[REVIEW] 8043 - Excavator
shimon replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
just got mine today and built it.. the turntable works great for me but the right track is very weak and both actuators aren't doing a good job either i thought of some solutions: as mentioned before there needs to be a counter weight to help get the arm up and i just thought of a possibility to put the battery box behind the arm (i tried lifting the model up to 90 degrees and the function works perfectly raises\lowers and also in the place of the battery box we may come up with sariel's idea for tracked vehicles : 1 motor make it run\other - steer so maybe we think somehow to put an XL motor in the place of the battery box and try modify the whole thing to that mechanism it will be hard but that way it will run perfectly + require less gears + be synchronized what do you think? -

cant you just remove the axle that connect the two LA's and just manually spin the top to adjust them and when you build the bucket assembly put the axle? -
Linear Actuators
shimon replied to JunkstyleGio's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
it happened to me once when the actuator was already extended but the motor kept running and then the actuator got stuck with no linear movement only rotation that is only if it is extended, just push with your fingers very hard and try to rotate, it will work again (it might lose the rack) but if its stuck in the middle .. that's a wierd problem -
i dont know how to classify this but i build mixed - chassis can be made out of beams or bricks and the shape of the model must be perfect; lot of SNOT (no popping studs not too naked ( some TLG technic models ) any name to that ? this sort of building gives a lot of head ache though because i try very hard to make the shape as much similar to the real model even if it means rebuilding everything. what do you think of this kind of building ?

Dluders: thanks for the links what i ment is im not sure what kind of a truck to build so that small pneumatic cylinders will fit in yoraish: thanks im from Haifa and you? -
hello everyone Ive been working lately on a new project; it is similar scale to Gtahelper's Scania truck - http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=378977 but i haven't took any ideas .. yet here is a screen shot of the overall model EDIT: new photos please comment in that scale I've added LOT LOT of SNOT it was very hard to make it PF drive remotely, transmission switch to activate pneumatic pump, air tank and a pneumatic device : small cylinders any ideas making this better? please tell me what you think

Ive never sold any MOCs but 80% of the parts i have are from bricklink so it cost very little and the profit here will be big Ive seen a lot of people doing creations with parts worth 100-200$ and sell it for 500$+ and even 800 take a 100$(if there are taxes and stuff): good profit & head ache & time about the dump truck : it is very rude just to sell it and even not mention the designer's name technically everyone can do it the parts will cost 100-150 bucks (from best stores in bricklink ) though its much of a head ache so the minimum is at least sharing instructions or selling them on Ebay like CrowKillers did - 25 bucks, many people bought this Still all this is for those who cant afford themselves new lego.. i guess

ive decided to give it a shot =) the ldd model doesn't look so good because the original file was deleted and i had to build it from pics for the contest name: Lab class: LDD + bricks bricks: real model approx 2000 pcs
-
First of all thanks everyone now you're right i ran out if the black bars so i had to come up with something.. i will make a vid of the doors soon to 'Prateek' are you sure im not allowed to post it ? because if i had posted it in the contest there would be no comments and i really worked hard on it.. (and i hope to get the emerald night) on the other hand.

thanks guys! it was supposed to be bigger i cut it for a contest i forgot to mention all the floors are removable and the door mechanism is placed under the gear if anybody want i can take clear pics of it

Hello guys as i discovered bricklink i got myself some good looking shiny parts so i decided to build a structure using these parts and adding some interesting features *- a very good working door technique slides both door with absolutely no friction! *- pf lights Ive made it for the LDD contest too but i need to recreate the file it was supposed to continue from the right side but the contest allows 2500 bricks so i had to cut it off anyway tell me what you think of it as a first attempt: i got more pictures but they are too big as i heard only 800 x 600 allowed cheers.

Hello! i have recently noticed that there are many pneumatic switches that are leaking air 40% of my switches have the same problem i dont use to much air in them i use them very carefully but for example i put the switch on the center and press the pump and then i hear the air leaking from the top of the switch and theres no way to fix it about 5 switches i own have the same problem i cant send that much letters to TLG about replacements is there something i can do with them ? some of them i get broken and some are breaking after a while anyone has the same problem?

LDD WIP (Work In Progress)
shimon replied to NecroViolator's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
wow this explains alot... if you want i can send the lxf file but i think its way too complicated build i want to rebuild it with different chassis and everything different because there are many wrong connections according to the PDF alot of snots are disabled and one of the most important is : stud in a pin hole however the model has symmetrical studs and isymmetrical : 19 or 17 and its hard tocombine them in such scale i want to ask you something Bojan released a mod to ldd that adds new pieces if you have the mod or atleast know how to add pieces it would be great because LDD universe has very little assortment of technic parts -
LDD WIP (Work In Progress)
shimon replied to NecroViolator's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
thanks for the comments @ superkalle ive built the model from big parts: doors, hood, chassis.. and it was hard to combine them 1st problem: studs arent getting into pin holes 2nd various snot issues( 0.1 inch brick is up and the whole thing cant be placed ) 3 brick connections: for example left door side fits well however right door side doesnt fit because the car base has tiles and the door must get on them so 1 side did well and other did not 4 rotation bricks its hard to rotate it to the right place even if there is free space 5 hard to fit big parts ( have to hide the top and deal with the connection or move the piece around the place it should be for couple mins 6 VERY IMPORTANT axle holed bricks move unsymmetricaly which prevents putting right brick inside the axle
