  1. Thanks a lot! And yeah I doesn't look too much like a Beetle but its pretty similar, that was the hardest part of the build for me. ^^
  2. Wow that looks great and I actually quite like it in black! :)
  3. I'm looking forward to this, hopefully some pics of the suspension? I am always interested in how people construct tatra suspension in the Lego world!
  4. Thanks! Next time I'll get some outdoor clips! :)
  5. Yeah I saw the video this morning! One question though, what's so good about internal gear reduction?
  6. I actually painted the 56 rims too (I think). I used a company called Rust-Oleum's "direct to plastic paint"
  7. Thanks, I think I'll put a video up in a few days.
  8. I've sprayed wheels before and it turned out really good, I sprayed them black with a plastic paint that required no undercoat. As long as you do it in lots of thin layers with enough time in between painting the next layer you should be fine.
  9. Wow, excellent performance! But the old tires made it look like something from formula offroad. ;)
  10. Ok I've finished the body, here is a link to my Flickr for y'all to have a look. http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/92293857@N05/
  11. Well, I got a little work done today. http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/92293857@N05/8745590138/
  12. I like it, I think your's will have better aesthetics though. :)
  13. Well I don't usually build on Wednesdays so there won't be any more progress today (apart from a drawing I did at the back of class ;))
  14. I can't wait to see the physical version, but why L and not M motor for steering?
  15. Thanks. Maybe this pic will help too: http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/92293857@N05/8738486159/ Also, I started building the body today, it's gonna be red with a white bonnet and boot lid. http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/92293857@N05/8739605596/ Not the greatest picture but its the best I could get as its getting dark outside.
  16. Yes it's quite high but the centre of gravity isn't too bad. It's the only way I could mount the battery box without the M Motor hitting it when the suspension compresses.
  17. Yeah actually! The final gearing is 1:3 but because of it being very light it still crawls even better than any of my other MOCs
  18. Hi all, I just thought I'd start a topic to document my current project. I've built a chassis and I just need to add the final touches to it. After that I'm going to start (trying) to make a body. I'm thinking of making a classic VW Beetle style body but we'll see how it goes... 19. Oh wow that is absolutely perfect! I'm jelly ;) haha, I can't wait for the video!
  20. I like the mudgard idea but are you sure you need brakes? I think they would be pointless in this as it doesn't look heavy enough to need them.
