  1. Karie continues to strike the vipers. Same battle order.
  2. Karie continues to strike the snakes from the front row. Same Battle Order. OOC: Is autorolling a possibility, JimBee?
  3. I've been watching a bunch of the Lupin the Third movies, and I've got through Farewell to Nostradamus, Orders to Assassinate Lupin, and Island of Assassins/Walther P-38. Out of the three, Island of Assassins was probably the best, but the other two were a lot of fun as well. Farewell to Nostradamus had quite a few fun action scenes, and Orders to Assassinate Lupin was pretty intense at times. Perhaps not as intense as Island of Assassins, but it was still a fun romp.
  4. OOC: Bleeding takes place immediately after the round has been rolled, so Annienal should have -5 health. "No, I'm bleeding!" Annienal winces as she tries not to focus on it. "Keep me first in the battle order, Vindsval! I can still soak up some of the damage from these guys should the healer wake up." Annienal takes a potion from the back row.
  5. "Again!" Karie shouts, clearly agitated with some of the rounds shortcomings. Karie repeats. Same Battle Order.
  6. You see, when a hero joins Heroica, they are entered into a soul binding contract. Their souls are kept within The Valkyrie's Nôrn artefact, so the heroes are all unknowingly husks of themselves, not able to die since they're souls are not on their body. Heroes aren't made aware of this, since it would cause them to go into a frenzy, and potentially harm themselves. Still, I think you should join. And yes, this was all one big ploy to reference Madoka Magica. Go watch that show. Now.
  7. Karie attacks the Asps from the back row with her Blazing Palm. Battle Order Purpearl Skrall Karie Darksten Matthais Althior
  8. "Miderun, I'll take Cole. Keep me at the front of the battle order, Vind. I'll... I'll deal with him while you tend to Miderun. Just make sure the Healer's targeted!" Annienal shouts, sounding somewhat confident in herself. Annienal changes focus to Sean Cole, attacking him from the front.
  9. OOC: Does hail of arrows deal 9 damage per Bugbear, or just 9 damage? Also, the Green Asp. Are they level 6, or 24? Also, I should have 2 SP thanks to the Etherial Cloak.
  10. Those hats better be stackable.
  11. OOC: Yup. If I was in the front it would be full damage, but since I'm in the back it's halved. Annienal blocks the rogues attack with her shield, taking a moment to catch her breath. She notices Miderun bleeding. "We need Miderun back up! I'm not the best person to do so, since I really should be focusing on our enemies!"
  12. I think we were all more worried about you than whether or not you wrapped up a nearly wrapped up quest. I'm just glad you're alright.
  13. Karie equips the Mages Muffler, de-equipping the Paper Doll.
  14. Annienal targets the Warrior from the back row, hoping her armour would be enough to handle the posse.
  15. OOC: I got questions pertaining to the enemies because I'm a curious kitten. First of all, what does the Locustoid Healer's "Cut Down to 150" mean? For the Locustiod Warrior, what's the power of it's attack? The heroes level? Also, the 1/6 chance to only attack the enemy, is that referring to the Locustoid Warrior? Sorry, I'm just a little confused. With the Horses, does the extra free hit stack, or if a special is rolled does it only deliver one extra free hit? I'm going to assume the extra free hit is automatic, and cannot be blocked by targeting the horses twice?
  16. "Um, you know, guys, perhaps I should be the one talking to Cole... um, since, you know, I have experience talking with people... and stuff..." Annienal replies to the party's general shouting at the shadowed figure. She clears her throat before talking to Cole. "Excuse me, sir? Mr. Cole? What exactly do you wish to reclaim? Your men have come here only claiming to set up a welcoming committee. Needless to say most of my friends here would appreciate being treated better than common servants." Annienal asks Cole in a diplomatic and calm matter, holding her hand above her eyes to block out the sun.
  17. "Sounds like a plan. We'll head to the Apple Orchard and we'll initiate the War Challenge... I don't know how one goes about initiating a challenge against a bunch of creatures in an apple orchard, but whatever. Let's go!"
  18. "I think we'll head to the Apple Orchard to start. Do we want to take a challenge, or just run a plain round first to get everyone limbered up?"
  19. Karie moves over to Matthais. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out a silver medal, rubbing it affectionately. "This medal means a lot to me. It's one of the few things I own of my sister's belongings. Well, I guess you could say it was hers... Anyways, don't lose it, alright?" Karie hands him the Medal of Valour.
  20. I've been a little stuck on the Fellcreste quest, but I may wait and see how 130 turns out and if it's successful use that system for it since I've been hoping for a bit of town exploration.
