Heroica RPG- Quest #137: Where the Dead Go to Live

QM Note: You'll get reputation in the town no matter which one you do, but it'll simply be with a different group. The only repercussions of failing a quest is not getting the reward. -

"Perhaps. Although, you could help me in some other way, if you'd like to make some money. I am willing to help out your cause if you help out with mine." "Diane. Blasted woman... she owes me a lot of money, and I doubt she can pay it back since she's fled Vega for this place. She's been loaning more money from me than she can keep up with, and it's time she finally paid up; with her life. The problem is her contract states that when she dies, the deal is settled, but if she manages to turn undead, the deal is null and void, since she technically died. Blasted loopholes..." "See? I told you she was a tricksy little bitch." "Gord, still your tongue of such profanity." Milligorian states sternly to his partner. "Of course, I'm not at my element here. If you four could find her and finish the contract before she makes an attempt to turn by bringing me her head, I'll give you each a fair sum of 200 gold. Of course, we'll be here or at the Creaky Coffin at the East Gates." A new Side Quest has been added to your Journal. QM Note: Noted and fixed. The two men turn to face the half-giant and the dwarf. The elf seemed to appreciate Throlar's tone and stance as he bows towards the duo. The kobald merely nods his head. "Ah, well met, gentlemen. You will have to forgive my kobald companion, for he has no taste for the finer things in life. My name is Milligorian. I am what you'd call a... well, someone who ensures people keep their oaths, an enforcer, if you will, and there's someone in this town who has seemed to forgotten their promise." "Tricksy little bitch, she is..." The kobald stammers. "Gort, there's no use for such language... at least not yet." The elf returns his attention to the party. "With what do I owe the pleasure, gentleman?" "Of course, merely doing my duty. Keep safe." The guard returns to his duty, and watches the people going by. -
"Only 300. Sheesh, I feel somehow repugnant at the thought that my head is 300 gold. 500, at the least." Karie complains, grinning. "No, no you may not." Karie crosses her arms as the duo continue to talk. She clenches her arms at the mention of "out of country".

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
Kintobor replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Last anime I watched was Girls und Panzer. Goofy, innocent moe fluff with WWII tanks. It was fun. I'm sitting through Great Teacher Onizuka, and it's alright. The Vice-Principal is my new husbando, what with his Crezna. I can see why people enjoy it, but I'm having trouble focusing on it at times. I mean, sometimes it's ridiculous to a point I can't keep my eyes off it, but others I find it hard to not do something else. I'm going to try and get back into it, though, since I do enjoy most of the characters. That and I watched a bit of Star vs. The Forces of Evil. Star is my new favourite Disney Princess. It's a raucously humorous little show with a surprising amount of bite and a good amount of continuity. Colour me impress, but this is a show I may have to keep up with. -
Perfect Blue. Quite possibly one of my new favourite movies. The film's an excellent psychological thriller, and a great mind screw at times. The film's told from one characters viewpoints, even from scenes she's not in, so it makes for some creative storytelling. I'm starting to find appreciation for the work of the late, but definitely great Satoshi Kon. If you haven't seen it yet, you really owe it to yourself at least one viewing of it.

"Considering I'd prefer to not having my head anywhere but on top of my body, I propose not listening to you." Karie scolds Lind. "Although you do bring up a good point about the bounty. Is this bounty open call, or has Vorpalis set up his own little group of assassins and what not?"

"Clearly some disturbed assassin who thinks he can use the residents of this town as target practice. He's been a pain in our sides for the past while. He always attacks people at night with his bolts, and only undead. We've put a bounty out for him, preferably dead. If you want more information, here's the bounty notice." The guard hands Sorrow a piece of parchment with an official looking notice on it. A new Side Quest has been added to your Journal. "Multiple reasons. Captain von Zarovitch is the one who requested the barring of the gates. With the mutants running rampant, and now the sniper, von Zarovitch requested the gates to be barred, something the Countess has to authorize. Strangely enough, the next day, the Captain told us he had the authorization, along with a stamped letter from Lyudmila. It's all rather strange..." -
Karie shakes her head. "If you expect me to give up my weapons and allow myself to get captured, think again. You can go and become a pastry for Vorpalis for all I care, but I for one would prefer not listening to your silly schemes." Karie turns to the two bounty hunters. "What was the stipulation for the reward? Vorpalis looking for us dead or alive? Either or?"

