  1. That helps. Thanks.
  2. When dealing with a counter striking enemy, what's thrown back at the PC? The level of the enemy, or the amount of damage the PC's attack does?
  3. Karie uses Sexy on the Spearmen from the back row, saying nothing.
  4. OOC: Sorry for the delay! We'll continue now! "Well, it looks like you've done us another service by getting those men off the streets. I'll see about giving you lot some sort of reward for bringing in those crooks. For now though, I'm glad you lot are fine. I'm sorry to rush you, but we really got to get going. At the rate we're going, the Syndicate's probably already there." "I agree. This alley is very... unwelcoming..." The party make their way out of the gloomy with the Town Watch officials and back out onto the streets. It doesn't take long for them to be bustled into the Town Watch Barracks, the red and blue colours adorned on banners as various officials rush about with papers and members of the watch bustle about. The dwarven coroner walks in front of the group and tips his hat. "This is where I leave, my sincerest apologies but I have other things to attend to, including a recent event down at an apparent Guild of Invision event. Best of luck in your endeavours." With those words, he disappears into the hustle and bustle. "Sometimes I wish he'd slow down, you know. Sometimes I wish I'd slow down. Ah well, I'll take you to the interrogation room. I just hope he hasn't arrived yet..." Paolo leads the party through the building and into the lower levels. Passing a few rooms, Paolo leads the party into a sparse, yet well lit room. A few bars bring sunlight in from the streets above. A Town Watch banner sits in the corner, reminding everyone where they were and who was in control here. A table sits near the back, with a worn wooden chair and a stool sitting on opposite sides. A newspaper and a large book sit on top, with a candle next to the two items. "Ah, good. So, it seems the Syndicate members will be here shortly. You have some time to go over the evidence you've gathered, as well as discuss anything with me. If you think you're ready without any of that, let me know." Will the party take some time to review, or move onto the interrogation?
  5. Since Karie is not in the Battle Order, Karie assumes she not needed, and steps aside, crossing her arms. "If you don't want my help, Dyric, fine, I won't."
  6. "Death is death, you hypocrite! You kill someone, they're dead, no matter how many they're are! Just like every other time, someone dies! At least I don't wave my title around like a child, oh hero who's worth something. What are you worth, anyways? A turd? A single coin? And who gave you a title like that," Karie was ready to turn her rapier on Thothwick on a moment's notice, "you two faced, prune? I healed your sorry behind back there, and this is what I get in return?"
  7. "No one has to die, eh Thothwick? A compromise can be made, right Dyric?" Karie wanted nothing to do with the duo, she knew that her ordeal in Brendenton, everything she did in that hell hole of a town was for not now. Being tossed into the sea, being turned into a newt, dealing with Marty and Fleur, all for nothing. Oh cruel mistress of fate, you are a strange being. "I want nothing to do with this Henry. I would appreciate it if you told your lord I wanted the bombs in your hands and not in the Shadeux's."
  8. Don't you have a barricade to look over or something?
  9. "Don't give me that lip, you arrogant knight! I know enough, I have relations to a man who owns a joint shipping company with the Shadeux, so I know well enough what goes on in this town! The Guild is a business, just like any other business. They don't care who gets the package, so long as they get their money. A hero who's actually worth something? So you actually need a title to be a hero? I have enough experience under my belt to have stopped at least one incredibly large, nasty demon and brought peace between two factions in this city, one of which I hold great animosity towards. Where do you even get a title like that? The Town Watch? It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it was, the corrupt hoodlums that they are. And surely you can see that the consequences are the same if the HInckwells get the bombs? It'd be wise to side with your leeway, Dyric. I'm the only one who can set of those bombs as a collective group, so I'd advise you to side with me, otherwise you're on your own with lighting those bombs off if we need to!"
  10. "Oh, will you hush! The news the Shadeux hired the Blood Paw will get out. Everything does eventually! I'm not going to ruin my reputation and turn back on what we set out to do: return the bombs to the Hinckwells. I understand what you're doing Thothwick, but take it from experience: you don't want to get on the bad side of a group of heroes. Dyric, I need your help. Convince him that the Shadeux aren't worth his time!"
  11. "Except for Henry on his horse, his captain, and the two Hinckwell soldiers. No matter how you look at it, someone has to die! The world isn't made of lollipops and sugary sweets, Thothwick, as much as you like to think that. I found that out when the rug was pulled out from under me on my first quest. As much as I want it to be true, not everyone here is going to live."
  12. "And I can just as easily point to the Blood Paw's apparent involvement in all this and the Shadeux would have to keep quiet. We were hired by the Hinckwell's, and the bombs are going to the Hinckwells!"
  13. "Dyric, there's a time and a place to be courageous, and then there's a time to look out for one's self interest. We could let them sit her and squabble over it, but where would that put us? I still believe it belongs to the Hinckwells." She gleams over at Thothwick, giving him a disapproving sneer.
