  1. As the party walks towards the group, curious as to who they were. There was a probably a saying about approaching obvious crooks and what happens when you do, but the party obviously hadn't heard any. The roguish group turns as the party speaks, drawing their weapons, a few of them sporting curdled smiles, others eyeing the party over beneath their shades. Things weren't looking good for the party. "Ha! Me, gorgeous! Don't flatter me, mage. You've got a lot to learn about picking women, young man. However, I'm free for later young man... if you are." She manages to make lowering her glasses seductive, as she walks towards Heckz, placing a hand around his leg. "What do you say kid? You wanna slip away and do something? So long as you got the coin..." "Illicit? When would we not be doing illicit stuff! We're drug dealers, compadre!" "Ci! Perhaps you're interested, senor?" The hooded figure points a dagger to the chest of yeti barbarian, managing to intimidate him, despite the size difference. "Who am I? You haven't been around here long, have you, yeti? I am the greatest pickpocket this city's ever seen, Donny Dozenhands, and this has now turned into a mugging! Money, valuables, weapons, drop them! Now!" The woman, most likely Paige, looks over at the hooded man. Losing her attention to Heckz for a brief second she shakes her head as "Donny" begins his spiel.
  2. She's not showing up for a while, but I'll see what I can do.
  3. I've got an NPC coming up later that I think would love to be around Heckz. She also says "darling" a lot. She also may or may not be a Rarity clone. She is definitely however not a marshmallow pony.
  4. I'm surprised people remember her. As well, I'm surprised no one decided to use her as an enemy NPC. Alternate Universe PCs as enemies would be really cool. And thank you for fixing it, Endgame. Blah vs. Karie- Special: Karie reveals herself as Syndicate Peon (Rapier) Puts blue hood on. "I'm totally not Karie using a boyish voice to disguise myself- I mean herself! Arthur, use your compass!"
  5. "Wait, this seems familiar..." Syndicate Peon (Rapier), Level 29 Humanoid HP: 300/300 SP: 3 Immune to Jinxing and Frailty! Specials: Mass Mugging: Karie mugs every hero. All heroes lose 10 gold (cannot be retrieved) and take 11 damage, disregarding SP. Mass Hallucination: Karie hexes the attacking hero for three rounds. All other heroes have a 1/6 chance to be hexed. Quick Reflexes: Karie becomes Dodgy for the next 3 rounds, having a 1/2 chance of evading physical attacks. Specials decided by die roll. Passive Specials: Lust: Karie seeks to impress her boyfriend, defying the SP of those who have a higher level then him. Strong Will: Darkness does not deal double damage to this Syndicate peon. ...Wait, I basically just copied and pasted Karie's actually enemy stats and fixed them to her current build.
  6. As the party moves through the bustling streets, often eyeing the various goods, they find themselves in a dirty, unkept, uninviting alley. Looking about, neither Paolo or Falner can be seen. The group must have gotten lost in one of the crowds! The sounds of water dripping to the cold ground, as well as a cool breeze accompany the party as they stand in the dark, dank alley. The buildings look derelict and ready to come down on the party. Wandering about, they can hear a conversation going on a few feet ahead. Looking about, the party soon finds the source. "So, you got the goods?" "Of course, amigo! Kong, show him the stuff." "Come on, let's hurry this up! We don't have all day, Alex-" "My name isn't Alex! How many times do I have to tell you that, Paige!" What will the party do?
  7. Well, the Syndicate happened, go read that, since I know you'll want to find out what happened to the Stealer. Apparently it's one of the better quests to read, so go read it up. Once you've finished reading it, you should also read the side quests. Good to have you back, Brickington!
  8. I bet those first few are from the original source, while the others derive from the icon. At least, that's my guess. "Karie, there's something you should know." "What is it, Masson? Whatever it is, my opinion of you won't change." *Fwoosh!* "Acting." "...what?" KARIE-CEPTION!!!
  9. That is now becoming an Official Heroica Meme. Watch, I'll do it with some other famous NPC's. "Thought I was the Apprentice, lab rats?" *fwoosh!* "Acting." --- *hollow, echoey voice* "Thought I was the Masked Man?" *Fwoosh! Clank!* "Acting." --- "Thought I was Violetta, Benji?" *Zip! Fwoosh!* "I'm her sister. Also, acting." Yeah, I think I must have used the image from my icon once and continued to do so, meaning once Paolo got replaced with Karie, Karie replaced him both as my icon and all the images of Paolo from 83.
  10. Karie was Lt. Paolo the whole time it seems.

