Technic in Design Limbo?
Eigenbroetler replied to allanp's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well the real thing is made of steel, and not plastic. Realism? Then pneumatics in front loaders are out the door, bring in the hydraulics! and messy oil everywhere, building hydraulic machines is messy, so now its realistic. Full metal build, complete with nuts and bolts, hydraulics, and with 20 pounds of electronics and computers, that would be a fun build! but hey, its LEGO and i think TLG makes a good job that suits the target group (not us adults) well. my 2 swedish krona. -
thank you, Here it is in motion, i dont have so much room for a big layout...

Today i rebuilt the front of the train to add some lights! the light takes power from the 9v motor. And i added som more weight with big "train weights" bricks. this is the result:

Yes they roll very smoothly in corners, even at full speed they run great, they dont tip over i think the shared bogies made everything more stable, and with a lot less friction, since its only about half the amount of wheels and axles.

you are right the is the stock 3677, but thats not "the build" the cars are the build, and when i started building them, i had not seen the maersk train, but when i saw it, i had already decided about the design and didnt want to scrap it just because they looked similar. but hey, the maersk cars dont share bogies ;) well i will try to get better pics, when i have time and daylight... but i still only have my phone camera... here is an updated picture of my 3677 engine, converted to dual 9V motors and no batterybox, and a lot more tiles.

Hi, this is my first rolling stock moc its a 5 wagon container train, with shared bogie. i have made a total of 10 wagons, 2 sets of five wagons each. i didnt even notice how much it looked like the maersk train wagon until it was finished. (i never owned the maersk) well im not a good photographer, so here are som crappy pictures: let me know what you think.
