  1. Poking around the house, Darksten searches the cauldron in hopes of a meal, but if he didn't clue into the lack of a warm fire, the lack of food in the pot would've clued him in that no one had been in the house for a while. Poking around the chest Darksten finds various knitting tools, some wood carving equipment, and other nicknacks. However, glinting in the corner, Darksten finds a curious little coin. Hint Coin (Gives the user a hint about a puzzle or tricky situation. Usable only once. Has no monetary value.) "Grauh? Graaa-graau, raooor.<Army? I don't remember Heroica having an army. Last I heard they were still swords for hire. Time sure does fly... I had a lady friend once who lived near the city who was killed by a pack of heroes. Not to say she deserved it. She was rather needy. In the bear community I am known as Sir Bearrington. At your service. A menace? Bloody right. The spiders are at it again. It hasn't even been two years and already the bloody spiders are harassing the Murkwood again. The Forest Guardian, Roruk went to go investigate, I believe. He often acts as an intermediary and a protector of these woods, but I haven't seen him since he left for the Misery Mire. Things have been getting worse since he left too. Last I heard the spiders have begun to patrol the forest's boundaries. I'm surprised you heroes got in, did you run into any spiders.>"
  2. That's all fine and dandy, but how many unique encounters do we have, and what counts as a unique encounter? If that's the case, what about a quest like 93. Who counts as an important person, and what counts as an important scene, or place, since the plot really doesn't show up until the very beginning and the very end. (Sorry Sandy if it seems like I'm singling you out, but I'm not, your's is just the most recent example of a quest with that kind of plot. )It's more of a hassle for the player and QM in my mind since it suddenly makes the QM's job harder to decide what and who's truly worth knowledge points. Perhaps books can't be upgraded, period. I'd like that actually, since it suddenly gives the class a drawback, something all classes should have. Some books you find are going to be awesome, like the Pandemonicon and the rest of Byblos's collection, while others are meant to be just tossed as fodder.
  3. Karie crosses her arms. "Make me. I have one remedy on my person, and I'm saving it for an emergency. Why bother wasting a remedy when he's asleep? If splashing water on his face doesn't work, then we can use a remedy, but I'd prefer to save our items."
  4. Karie nods. "It seems so, Syrio. I was going to take him to the lavatory to splash some water on him, but if you have any other idea, I'd like to hear it."
  5. Karie carefully jiggles the venom out of the doctor's hand and pockets it. "Waste not, want not. Why don't we pick him up and take him to the lavatory to drench him with some water? Sorrow, Erik, want to give me a hand? Unless one of you has a better idea?" Karie grins mischievously.
  6. "Pfft. I've seen some ridiculous things, but.... this takes the cake. Although, there could've been something useful in here..." Karie checks what the doctor has in his hands as she mumbles to herself about a lack of resources.
  7. "A little hypocritical if I do say so myself." Karie checks the stalls for any students before moving onto the potion storage room.
  8. "Good riddance..." Karie mumbles as the Dean is whisked off. "Shall we split up again? I can take one of the two adolescents and investigate one of the other rooms. I can take Sorrow, Erik, the Grumpkin and Sorcha and take a look through the boys lavatory and potion storage. We'd be clearing out most of the area quicker."
  9. I preferred the books, to be honest. It gave the class flavour. Perhaps give the player a selection of books to choose from when they get into the class to start off? Give them two or three and if they want the rest of them they have to go out and find them? Other than that, I'm okay with the class. Basically everything Endgame said. I don't like the Fast Learner trait at all. What happens when you combine it with the Medal of Glory or Medal of Valor? Do they stack? The Medal of Glory isn't all that common, either. Perhaps a roleplaying alternative would be better? Here's a few ideas: Linguist- The scholar can translate any language written or spoken. Front to Back- Scholar's can pick up any book and understand it's contents quickly.
  10. And then suddenly, bears.
  11. Alright, but next time a heads up that you're travelling would be beneficial so I don't assume you're not posting. Questioning the friendliness of the animals, Deus is approached by a large woodland creature who looks at him curiously. It stands up on it's hind legs and tilts its head before speaking lazily. "G'roarr, ruu? <Never seen you around here before. Usually it's just the two goat folk. What brings you to the Thicket?>" Kianu's already off and away as Darksten grumbles. He decides to check inside the tree to see what he could find. Opening the door the ranger finds a single room with a fireplace in the back with a large cauldron over it. A small dining table sits close to it along with a mangy looking sofa and armchair placed closer to the door. A staircase leads upstairs. Hanging on the wall a large tapestry sits depicting a family tree. A chest sits tucked into a corner. The place isn't all well kept, but it's cozy. QM Note: I'll have an image up tomorrow.
