  2. Town Watch members I can remember: Captain Patricia, Lieutenant Serevan, Lieutenant Lilith, Lieutenant Paolo, Private Nevron, I know there's more, but I can't remember them. As well, loving the party dynamic already, and we haven't finished a page! Don't worry CMP! I'll try my best to carry on your legacy!
  3. Karie shrugs, showing off her cocky grin. "Well, you get what you pay for, Lord Henry. I can assure you we will return your stolen explosives." She silently hoped that, one, that wouldn't come back to bite her, and two, the quest wouldn't end in a bang. "I suppose the next logical question would be do you have any leads? As well, how long ago was this shipment stolen?"
  4. "Well, thank you, Thothwick." Hershey continues to eyeball Thothwick, looking at him with her big, cuddly eyes.
  5. Assassin of the Light? Best show this guy up one. "I don't believe we have. Karie Alderflask, World's Greatest Pickpocket, among other things." Karie returns the gesture and shakes hands with the assassin. Karie could tell the ape man was eyeing her. Her back tingled with unease. She didn't like this guy. At least not as of yet. "Good morning, sir. I don't believe we've met either. I'm Karie, and this is-" "Mreow! <Hershey, but everyone calls me adorable!>" "Hershey, my cat. Well, actually, she's my sister's cat, but it seems I'm now looking after the adorable little thing." "Purr...<See what I mean.>"
  6. OOC: Did some shopping, and changed my stats. Karie arrives and checks herself over, as ready as she'd ever be, Hershey precariously perched over her shoulder, her hind legs slouched over Karie's back. Crooked dealings among shipping companies, what could possibly go wrong? "Good morning, sir. Pleasure to make your acquaintance. Name's Karie, Karie Alderflask." "Mreoow! <The name's Hershey!>" At the sound of the town of Brendenton being brought, Karie thought it wise not to bring up anything involving, despite knowing the devilish perpetrator and knave who stole the cloth was enjoying a stay in Davy Jones's locker. All you can eat sea food, so I hear. "Yeah, I got a question, two actually. One, this Bors fellow, what's his past accomplishments? Is he a nobody, highwayman, mass serial killer, a bit of a profile would be nice. Secondly, I'm curious as to why the Shadeaux would want with this shipment? I can assume it was valuable, but what else makes it special?" She felt as if the metasimian was eyeballing her for some reason. What was his problem?
  7. Karie strolls into the market, Hershey slung over her shoulder. She walks up to Portia's and unrolls a long list. "Hey, how's your little business going!" Portia doesn't respond, but simply folds her arms. "Okay then...a grand tonic (30 gold), a nostrum (35 gold), two remedies (20 gold), and throw in a smelling salts for good measure (25 gold)." "That'll be a hundred and ten gold please." (30+20+35+25=110 gold) Karie fishes out the money and tosses it to the shopkeep, leaving her with 192 gold. (302-110=192 gold) Karie then walks over to the smithy's blowing the billowing smoke away from her as she enters the stall, the smithy hard at work inlaying a jewel into a sword. "You do upgrades?" The smithy looks up to see the witch, putting his work down and walking towards Karie. "Show me what you want worked on." He says, scratching his beard. Karie unsheathes Sexy, laying it on the counter. The smithy looks it over. "It'll cost you eighty gold." "Done!" Karie shouts, shaking the smithy's hand. (192-80=102 gold. Sexy upgraded to WP: +8) Content with her purchases, Karie heads off to adventures unknown.
  8. Oh, I'm not complaining! Best of luck to everyone on 81! Knowing Endgame's tendencies, you're going to need it.
  9. "Just pointless easter- where's the hooligan who wrote this down!"

  11. Karie leaves the hall feeling somewhat exhausted, Hershey trailing at her heels. Emotions had run rampant, but at least now she'd gotten some things off her chest. She pulls out her bag of coins, hoping she'd have some funds to grab some things.
  12. "Purrr....<Well, in that case...>" Hershey goes back to rubbing against Sorrow's hands. Karie begins to finish her meal, snatching her napkin up and wiping her face. "Well, I hate to say this, but I really ought to get going. I still need to head to the market, and I got some things that need to be finished up." She picks Hershey up, who seems to be less than thrilled about being picked up. "Thanks for the talk. I appreciate it."
