Updated: [MOC/CUUSOO] Star Wars Combineable Battlepacks
DrLegostar replied to samiam391's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hoth? On the base during the invasion? -
It's actually the same castle. It started off multicolored, then I converted it to black white and grey, then to all grey. There were, of course, changes in the architecture along the way, but the basic design remained through the color changes.

Thought I'd post this, it's not around anymore, hasn't been for a while, but it's still something I'm immensely proud of. You can see more of it in the gallery, and the village with it. Wish I had the space to build on this scale now.

Every time I see this it seems to get more awesome.

This is an excellent idea, and could be very lucrative for LEGO, hope it makes it through! -
I'm in awe. And a little be terrified. I guess that's the point. Love the attention to detail.
-
Well built, fits in really well with the other modular builds, I really like it.
-
I gotta say I love this little town set up. It makes me really nostoglic for the towns I used to build when I had the room to spread out. You've done a really great job with it.
-
Very nice, I like all of the little decorative details.

LEGO Display Shelves - Share Yours
DrLegostar replied to Paul B Technic's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I built my own as well. This picture is from a while back, so what's on the shelves has changed, but for the most part this is how it looks. -
The storyline in the comic I did which prompted the start of the whole building of the library can be found here http://www.legostargalactica.net/2012/01/02/01022012/ There are meager views of the various rooms which are acting as inspiration for the parts of the larger mansion I'm working on, so yeah, there's that.

Other explanations just seem so much funnier.
-
You're only helping my point now.
-
That explanation would make more sense to me if the pants were white, or light blue, or in any way went with the princess's outfit.
-
Sorry about making it it's own topic, didn't see this one.
-
I stumbled across this set on lego.com today http://shop.lego.com/en-US/My-First-LEGO-Princess-10656 It looks cute, lots of bright colors, some white picket fences, one of the new horses, the princess isn't a bad minifigure and it's not expensive. Then I noticed the random pair of black legs. They don't really look like they'd go on the princess, why not white for her? So what's up with that? Half a prince? Did the prince leave his pants behind when he heard the king knocking on the door? Thoughts?

You know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and microfigs.

Excellent MOC. Though somehow I have the feeling that the cyclops is going to brush off that boulder.

Identifying Collectible LEGO Minifigures by their weight
DrLegostar replied to bartneck's topic in Special LEGO Themes
How precise is that little scale? What's the minimal weighable quantity? To that end, how precise are these apps people speak of?- 40 replies

Okay, now here's the game, see if you can spot all the references to Collectible Minifigures. Not to mention other themes.
-
Too big to deal with at the moment, which is why I'm having to build it in pieces.
-
Wasn't exactly sure which forum to post this in, but it seems mostly town related seeing as I'm working on the whole mansion. Started with the library as part of a Clue storyline and it kinda... kept going. More pictures in my Photostream.

Either the Skiff or jabba's palace, but I haven't had a chance to get the latter, so I'll have to stick with the Skiff.
-
This is amazing. I love it! Wanted to do something like this myself, but never had the time to go to this kind of scale, and honestly I'm not sure I would have gone this big. Ended up making a much smaller version that really pales in comparison. Very well done.

Identifying Collectible LEGO Minifigures by their weight
DrLegostar replied to bartneck's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I love this system from an entertainment standpoint. Next time I buy figs at my local Target instead of "feeling them up" I'm going to take them to the pharmacy and have them weigh them for me on the electronic balance.- 40 replies