  12. I second the notion!
  13. I'm surprised you've never heard of The Big Lebowski.
  14. Is Vega supposed to be Las Vegas? If so, can we please see the Dude, Walter, and Donny?
  15. Karie watches as Sorrow steps back, then looks down at the Dean. She finds it hard to hold herself back from outright killing him. "You sicken me. What you did to that poor girl is inexcusable. I could beat you, stab you, do all sorts of twisted messed up things to you, but I won't, because it won't change what you did. I snapped once before, Bumblebore. I was this close to killing him before someone came in and stopped me. That man wasn't all there. He was malicious, and vain, and manipulative. I don't see that in you. All I see is a sad, pathetic man begging for death. I won't give it to."
  16. QM Note: I'll update your inventories in a bit. For now lets get the quest moving. "Darksten, you can't be drunk still? I wish you'd remember my name..." The party distributes the loot dropped by their foes as Kianu walks towards the entrance, no longer blocked by the spider's web. The forest looked deep and dense, as vines and roots littered the ground as branches hovered overhead, blocking out light. "I don't know why those spiders blocked our path, but we should be safe until we get to the Thicket. There's some last minute preparations I wanna make before we enter the Misery Mire." Kianu leads the party through the forest, the group watching their step as the avoid the foliage. The satyr seems to traverse the area with ease, hopping from place to place, humming to herself as they go. Finally the party makes it to a pristine clearing. A small river winds it's way lazily through the grass, as the only tree in the entire area sits proudly. Animals meander around, seemingly becoming less hostile as the graze and relax. Even a few carnivorous creature seem less hungry as they interact with other creatures. The party reaches the enormous tree, noticing a door carved into it. A balcony lay overhead, with a few small windows placed haphazardly. "This is the Thicket, and my family has guarded it for generations. Or at least that's what my dad says. The animals around here act a lot calmer than they do elsewhere in the Murkwood, so generally when something happens in these woods, my dad hears about it hear. Although, it's been desecrated a few times... I've been meaning to go and pray, but if you want you're more than welcome to take a look around the house. I don't know how interested you guys are in joining me worship. I've heard it's boring to watch." Kianu follows a small path leading into the woods, a few lanterns dotting the path. It seems the party had some time to relax and prepare for whatever lay in the Misery Mire. QM Note: Options, options, options. Their's things to find and creatures to talk too, but we won't be here long.
  17. No images or videos of Cheese Sandwich? I am disappointed in you, Weird Al thread.
  18. Pfft, of course I didn't take that into account. My mistake Sandy.
  19. But he said he killed her two years ago, when the quest was three years ago. It's a plot hole.
  20. It's not so dark once you realize Bumblebore couldn't of raped and killed her two years ago since she would've already been dead by the time the party of Extra-Curricular Activities dispelled her from the school three years ago. So either he's lying, or Sandy's made a mistake.
  21. OOC: Bumblebore stated that he, I'm going to assume, raped and killed Isabeau two years ago. However, the quest in which Isabeau's spirit was dispelled was three years ago. How is that possible? I hate to say this Sandy, but I think you've made a flub. Karie was stunned. Shock runs through her body, followed by another emotion, one she hadn't truly felt in a long time. She hadn't felt it since that night in the Locunon. That night being tormented by the Apprentice. Rage coursed through her veins. She clenched her fists. "Sorrow, do you mind if I speak my mind?"
  22. "Uh, Masson..." Play Earthbound, watch Gargoyles, visit the friend I was going to go with. Normal stuff.
  23. Okay guys, change of plans. I will be here this weekend. Weather happened and unfortunately the area where we were supposed to be LARPing was hit bad, so the area's been closed off. So now you're stuck with me instead.

  25. QM Note: I'll run the battle round shortly, but three days without activity from some of you, Hoang Anh and Lego Spy, is disheartening. Inactivity for three days is generally when I start giving warnings, and with how slow this battle's been going, consider this it. If I need to, I will refuse to give out levels to inactive players. A week of inactivity will result in your character being booted from the quest and your character being replaced. There are multiple level one's looking to get on a quest in the hall who would leap at an opportunity to get on a quest. I want to see some increased activity since I know at least one of you was on yesterday. Let's see some improvement! I know you guys can do it!
