Newb Question - Regarding Black Falcon use in Historica.
MKJoshA replied to DungeonsAndFlagons's topic in Guilds of Historica
And don't rule a guild out just because of the pieces in your collection. I almost did that with Mitgardia because I didn't have a lot of white bricks. But I'm really glad I joined it and the lack of white has not been an issue at all (though I have since increased my number of white bricks). -

Ah, figured it out. I haven't responded to the chat so it doesn't show up as a new email whenever someone contributes to the conversation. Thanks Simon! -
Newb Question - Regarding Black Falcon use in Historica.
MKJoshA replied to DungeonsAndFlagons's topic in Guilds of Historica
It seems Mitgardia is being under-represented in this topic so I'll chime in. We have the best guild by far. Where else can you get frozen yak as a daily snack? It's absolutely delicious! And as kabel said, there are many areas without snow that can be represented in a build, but we also have the pleasant option of adding snow to any of our builds whereas it's a stretch for any of the other guilds to be able to enjoy a good snow-ball fight now and then -
So, what are the limits for where the Rebels can search? Are all planets up for grabs?

As everyone else has said, this build is fantastic! I especially love the swamp you've put the boat in and the cheese-slopes on the ram in front. Great work!

DG, I'm not in the email, discussion thread. Is it for Avalonians only? -
I don't have the stealing-legos-from-my-children issue yet, but I know it's a good one to have. My wife and I hope to have that problem sometime in the future.

Well, the last two pictures are about 98% of the MOC in each picture. I figure that was enough. Here is an additional one just for you:

Yes, everyone seems to love the axe . That makes me quite happy I was really happy with the hill myself. Some ebay auctions and PAB trips means I finally had enough bricks and plates to pull it off. -
I struggled with the ground. I wanted it open enough for the wedding pictures, but I also didn't want it bare. I tried to strike that balance by adding more greenary on the ground along the path. I didn't want to add stones to the path because I wanted it to seem like a well kept garden, and what gardener would allow pebbles and stones to be scattered across his freshly raked dirt path? But maybe I should have added some "stones" amongst the greenary along the path. Thanks!

Thanks Gunman! Do you have some examples of the vertical wood supports? I'm not sure if you mean built into the walls or SNOT'd onto the outside. -

Thanks guys! Good! I'm glad you like it! Yeah, I like how it came together. I'll probably continue that style in more buildings for my city. Yes, I thought about that too. Any suggestions for improving it? -

Glad you all like the trees! I've been working on perfecting my tree making abilities and still have a long way to go. Part of it is my shortage of Lego foliage. I've been building up my collection at the PAB wall, but almost every tree piece I own so far was used in this build I was less than pleased with the square shape as well, but I lack the tree pieces to round it out more. I tried to make up for it with pictures that hid the squareness of it, but obviously I couldn't hid it completely . I'm glad you like the axe, I do too! -

Thank you! I had fun working with the different angles on the walls using all the Mines of Moria slopes I've collected. Thanks! Glad you like it Probably as much as I look forward to seeing more of Vladivus' story! -
Thanks guys! Well, the guards are acting as witnesses to the wedding so the direction they're facing is to be excused That was the general idea behind the hairpiece . Yes, we aren't all barbarians . Thanks Gunman!

Thanks HammerBro! I only wish I had a dark bley head to go inside. The black worked ok though Thanks! I've been fiddling with the globe stand idea for a long time. Finally got it to look the way I wanted it to Thanks! I was a little dubious about it myself, but I'm glad the idea has fans!

Thank you! Thanks! I found those boxes in the PAB wall at my Lego store and just had to pick up a dozen to use for this Thanks everyone! I've been planning the semi-circle part for a long time. Glad you all like the finished product I'm glad someone else knows their history! I used the same character in my GNAR build, but no one seemed to pick up on the connection then.

Thanks! I want to find more uses for the weapons that come in that small poly bag that Lego seems to through into random sets. Yes, such is the nature of Lego. Either you get studs, or you get smooth tiles. Since I don't have any of the sticker'd wood-grain tiles, I chose the regular flat look Thanks! That roof took a little while to figure out. It only works with a small incline, but at least it works Thank you Gunman! -
MOCs, how much do they end up costing?

MOCs, how much do they end up costing?
MKJoshA replied to psdillon's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It really was just me wanting it to be under $30. I didn't actually run any previous calculations besides the "oh, it should be about that much" thoughts. There were a couple specific pieces I needed in higher quantities so I went through the first few shops that had those plus the other pieces I needed and ended up shopping from 2 stores totally $60 between the 2. I guess the only thing I could have done better was shop around more but that would have taken so much more time and I already had put a couple hours into it.