  13. "Well, when you put it like that..." Hershey simply looks up at Sorrow, twitching her ears. "Mreoow-eooowow! <Hey, if I knew any tricks, the only one would be a disappearing act, with all your gold in tow! It's not like I'm always a nice kitty!>"
  14. "No no, it's not that. It's just that Hershey seems more like a target than anything. I don't know. It would be nice to have company in case in case I get stuck with another Boomingham." Karie shudders at the thought. Hypocritical, egotistical- what was he the lord of anyways? The lord of being a complete jerk?
  15. "I might. I'm afraid of taking her with me, actually. She might get a spell to the face or something." "Mreoow!" Karie scratches behind the cat's ears, Hershey looking up with a glint of discontent on her furry face.

She also returns with a pitcher of water and two glasses. "Here. I thought you might have been thirsty, so... I got you a glass." She places everything down and then takes her seat, immediately stuffing her face with food. Hershey looks up at her, obviously waiting for something to drop onto the floor.
  17. Yeah it was really well done! Karie's still got a few things left to tie up, but her reason for leaving Charis is out, as well as the fate of the club she worked at, which I'd consider two of the larger things that we're hinted at until now.
  18. Karie sniffles slightly, taking a deep breath before looking back at Sorrow. "No, I'm alright now. It's out there. "I guess I could say the same for you Sorrow. I appreciate you taking some time to listen to me. It's one of those things that's been eating away at me." Karie sat up, stretching. "I'm getting something to eat. You want anything?"
  19. "I don't know if you've heard this, but when I hit the street after flunking University, I got addicted to Pixie Dust. Often I'd pickpocket someone just to scrounge up some change for one hit. Cliff... he cleaned me up. He got me off the streets, and supported me. Eventually, his kindness turned into something else. He confessed his love to me, and confessed mine back. One night, after I finished up at the club, I was confronted by a drug dealer. He offered me some of that pink crap. The temptation was to much. I bought it off him. For two months I squandered my money on those drugs. Cliff didn't realize until it was too late. I'd got some off the dealer on loan, and said I'd pay him back, but I couldn't. One night, he followed me home. He busted down the door. Cliff tried to call him off. And then he was stabbed. I grabbed a cleaver from the counter and lodged it into the dealers shoulder. That was the first time I killed a man, and I prayed the last. I collected my valuables, and got on the first ship to Eubric a week later. In that time, the Croise burnt down the Lucky Star Cabaret, killing almost everyone inside on suspicions of stirring up anti-Croise sentiment. He reminds me of Cliff, Masson does. Maybe not in his appearance, or his demeanour, but definitely his actions. He helped me out when I needed it, and gave me support. He cares about me, just a Cliff did." Karie pauses, looking down, trying to avoid the tears. "Now you know why I left Charis. Now you know why I'm here."
  20. "I understand how you feel. After Cliff's death, I tried my damnedest not to get back into a relationship with someone, with the fear I'd wind up hurting them... or worse. Perhaps the reason you never got into another relationship is because even after everything that happened, you still cared about Sarah. She was that one true love, and the fact that you never went courting other women says something: you're faithful." She sheepishly looks down at her feet. "Well, at least it's better than what I can say about myself..."
  21. "Sorrow, that was almost four hundred years ago! You need to let it go. I suppose I'm somewhat hypocritical for saying this, but you'll never be able to take back what you did that day. You live with those mistakes, and you learn from them. I'm disappointed in what you did, but I forgive you. You've managed to forgive me, why can't I do the same for you?" Karie's look of concern turned into a growing smile. "Wow, do I ever sound like Arthur."
  22. "No, it appears not." Karie was longing for a drink, some food, something to change the subject and get her mind off of Cliff. "You sound... different."
  23. What a twist that would be!
  24. Karie wasn't sure quite what to say. She knew Sorrow was hurt just speaking about it, but she couldn't quite figure out what to say. She spoke, melancholy drooling out of her mouth. "The first guy who ever really evoked any emotion from me, died protecting me from the drug dealer I owed money to. I don't think I'm any worse than you, Sorrow."
  25. The feels man, the feels!!
