willing to share that with you." Natolyth: "It seems then, that I have need of a room for awhile Master Gabbold." [Natolyth slides the money for the drink and room across the counter] "This should cover me for a few nights at least." Master Gabbold: "Yes, that looks to be in order" [Natolyth then slides some extra coins across the counter] Natolyth: "And I'd appreciate it if you directed anyone with valuable information my way." [Natolyth leaned in a little closer] "But I'd apprecaite it even more if my name remained off of the noteworthy guest conversation list that the cyclops has the pleasure of being on." [Natolyth then got off his stool] "For now though, I'm going to enjoy the rest of my Ale over at that table."

I think this is a great build overall. There are a couple things that seem a little random to me though. Like the green frame around the wooden window at the top of the tower, the sparseness of the leaves on the tree holding the vulture warrior, and the way the plates overlap for the back of the base in the last picture. Tiny little things though, overall this is great!

I always love seeing your builds. This one is no exception. Great minifigure posing and great story!
