  1. Well, this forum has seemed rather dead lately, so I thought I'd post a few MOCs. I was fond of the way that the Space Police stop-motion video portrayed a settlement, so I wanted to start something similar. It's not much yet, but I do think it'll expand. I give you Lunar Sector 5. You can see many different species, and in the background there is a billboard advertising the newest android laborer from Inferno Robotics & Cybernetics, Inc. Observe Squidman's disregard for property as an Explorien worker looks on in horror And he's not the only one to have left a tag: The LEGO shop description of Kranxx called him the leader of a space biker gang. But, with the possible exception of Slizer, we haven't seen any other criminal who rides something resembling a bike. I give you therefore Sparxx, a member of Kranxx's gang (and a human!), and his hoverbike: Finally, a recolor of an old set. I wanted to re-create the Space Patroller, but I don't have any of the cockpit pieces in trans-dark blue--only trans-neon orange and trans-neon green. I wanted to make the recolor fitting for a minifigure I had (thus ruling out Blacktron II or M-Tron), so I decided to make it a Unitron vessel. Granted, Unitron had trans-dark blue canopies, but I think the trans-neon green works well. Plus, that's not the only thing I've changed about my Unitron forces (or, rather, the Unitron Banking Company).
  2. My initial disappointment that this wasn't the next stop-motion film was put to rest as soon as I saw this MOC. Brilliant work!
  3. Cute. I like how the sleek shape suggests a rabbit's head without going over-the-top and trying to look just like one; it reminds me of how Firefly-class ships suggest fireflies.
  4. Those sabrefighters look like they could attach to the Diplomat. I like the Teemto-inspired cockpits. The Diplomat itself is impressive--captures the Spyrius look and feel perfectly. I've always liked Spyrius, so this is good to see.
  5. It doesn't take much to fix it. I replaced the headlights/guns/trans-neon-green 1x1 plates with some small 1x1 fuel canisters (in the style of the "mystery cargo" from the city truck set). That way, it's like a tiny escape scooter that just burns through fuel and joins up with a larger vehicle.
  6. Unfortunately, it only comes with two gold bars--I got the rest in the Agents Gold Hunt set. It does look really cool when fully stacked, though. It's really not a bad set, overall-- it looks cool from most angles, it lends itself to modification, the feature is fun-- it's just not nearly as good as the other Space Police sets. I got this set along with Freeze Ray Frenzy and Squidman Escape because I don't have much money (planning a wedding is expensive). Really a nice assortment of sets. (Plus, I'm going to ask my wife for either Squidman's Pitstop or Hyperspeed Pursuit for Christmas)
  7. Are you serious? I just got this set, and was able to comfortably stack ten gold bars in the safe.
  8. It's been posted more than once already--if you look on the previous page, we even have a discussion about it
  9. It looks like it's an alien vehicle. It's the spiky one next to the shop in this picture. (It looks like a pretty cool set; it'll be nice to have an alien ground vehicle, as well as a smaller police cruiser that has a windscreen)
  10. Ah; looking back, I see my wording was rather unclear. What I meant to say was that the upcoming set, Squidman's Pitstop, contains another ground vehicle. Thus, the Galactic Enforcer is no longer the only known set with a ground vehicle.
  11. I've only seen the small, fuzzy picture--are there others? I'm just relaying what was told to me.
  12. No longer true. The set designer who gave me the "chop-shop-turned-weapon-shop" detail of Squidman's Pitstop told me that the set contains "2 small flying ships and a spikey ground vehicle." So, that third vehicle we see (the one right next to the shop) is indeed a land vehicle.
  13. I think I'm going to ask my wife for Squidman's Pitstop for Christmas (if I haven't bought it by then)
  14. Tim did an excellent job with the head mold (he designed and sculpted it--it was his first sculpt). I particularly like how the Technic axle/rod/pin in the front of the original piece used for Squidman heads has been modified to be the three teeth and a tongue. Brilliant.
  15. I really like this set. Compare it with small space sets of the past, and the level of detail/clever design is incredible. The bikes may not look like much, but they're both pretty awesome, especially for an official set. Kranxx's head mold, in particular, is spectacular--the way that it's based off of a regular minifig head is a nice touch. It manages to look very alien while still keeping some of the "LEGO" feel that the other LEGO alien head molds (Star Wars, Life on Mars, Mars Mission) lost.
  16. I'm not sure how much we know about Squidman's Pitstop, but a LEGO designer said that it's a chop shop kind of scenario but it turns into a weapons shop. Too bad we don't have any bigger pictures, but still, the info is cool. Maybe we'll get some spare spaceship parts. In any case, looks like P. Squiddy is in deeper than the Space Police think (they have him down for theft, burglary, and vandalism, but not for weapons dealing!)
  17. Just picked up this set and Freeze Ray Frenzy today. The speeder really does look much better with stickers on. I do wonder, however, why the officer has no airtanks.
  18. Not quite unlike everyone else; if you look up a few posts, you'll see that I said I like the vehicle
  19. Well, the TRU here in Colorado Springs doesn't have them in yet (not as of yesterday, at least); I hope you have better luck in Denver.
  20. That video is wonderful! It's extremely funny, but the humor is hard to pin down; I think it's all the little touches that make it so good. Everything about it captures that elusive LEGO spirit: the realization that something can be lighthearted and whimsical while simultaneously being awesome.
  21. And how! The video is great
  22. This is a spectacular little set! The vehicle is cool, and the minifigures are amazing!
  23. I think it would be cool, but also harder to revamp than the police station and fire department, at least as far as the interior goes. I mean, look at the size of the police station, then look at how small the rooms are. They have some really cool features (like the lovely coffee machine and water dispenser), but I can't imagine trying to fit a hospital scene into something that size. Honestly, I'm fine with no new hospital; a new hospital line would mean fewer civilian sets.
  24. I like it. It's not wonderful (they certainly could have done a lot more with the interior, considering that it's six-wide), but it looks like a fun set. And those minifigs . . . that girl's torso is splendid! I think I may have to pick this up when it comes out.
  25. Hello, everyone. Recently, I've been trying to make some 1930's-esque cars, and I would like to try the five-stud wide scale. However, I seem to be running up against a lot of walls; are there any basic tips or hints for building in this scale? Thanks!
