  1. Thoses versions of Alfred and Bane are amazing! And Catwoman's goggles are brilliant. I'm hoping for very over the top sets of the Batcave and the Batmobile. It seems like the Lego movies are going to be the source of the most creative sets and products.
  2. :( That's such disappointing news but not too surprising since the Lego's last fantasy line based on a movie, the Hobbit series, didn't seem like it lived up to expectations. I certainly will pick up the Dementions packs up. It sounds unlikely that Lego will make sets on Fantastic Beasts at all, I wonder if they will bring the Harry Potter line back?
  3. Thanks for the information CM!
  4. That would be excellent, thanks! Do you happen to have any details about which characters are included in the packs, CM?
  5. Wait...do you know for a fact that there won't be any sets or is this just a general sense of concern?
  6. Seconded for Snape! Bringing back the HP line would give Lego the opportunity to fill in some of the missing characters they didn't make the first time like Shacklebolt or a Black in civilian clothing. And they could bring back some of the more rare mini figures like Mad Eye. As for Fantastic Beasts, we just need more magical secret castles and buildings period.
  7. The Harry Potter line was always my favorite because it was the line that brought me out of my dark ages. In fact, my greatest regret for Lego was not buying the most recent version of Hogwarts castle. I would imagine that the potential upcoming winter line would give us sets from both franchises, similar to what we saw when Lego made sets for both old and new Indiana Jones movies. Just based on the pictures that have been released for fantastic beasts, there is so much potential for amazing sets like the American Ministry of Magic and the American version of Hogwarts. Not to mention that it will be nice to get a line based on the 1920s. I hope we get a list of sets by this coming summer!
  8. Apparently the black helmets belong to Imperial elite troopers called death troopers and the yellow helmets belong to a hybrid scout/sand-trooper. No matter what they're going to look fantastic in Lego form!
  9. Take this with a grain of salt, but it sounds like the cover artwork for the rogue one sets will be the helmet of the black death troopers that was posted on Twitter a while ago. 10. So here is a bit of speculation (simply a guess on my part in case you weren't sure) on what we might get for Rogue One sets based on SVL's info and information directly from the movie itself: 5 sets $20 Rebel speeder $40 AT ST $80 black and white X-Wing $100 Empire Transport $150 Slave 1 So...Ninjaed by SVL. Maybe replace the X-Wing with the strange Rebellion ship with rotating wings? It would be nice if it were this one but the potential price count would probably be too high.... http://collider.com/star-wars-rogue-one-details/ I could be way off but it is always interesting to speculate.
  11. Nah, I wouldn't second guess J2G. He's about the most reliable source of information around here and if he says it's happening, you can count on it.
  12. The Resistance Transporter is $60 at Target in the U.S. per this morning. Hopefully some of the other sites like Amazon and toys r us will follow soon and match the Target price on Takadona and the Transporter.
  13. I'm not trying to crap on your parade but man I sure hope Lego fixes that terrible engine connection on the x-wing. I cringe every time I swoosh Poe's x-wing and the engines shake like a bowl-full of jello.
  14. Nice! Can I ask where you picked them up?
  15. CaptainRex101 over at Brickset gave a rather positive review of the Battle of Takadona if you are on the fence about picking it up. I find his reviews are always well done and unbiased. Just to warn you, there are some spoilers in the article. http://brickset.com/article/18420/Star-Wars-The-Force-Awakens-How-do-the-sets-compare-to-the-film
  16. If you can hold out until summer I would imagine Finn would be in a cheaper set. I could be wrong but with Finn being one of the main characters Lego should put him in as many sets as possible. At some point one of those sets should be at a reasonable price point. Then again, with TFA tax jacking up the price of each set by 220%...
  17. I'm only interested in the figures in the Takodana set. Finn and Kylo alone are going for close to $30 each at many aftermarket venues so those two justify buying the set in my eyes, especially since I don't want to buy another version of the MF or that shuttle. But I do agree; the set is $15 too expensive but that has been the MO for all of TFA line. The best way to change Lego's mind on their pricing is to vote with your wallet.
  18. True but none of those movies are even close in comparison to SW in regards of merchandising. I mean, TFA is on target to be the first movie to rake in 3 BILLION dollars. That sort of exposure sells a lot of Lego. I would be very surprised if Rogue One doesn't command the same number of sets as TFA line.
  19. BigEl, you bring up excellent points. Especially the idea of iconic characters being the selling point of the movie. However, I expect Disney to have a Force Awakens size push when it comes to merchandise and Rogue One does have the potential for some amazing sets like Yavin and a Death Star play set based on the little we know about the film.
  20. ^ This. While I agree with most of the points folks are making in regards to the hype of rogue one, Disney has proved that they are masters of marketing. They are following Lucas' footsteps in regards to knowing that the real money comes from merchandising. And since Lego is arguably the biggest toy company in the planet I have a strong suspicion that we will get a full line of rogue one sets come this summer due to the push from Disney.
  21. Sure thing, brother! http://www.ign.com/wikis/star-wars/Star_Wars:_Rogue_One I am interested to see if the hype for the Rogue One 2016 summer Lego sets will reach the fever-pitch that the Force Awakens ones did. I don't think I have ever seen this board in such a crazed state before, with everyone on the edge of their seats waiting for a scrap of news or a glimpse of a leaked picture.
  22. I share your excitement about potential rogue one sets! Especially the possibility of getting that large snow speeder/ gunship that we saw in the officially released movie artwork from a few months ago.
  23. I typically HATE brick build figures but that Giantman is amazing! The Quinjet is a bit redundant but to be fair, in comparison to its predecessor, it seems to be the size of fighter rather than the transport that the Avengers Quinjets were. I am sure that the size is due to sharing the brick count with the tower and Giantman. At least it is somewhat of a different shape and size as the others. I'm not really feeling Panther's jet or Crossbone's truck, but to be fair, Lego only can work with what they are given from the studio. Mini-figures are definitely going to be the driving force behind these purchases. These sets are coming out in March, correct?
  24. Holly hell...that may be the greatest collection of high-level MOCs I have ever seen...
  25. That B-wing looks amazing! Has anyone seen it before in some of TFA preliminary art? It caught me by surprise. The Rebel battle pack has one of the best mini figure selection ever in a battle pack. The rumor list has far too many figures in it to be true. Pity, it has some very desirable ideas in it.
