How about just going to LEGO.com customer service replacements enter the powerpuller and write that these parts were missing and TLG will send them to you (if they have them).. for them it costs like any other axle connector - 0.005$ instead of paying these crazy prices.. But as you all know the Slope 75 2 x 2 x 3 Double Convex in black is also pretty rare 2$ ea And a person i know wrote to TLG that he had them missing in an old set but they sent him ones in Light bley because they didnt have black.. but still i think its worth trying..

WIP Liebherr LTM 1100
shimon replied to shimon's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@ Milan: Thanks, i would like to see your Liebherr crane too! Secondly about the tires:i am not very experienced nor rich in parts(tires)in these kinds of building. so for now instead going a hard work im just trying to make a light, easy and solid crane. About the outirggers : i wanted to make a new outstanding style of outriggers but, it was just hard to fit it without damaging the easy design. I wanted to make outriggers that in 1 function(button press) extend and after that deploy using clutches and differentials. the whole thing is pretty heavy; mostly because of the power functions so i just hope the wheels would stand the weight and the force given. Now all i need is time and money for some yellow bricks =) Thanks again for all the comments. -
WIP Liebherr LTM 1100

Thanks. About the turntable, of course i will make it stronger by adding wheels on the sides but that will be on the crane section. About the boom extension: that is the thing that inspired me building it, im thinking of making a 3-5 sections boom . but it is very difficult to be operated in such scale without bending when lifting weights (ill try to come up with something). Ill make a video of it as soon as i get some free time. -
Hello all! I have started a project about a month ago; it is a mobile crane something like Liebherr LTM 1100 I dont do exact shapes and stickers i just want to make a good looking and functional crane. This mobile crane is made with a PF compatibility module - it can be operated manually or PF Note: all the PF parts are removable and the model can be easily operated. In my first time i build a large model with Technic parts and somehow the chassis are very light and solid and also may remind some of TLG build (i think) I almost finished the mobile (i dont have much time for LEGO), hope everything will work ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Functions: all the functions work great, driving, steering, outriggers... The final model will include: 4 PF lights 2 battery boxes 4 IR recievers 6 M motors 2 XL motors Or none of these. Please tell me what you think

WOW this is simply awesome!! I always enjoy seeing things like that. From your last video Ive seen that you have a bit trouble to release the picked up brick (you have to rely on the studs to hold) i though maybe you can put a bar (probably 4L ) and make it come out of the bottom of the 1 x 1 round brick and the bar will detach the plate\brick from the round brick and separate easily, but i assume that will require changing the whole mechanism but, it would have been better that way but then the bar must move freely inside the hole of the brick (just an idea). I think with some hard thinking we might find a way to attach any kind of bricks Anyways great progress!!! cant wait to see it actually build something

IR Receiver/Transmitter
shimon replied to dolittle's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think you should buy both , but in first priority- the normal remote because it can reverse both actions in just 1 click so that the motor can instantly spin in either ways. However if you dont have a mechanism that needs a fast direction change, go for the speed one. -
You are absolutely right. The same situation could have happen to me with Arvo's VW Beetle i made in LDD (file is in LDD forum if anyone want it), and i was willing to build\sell it But then, the first thing that came to my mind even before gathering the pictures of the massive model was that i really felt OK even to credit Arvo brothers with some profit, though e-mailing was a must do for me. It really takes an effort to redesign a model from the outside and definitely from the inside, and by that i think the designer should be proud that his work had achieved such level that people are actually copying the design. Its rather weird how a simple mail could make such trouble and misunderstanding.

Ok, here is the file: It does not have interior; anyone can add his style (there are many) Original model design by: Arvo. LDD model design from scratch by: Shimon. Happy building!! I may recreate any other model by demand. Edit: wont let me attach the file, any help? -

Thanks! yeah me too but just for some reason they don't ( or maybe they plan it for the future) Or they just don't do it for several reasons: its a hard and complex building ( LEGAL ALTHOUGH ) and its not really solid (breakable) Thanks. Well, it was pretty difficult: i started from the hood slopes then i saw that they are connected via a bracket and so on many connections. by just enlarging the pictures. and even with no good resolution i was able to find specific exterior pieces and then think of a solid snot option. the main rule was - 5 studs high=2 studs long The chassis: i made it myself with a steering options i just built it outer first and inner after. About the color: i already found 2 possibilities: white and red (black wont look good) and i have most of the white parts in the shopping cart in one BL store and others need separately. total cost : approx 120$ What do you think would people buy such a thing and for how much? Because ive seen many cheap creations being sold for 800$+ Regards. Shimon -
Few days ago an idea came to my mind - building something great and maybe sell it. from all the models i tried to make the hardest so i choose a model from one of the best Lego designers - Arvo brothers. i had no pictures of the interior only the ones at brickshelf.. and from those bricks outside i made the whole model with my own designed chassis and steering. before i was going to email them about the permission ive checked the prices for some pieces... Unfortunately the big arches don't exist in Yellow but some shops do sell them - 5.99$ each!! and there are 14 of them so i cant afford it to myself building it so i though i would just share the pictures here and maybe there's another place i can get those bricks.? or Perhaps make the whole model in another color? Enjoy my 3 days work: (i haven't made the interior thought to make them special)

MOC: Volkswagen Passat

Very nice!! looks very real And just in 1 word: it couldn't have been better! Do the wheels steer completely? -
But you cant do it in the differential i just tried this and the pin in the center of the differential wont let the axle go through.. it could have been nice though.. other than the worm gear it self will be activated i cant see any other ideas for gears between it. good idea though .. to bad it matters how long the axle is, and the 32L ones are too much flexible.
-
Just make an "inner axle idea" by taking connect it to an axle and put long axles in 2 holes and then put another 2 wheels and they will move free and spin. if you dont understand i can explain in more details. @ Zblj : Mahjqa meant that if you put the red part inside the differential it will move freely on the axle and will rotate the differential if the axle is activated EDIT : havent seen the previous comment.

shimon replied to tomacwhite's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
TLG will just send replacement actuators... but what about ther other problems? of course im glad they added me too and that the srvice is great i asked them for an XL motor to modify it otherwise the problems are the same.. -
(MOC) Liebherr LTM 1050
shimon replied to Milan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm sorry my English isn't so good, what i meant is that if you replace the pneumatic with a worm gear outrigger and make it extend + deploy with the Differential idea as you shown, it wont really work.. -

shimon replied to Milan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
In pneumatics - yes , you have to rely on the friction that the cylinder causes lifting the crane but what if both functions need rotation ( as in 8258) and operated from the differential? -

It looks very promising i have to say! I am also building a Liebherr LTM 1100 but an easy version; 8421 alike but with a decent look and TLG style build and with PF compatibility. Good luck! I can swear i thought of the same idea couple days ago but mine wasn't pneumatics it was 8258 kind and the differential idea wont work because once the outrigger is lifted a little the diff can reverse to other function, unlike pneumatics. it could be nice doing two functions with one motor