OOC: Fixed. Also, since you've brought that up, you're ether has also been fixed in order to reflect the usage of your scrolls. Vindsval moves closer to the gate to try and hear the two men, but they're hushed banter is too quiet to hear. They do glance at Vindsval and the rest of the party though, clearly taking some kind of an interest in them. Vindsval isn't familiar enough with the taxonomy of undead to figure out if they're alive or dead, but he deduces they're probably alive. Throlar rummages around in a bin, and finds an animal... although it probably wasn't the kind he was thinking of. -Brooddy Bear (Quest Item. A worn, torn, old teddy bear. It's heavily stitched and sewn.) Sorrow soon realizes that the skull was more akin to a mask, and was used to hide the face of the guard, although from his stature he was definitely undead. "Good evening. These gates lead south-east, down the Blood Brick Road to Vega. That being said though, we've been given the order to not allow anyone to leave Fellcrest. If there's anything I can assist you with, such as directions, I am able to assist." The guard states assuredly. -
"If these two wind up being evil versions of our group members, I will personally eat your silly green hat." Karie replies.
-
"You're seriously still on this idea that they're evil doubles?" Karie's palm masterfully directed itself to her forehead. "Look, I've fought evil doubles of myself. Twice, actually! These people-" Karie motions to the ogre and moon elf, "are not evil doppelgangers!"

The party, dissuaded in their efforts to purchase goods from the Last Chance, head for the South Gates to search for the men in colourful garbs. The mouse sounds rather content and happy, although he does seem more focused on his food than the dwarf. QM Note: Throlar, are you going to go somewhere else? Or follow the rest of the group. -

Absolutely beautiful! There's so many meticulous little details, I could spend hours looking this creation over. I particularly love the colours. Well done! -

Throlar drops the rotten apple in front of the mouse, who sniffs at it before contently devouring it. His squeaks of content and happiness ring in Throlar's ear. The empty coffin seemed old and worn. It seemed as if someone rested here at some point. Perhaps the Last Chance also sold coffins? -
Although, what's going to happen to all of Blix's items that were given to him by Hoke? I say we divide it amongst the characters in the hall when he poofs out of existence.

Karie glares at Jinn. "I know exactly what the fog does. It makes you hallucinate, but not the sort of way when you take hallucinogenic drug. It brings your nightmares into reality, the stuff you wish you could forget. You'll have to excuse me if I refuse to decline answering what I see."
-
"The word is "drunkenness", Warlen." Karie remarks. "You know, you two would really make a big name in the theatre. Live for one night only, it's Lind and Jinn! See them bicker and berate each other in a full hour performance!" Karie spiels, complete with a change in tone to a boyish facade. She groans afterward, cupping her head in her hands. "NO! No, god, please, no! We're not splitting the party! The last time that happened we nearly got murdered by a demonic piano. I need a break. Where are the private hot springs?" Karie begins to rub her temples.

"...no. I'm sorry. I believe I don't need anything done. Have a nice day." The woman replies in her monotonous voice. She seems to completely ignore Althior's comment. -
"Oh, no you don't!" Karie exclaims. "I remember you originally wanted to go off into the fog, but begrudgingly went with Skrall and the others. You chickened out under pressure. I went with Jinnipher to ensure her safety, while you saved your own skin. For someone all for the saving of others, you're cowardice certainly managed to show at the most opportune of times for you to show your courage." Karie pointed out, crossing her arms. "If you two want to squabble, fine, squabble. You can both stay here because I'm getting annoyed with the two of you acting like children!"

The pale woman takes a better look at the party before sticking her nose up. "I beg your pardon, sirs, but I don't think you'll find anything up to your tastes here. Have a good day." Last Chance Convenience and Goods requires 3 Reputation to get serviced in. The mouse seemed more interested in finding scraps of food than it did Throlar's attempts at diplomacy. -
"Maybe because you read too many stories." Karie remarks in a bored tone. She turns back and continues to look at a particular spot near one of the rocks.
