  1. Very nice, indeed! The realism is wonderful, and it doesn't look like it's too much bigger than the City scale.
  2. Thanks, everyone! I'm glad you all like the blender so much! Athos, I had a little trouble with that, too, but I couldn't find any way to make the console smaller, and I wanted the blender to have a handle. TheBrickster, I'm glad you like the Colonel's popcorn. Most people in my town have wordplay-related names (such as the disc jockey D.J. Redo, store owner Lois Price, Mayor Maynought, etc.), and I couldn't bear to have my Wild West characters sitting in my minifig box (thus, you can also see Mose Yover, the old cowboy, sitting on the bench)
  3. I also will keep from voting. I have only the dark bley roadplates, but I think that the different ones are nice for different things. The green ones really are best for country roads and such, as sidewalks are usually present even in the suburbs.
  4. So, I've made a few more MOCs and mods for Rossville. Please tell me what you think. First up is a four-piece blender. Sorry, Hinckley, not trying to outdo you in minimalism here--yours was just more Fabuland scale, and was too big for my classic town house. Here is the Colonel's popcorn stand The sports car set modified with doors some better-fitting wheels: And, finally, a new shot of the town hall. I've tried to give it a more complete feel, incorporating the fountain (which I also designed), some park benches, and the like.
  5. Thanks! Gondortoast, I hope to make more in the future. Klaus-Dieter, I do have an interior shot of the fish & chips stand, thought it's nothing spectacular:
  6. It is, indeed. I finally figured out who Snake reminds me of: the Pale Man from Pan's Labyrinth! (el laberinto del fauno)
  7. I also really like the mix of official sets made into an MOL (my own layout?)
  8. My beautiful wife just bought me this set It really is great; its size does give it the feel of a space semi. Although the crate doesn't have a locking mechanism, it still stays in place quite well. The stickers are great; the graffiti is particularly cool (though I can't make out what the large red one says--is it Snake? Spyrius?), and I like the faded "Cargo" sign and logo--yet another City/Town reference, like the Octan logo on the Skull Twins' jacket. And, I have to say, Snake is creepily awesome.
  9. Thanks! I remember seeing a somewhat similar fish in The Ultimate LEGO Book. Unfortunately, I no longer own the book. That does mean, however, that I had to create my own. How about the town hall--does it look "classic town?"
  10. Hello, everyone! I give you a section of the town of Rossville! (Named by my wife) There are many people hanging out around Rossville, including the disc jockey D.J. Redo, the cowboy Mose Yover, store owner Lois Price, and the banjo-strumming duet, Abe and Jo. Now, please allow me to show you a few buildings. Due to my limited space (spanning only a few shelves), I have decided to go for a classic-town feel; I hope I've done a decent job. Since my house is essentially the same as set 6388 (the few modifications include making it a true A-frame house and renovating the interior), I won't go over that one in detail. First off is the town hall; standing out front you can see the beloved Mayor Maynought. Interior detail. I did steal the plant idea, yes. However, you can also see the town historian/secretary, a bookcase, and a file cabinet. Note also the spiral staircase up to the clock. No, it doesn't actually lead anywhere, but I thought it looked better than nothing. And here is the local fish and chips stand, run by Chip Sandfish. The interior is nothing special (oven, grill, sink), but I am rather proud of the fish on top: Any comments would be appreciated--constructive criticism included (I am always looking to improve). Thanks for looking!
  11. Not as many as I had hoped, actually. But, it was still fun.
  12. You mean, like, a pirate ship? I forgot to mention earlier: I think a new map would be good, too. Or at least the map we got with the Pirates I line.
  13. I would really like to see some smaller add-ons in the style of the Soldiers' Fort; that way, they could be connected, or just used separately. Things like a tavern would be great, as well as maybe some house-type buildings. More pirate torsos would also be good, or even the inclusion of the torso from the Pirate Building Set in some regular sets, or the current green-striped shirt in different colors. A smaller $50-ish ship would also be wonderful--preferably either Imperial or merchant. And, while making civilians may not exactly be practical, LEGO could do what they did in some of the Pirates I harbor sets, and give us a few minifigs that aren't necessarily pirates, but may just be regular sailors.