    1. Endgame

      Endgame

Karie is a master of disguise.

I now want a Master of Disguise Expert class. And I also want that Gender Swap mask. Just saying, Flare.

  11. Karie's apparently now replaced Paolo. I'll fix that shortly. Must be because I changed my icon. I don't know, I kind of like the idea of Karie bossing the party of 83 around.
  12. Karie nudges Dyric in the ribs, cringing. "Keep up with the story I've set. Idiot." This had to be the worst assassin she'd ever met.
  13. "Isn't it obvious? We're looking for some treasure rumoured to be buried out here. Surely you've heard of Violetta's hidden cache?" Karie shudders at the big hairy things comment about straight out killing them. Hershey seemed to have slinked off somewhere. Seems as if the cat was more intelligent than she was.
  14. I'm not the only one who read this in Snape's voice, right?
  15. "The evidence has all been recorded, correct? Good. Now then, let's make our way to the barracks, shall we?" "Indeed. Seeing as how some of you may never have been to the headquarters, I'll lead the way. Come heroes, I think we're close to cracking this case." Paolo leads the party out of the gatehouse and into the bustling streets of Eubric, the Ever-Changing City. It was midday as the party made their through various streets filled with stalls, people and carts. It seemed they had some time until they reached the headquarters, so now would be an interesting time to catch up with each other.
  16. "It's capable of performing the same task wrapped around my waist, thank you very much. For an Assassin of the Light, you sure like to indulge on naughty things, Mr. Rone." Some gentleman he was turning out to be.
  17. I think this is really cool! I think the time limit makes it much more of a test of a players ability than the fields, which has become a little disheartening, seeing as how there are no more Threshold monsters. That and it ensures that the party will leave, instead of disappear for five months. That's one of the reasons I don't like the fields, it just goes on. Here, it's more time trial oriented, something I might actually enjoy. I'd get in contact with other QM's and plan the boss battles with them, to ensure their visions kept. I'd also recommend getting in touch with someone and build the sets with actual bricks, maybe even bring an NPC back as the quest giver. I'd love to help, Endgame if you need photos.
  18. "Heh, so concealable's what you want? Alright, fair enough, I got you covered." Karie clutched her hand into a fist, her tattoo begin to show, removing her white makeup. She readied herself for whatever was to come their way. "Whenever you're ready."
  19. "I don't think talking to them is possible. They've been let off early today. Quite a few of the staff felt uneasy after last nights incident, so her ladyship allowed them to leave early today. However, your theory is an interesting one, one that does make some sense. However, that door still proves a problem. How did she manage to leave a room locked from the inside?" Kneeling on the ground and rubbing her fingers along the cold stone floor, Purpearl finds no evidence of a secret passage. Placing the jar to the flame, Avalanche attempts not to catch on fire as he examines the liquid to see it's reaction. The liquid violently heats up and bubbles, catching Avalanche by surprise and slightly burning him. He nearly drops the bottle onto the floor. "Alchemist's Fire, no doubt. Instantly ignites anything it touches, and violently reacts to heat. A group of Alchemist's invented it, and so that's how it got it's name." Small Glass Container- A glass container with enough volume to drench someone with a fluid. There's small traces of Alchemist's Fire, a flammable substance, inside. -The Party- Avalanche (Dragonfire) 29 years old male yeti Barbarian Level 1 Power: 4 (1+3) Health: 8/8 Gold: 3 Equipment: Earthshaker (WP:3) Inventory: Potion, Bottle of Mead, Smoke Bomb, Venom Purpearl Berthadhiell (Purpearljellyblob) *Fast Asleep* 180 Years Old Female Elven Mage Level 1 Power: 4 (1+3) Health: 5/5 (5) Ether: 5/5 (5) Gold: 5 Equipment: Crimson Arcanon (Wand WP:3) Inventory: Ruby (Fire), Potion, Bedroll Heckz Brutenhal,The Ghostbuster (Eric-Su) 32 year old male Mage. Stolen from the crime scene, no longer considered evidence