  21. Annienal looks around for the horses the previous two men rode in on.
  22. Quest #122 I dug this quest quite a bit. I will agree it went on a little too long, as I had hoped the quest would last a month and half to two months... oops. The quest had a much more comedic vibe than most quests, and it was done intentionally, from the broken cart, to the aliens being allergic to wool, to being offered the opportunity to be willing probed, to Kaz's constant belittling of the party, it was all meant to enhance the bizarre and wacky situation with the aliens not being as threatening as they could've been. Some things didn't go as well as I planned, so I did cut them short, but I'm happy with the two main battles with the Others. They were tight, and they didn't drag on. Characters Siercon: Siercon was interesting when he was around. I think my one complaint might have to be that you seemed to be on and off sporadically, but you did state your reason why, and I understand real life comes first. I think the one problem is nothing really stood out about him. He was sort of just there. However, you did say some things and you did speak to Sorsha in a way I didn't intend for you and Matthais to, so then again maybe it's just me not remembering things. I tend to do that. Anyways, I'd love to have you again sometime! Purpearl: I freaking love Purpearl. I hosted you on your first quest, and here you are. The innocent little mage is now a headstrong mystic knight. I enjoyed having you along, and I dug you trying to negotiate with Kaz to little avail. All that aside, I got no real complaints and not a lot to say. I like Purpearl as a character, and I'd love to host you again! Matthais: I really enjoy Matthais. He's a down to earth, humble kind of guy, but he's got a sense of humour and he's easily irritated. Your reactions and conversations were always colourful and interesting, and I enjoyed you and Lind arguing from time to time. Fun stuff! All in all, I enjoyed having you, and I'd love to host you again! Lind: Okay, let me warm up. Time for constructive criticism mode to start... This was not your best RP, and it's surprisingly is one of the rarer instances of this type of bad PCing: Spotlighting. Avoid it like the plague. If you happen to find yourself in it through story means, take it. Sometimes a quest just clicks with a PC, and they do find themselves a little forefront, but Linds actions consistently made him try and push his way up to the front, and it was really distracting from both the other PCs and the quest through rather contrived and player made means. Also, I may be in the minority here, but I found "black knight with a purpose and angst" Lind less interesting than "cheeky, happy go lucky rogue, pun spewing" Lind. He had more of an interesting character, I guess. Take risks! I think a lot of us would've found it interesting if Lind slept with the two women, because that's a character trait, and a character flaw. I could buy a womanizing Lind. If you really want to take a shot at dating Annienal, who really would've known you slept with Rachelle and Lily? How many other women would Lind sleep with afterwards? It's stuff like this that bleeds off of saying "yes". Saying yes leads you into things more often than "no", but no is a valid answer to. However, it occasionally leads to nothing happening. I know this, I was on an improv team. About the Munchkins and Lind knowing about aliens. No. Just no. Like CMP said, I could've had bears on unicycles, and your character would've looked like a jackass. Metagaming is generally frowned upon, so avoid it because it's never really fun for the other players to be told that you know what's coming, and it makes you look silly when what you think is coming is something completely different. *slaps Lind* No. Bad Lind! You do not do this! Seriously though, there is no need for any of this. It's fun to muse about non-canon stuff, but keep it out of an actual quest, especially in this format. It threw me for a loop when I saw this, and I'm certain it confused others. Also, I know your stance on Hide, but Dodge already exists as a positive effect. The idea of Hide is that the player's character hides from any damage dealt to them throughout the round. Since the quest had a comedic nature I had Lind hide in the sheep pile. I'm sorry if this bothered you, but you should've came to me about it so we could come to a conclusion. That being said, I like your conversations with Lily and Rachelle the first time around. That was a fun conversation! That and I enjoyed your conversations with Matthais! There's a chemistry between you two, and I want to see it again. It just seemed that before and after Lind had sort of this "chosen one" mentality that really didn't mesh well with the group and the quest. In short, you've got work to do. Make sure Lind doesn't unintentionally spotlight, avoid being a Mary Sue, and tone the metagaming down drastically. This may seem hard, but with practice and time, you'll get there. I'm still more than willing to host you since you were very active, so hopefully next time will be a bit more positive. References -Wise Old Owl, or Owlowiscious, is actually two references rolled into one. The hard to pronounce name is actually from MLP: FiM. It's the name of Twilight Sparkle's pet owl. The long rambling dialogue was Kaebora Gaebora from the Legend of Zelda franchise, in particular Ocarina of Time. -The cart fight involving the two old men had two references as well! Statler and Waldorf were named after the two old men who sit in the balcony seats in the Muppets, and Big Mark was named after Big Macintosh, another MLP: FiM character, this time Applejack's older brother who doesn't have a lot to say usually besides "eeyup" and "nope". -Sorsha mentioning the green clad kid was a reference to the quest's inspiration, the alien invasion of Romani Ranch on the first night in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. -The Other Engineer was loosely, and I mean loosely, inspired by Team Fortress 2's Engineer. -Kaz and Gik were based off of Zim and Gir from Invader Zim, and Gik's Taco Tuesday nonsense was from Invader Zim (I'm almost positive, anyway), but also from Rainbow Rocks. If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask. Otherwise, I've got a spooky, scary necropolis to work on.
  23. "Sounds like you've done this before, Althior?" Karie says, nudging him in the arm. "Fair enough. We'll begin by heading to either the Corn Maze (3) or the Apple Orchard (4), then the Butterfly Plains (11), then the Sanctuary. From there, we'll hit all the easy areas, and then head West in search of the Wandering Monster. So, where are we heading? The Corn Maze, or the Apple Orchard. I won't vote in order to avoid a tie."
  24. OOC: I've got updated stats here. Thanks for having us! Karie arrives to the Fields, looking pleasant. "The sun's out, the breeze is blowing, there's barely a cloud in the sky, needless to say this looks like an excellent day for some adventure! Does anyone need any of my items? Darksten? Purpearl? Matthais? If not I'm going to hand things out anyways. So, where shall we start?"