  14. Well, I'm back! The wedding was wonderful, and I was really pleased with how the figures looked on the cake. Captain Blue Hair, I'm afraid everyone ate all the cake before we could save a piece for you. Here is a picture of the cake, including the updated arm (her right arm is also bent, and it's holding a bouquet)
  15. This wasn't one of the more exciting games for me, but it still looks pretty good. I'm hoping some of the other games will be a little more challenging (although it looks like, with the green tile on the die, LEGO gives you an option to make it more challenging). I also hope that the US will get at least a limited release, like the UK with SPIII. When you say that you move the pieces a certain number of spaces, is one space just one stud?
  16. I just picked this set up the other day (I was looking for Ackar or Mata Nui, or possibly even Stronius, but my TRU only had Vastus, Gelu, and Kiina). I actually like it quite a bit. Even with the scythe/spear left as it is, Vastus can achieve some pretty cool poses. His helmet is a thing of beauty. The way the snake's fangs form the opening for his mouth, the overall shape of it . . . wonderful. And, when the helmet is on, he looks like he's frowning or grimacing.
  17. I think it's blood streaming from the spot where the troll's leg once was.
  18. Oh, I wasn't referring just to you--I simply found it interesting that nobody seemed to think that the new building was good enough or bad enough to merit a comment. When I posted pictures of my city in the Trains and Town forum, I got a good number of people telling me what wasn't so great about my work, which allowed me to make some vast improvements. It certainly could be a power station. This one I built with form in mind, not function (unlike the first one).
  19. This is one of the more beautiful buildings I have ever seen. The architecture is astoundingly intricate, but it is somehow subtle enough so that it adds to the whole, rather than drawing attention to the individual bits. There is so much to enjoy, and it can easily be done by looking at the details or just taking the whole thing in. I love the use of the few dark red bricks--it looks great, and it makes it clear that this is a brick building, not a red-painted one (something I've found troubling in all my attempts to create brick buildings). I might have to borrow that color scheme idea. I have recently been fiddling around with a CC-scale post office in red and grey (or red and tan), but I think I've been using too much red for it to look convincing. And that's just my initial impression of the exterior! That interior is equally breathtaking! The giant window-arch (not sure what to call it) is perfect. The little details are all splendid, and, like the outside, they all work together to create a wonderful feel. The interior is much less subtle than the exterior, but that is perfectly fitting, as there is much more hustle and bustle inside a train station than outside. Thank you for sharing this beautiful work with us! You have inspired me as a builder.
  20. Well, that time has come. Brickenridge is no more. Since I'm getting married soon and moving into a new apartment, I had to take apart all my LEGO stuff so that it would be more easily transportable. I will build a new town in my new home (though the layout won't be as spacious, so I'll have to work on making the buildings more detailed. Maybe I'll try something in the modular CC-scale!), but that will have to have a new name, since it will be a completely new town. I'll start a topic for that one when I think it's good enough In the meantime, thanks to everyone who commented! Your tips and constructive criticism really helped me to improve my LEGO building techniques; just look at the comparison between the original incarnation of Brickenridge and the last!
  21. Sorry, Hinckley--didn't mean to be impatient/pushy.
  22. May I request that my Brickenridge town layout (Seen Here) and my fountain MOC (Seen Here) be included?
  23. It's a shame that the red Johnny Thunder hats are so expensive; that would be excellent pimp décor.
  24. I'll be sure to take some pictures. Captain Green Hair, I'll see what I can do--I'm not sure my post office would approve
  25. Well, it's currently only available in French, but spacepolice.lego.com is finally up. Here It has product descriptions for Squidman's Pitstop and Max Security Transport, as well