unless returned) Artefacts: Gemstones: Topaz Scrolls: Scroll of Sealing Consumables: Potion, Grand Tonic, Smoke Bomb, Water Bomb Summon: Sera, Angel of Wrath (Lightning elemental) As the party speculates on the new lead, a town watch guard stumbles into the room, obviously exhausted. He meanders over to Paolo and begins to speak to him in a hushed voice. Paolo dismisses him and looks at the party and Falner. "The guard just ran from the Way's End District. Apparently the Syndicate found Abigail hiding in the Way's End Cemetery. I just hope Father McCreary didn't get his robes in a rut: his fuse is known for being rather short if you get on his wrong side. That and he's been dealing with a lot lately within the grounds. The last thing he needs is a potential killer wandering about killing people. From what I hear the cemetery's full enough as is." Paolo straightens his uniform, then suddenly pivots on his heels and leans out the door, megaphone in hand. "HEAD STRAIGHT TO HQ!! INFORM SEREVAN OF THE SUSPECTS CAPTURE, AND TO SET UP AN INTERROGATION ROOM FOR US!!" He leans back in, keeping the megaphone up. "LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU'RE READY TO LEAVE. WE'RE IN NO RUSH!" Falner covers his hears to the best of his abilities.
  20. Karie put Hershey down to go investigate, put the cat simply sat down and looked up at Karie agitated. She whispers to the rest of the party. "Well, what would you lot like to do? We could go in, swords drawn and cause a scene, or we could actually find out why Bors is intending rob caravans and most likely has the bombs! He's obviously got them! How else would he stop caravans dead besides blowing stuff up?"
  21. Karie, irritated with Dyric, slams ten gold on the counter. "Mreoow. <Such a shame you can't understand me...>" "This Everyman fellow talking with Shawe, and he's obviously got a history with you two. Can we honestly trust Shawe?"
  22. Not really. Ulric is very left winged, it seems. He's taxing the organizations that have money to benefit the poor. As it stands, it seems Eubric doesn't even have taxes. I think Ulric knows what his vision is, he's just terrible at implementing it.
  23. I thought Picard was the next generation!
  24. Avalanche looks about the back room in a manner a home inspector would a house. Looking about the floor boards, Avalanche finds a small bottle. Swishing the last drops of the content inside, Avalanche notices a red, gooey substance. Avalanche finds nothing but cobwebs on the walls. Small Glass Container- A glass container with enough volume to drench someone with a fluid. There's small traces of a red, gooey substance. Looking into the bucket, Heckz notices a small puddle of water in it. Bucket- A wooden bucket found with a small amount of water in it. Found in the storeroom. Falner looks up from Sassina's corpse to Purpearl as she rubs her sleepy eyes. "The basket? Most likely from the Villa's kitchen. Abigail brought the food down in it most likely." Falner gets up and motions for Purpearl to show him her collection of pearls. He holds them up to the light and examines them. "Hmm. I'd just say that the swirly, murky liquid effect is more or less a property the pearl has, there's no liquid actually in here. Consider this, Purpearl, why would one drill holes into pearls? Sometimes the obvious gets overlooked in favour of the bizarre. Like that time on the highway of..." Falner goes into another one of his rambles.
  25. Karie trods down the stairs, cranky and bitter. She had rims under her eyes which could be faintly seen through the makeup. Hershey followed her down like a duckling following it's mother. "Yeah, something is going on here, and it's between you two and me." Karie pointed at Thothwick and Dyric, looking them over with her glacial blue eyes. "Just who the hell is this Everyman chap? You've obviously got some beef between him, both of you, so why? The two of you have been hiding something from me, and if I'm not in the loop, what good am I here? It has something to do with that explosives expert doesn't it?" It seemed as if Mt. Karie was about to erupt. "Mreoow. <Suggestion to the two gentleman: her aim is better than yours, if you catch my drift.>" Hershey's tone seemed to have a hint of dry sarcasm sprinkled into it, however that was possible.