  14. "I think these guys want each other dead, Dyric. If you honestly can find a way to make this end without, bloodshed, by all means, pull the invisible bombs out of your pocket. Until you do, I can't see this ending well... for any of us..." Karie loosened her cape's grip on her neck.
  15. "It's going to the Hinckwell's! We were hired by them to retrieve their goods, and if that gets me closer to what I need, so be it. I don't care about this feud, but it's in somewhat poor taste to turn tail on one's employer!" Hypocrite.
  16. "Thothwick, what happens when you put fire to something that can explode?" Karie sarcastically chirps at Thothwick. "Mreoow-eoow! <Are we seriously blowing this up? I have only three lives left!!>" "You two really want these bombs? I'm leaning over to the Hinckwells because I've got my priorities. Shawe seems to be the instigator in all this."
  17. Brickdoctor, why not change it so he's the same minotaur. As in right now. Besides, you should know all about retcons!

Looking around, the other three seemed less like they were dead and more likely unconscious. "Oi! Hey, look, no hard feelings, eh? Why don't we, eh, call it even and you allow us to run on, eh? So, please, why don't we-" "Stop, you ruffian!!" Paolo, Falner, and a surge of Town Watchmen swarm the area with a sea of red and blue, keeping aim on the three unconscious bodies and the Donny impersonator. Falner looks around at the mess of an alley, with holes and debris littering the street, while Paolo draws his short sword on the fake Donny and smirks. "Well, well, it's not every day one captures a dead man, or a dead Wolfgang general for that matter. You're all under arrest! Men, cuff and then carry the unconscious bodies back to headquarters, include "Donny" here!" "You can't do this, you have nothing to charge us on, you have no evidence!!" The four Wolfgang members are shackled and dragged off and out of sight as Paolo, Falner, and two other guards stick around. Paolo turns the party with a look of concern, despite smiling. "Are you alright? Are you hurt in any way? What did they do? We lost sight of you in the market, one minute you were walking behind us, the next you were gone in a mass of people! I feared for the worst! Thank goodness you're okay!" "Yes, it seems you got into quite the scuffle, there. How I wish I could have been there, like my time un Brendenton..." What would the party say?
  19. Karie felt taken back by the orcs statement. The Hinckwells were all a bunch of money grubbing old men it seemed, and not just Dil. "So we were sent here for nothing? To do what, exactly Henry? Steal back what you stole? What kind of business do you run anyway?" "Why? I got a fire staff. Will that work? Otherwise, I'm a witch. I heal stuff. If you wanted a fire slinger you should have called a sorcerer." He's going to do what I think he's going to do, isn't he?
  20. Karie flinches as Bors spits the blood in his face, wiping it off, unaware she wiped some of her white paint off as well. "For someone who was dead a few minutes ago that was awfully rude. Now then, I've got a proposition for you Bors. Tell me what happened precisely. I want the whole story. Who hired you, what you did, how you got your bombs. If you do, I'll heal your dwarf for you as well. Otherwise, he's as good as dead at this point. Talk."
  21. Karie sighed. "Well, I believe that we should give the chest to the Hinckwells. They did offer us money for it back. The Shadeux just busted in and said they own it. As suspicious as they are, I feel the money needs to go to the Hinckwells. However..." Karie heals Bors. She kicks his weapon away as well. She felt as if there were questions left unanswered. "Good afternoon, Bors."
  22. You like them? I've been trying to create more interesting and varied bombs, and ones that deliver status effects I thought would be neat. I could throw a few in another quest.
  23. After healing Thothwick, Karie heals herself. Karie looks the chest over, curious as to the lack of a symbol as to who owned the contents. "So... we're giving it to the Hinckwell's, right? Despite their shadiness, we did say we'd get the chest back for them." She was finding it hard to trust the Hinckwell's, particularly after Dil and now this Henry fellow. "I'll take the staff, if no one wants it. I've been meaning to get a weapon with elemental power in it for a while." Karie moves over to the four apparently dead men, covering her nose and mouth as she does so, checking to see if any of them were still possibly alive. "You'd think you'd be used to this by now, wouldn't you, Karie?" OOC: Zepher, whatever happened to my Rusty Dagger I got? I think you forgot to put it in my inventory...
  24. Karie lets out a sigh of relief. "Bomb throwing jerks... and I left early for this..." Karie notices out of the corner of her eye her black and white cat appear out of the grass, looking up at her with curiosity. "Mreoow. <I'm surprised you aren't dead with the amount of bombs being thrown around. That and->" "Where did you get off to, eh? Looks like someone got lost." She scratches Hershey behind the ear, Herhsey affectionately rubbing her head against her painted hand. Karie feels exhausted, and can tell the rest of the party is too. "Here, Thothwick, you need to be healed. Sit somewhere and I can at least try my best to get you looking better." She motions for Thothwick to sit on a stump so she can heal him.
  25. OOC: Yes, you can distribute the loot if you wish. As well, I've added the Party Bomb's ability.
