  1. I personally hate to bend over backwards for people who criticize, since I do not take criticism lightly. I heard some people dislike the sets, but I personally think they should keep comments like "this sucks" to themselves.
  2. I hate it when people criticize SpongeBob. If you don't have anything nice to say about SpongeBob, PLEASE SHUT THE HELL UP! I wanted the line to continue, but it seems we've reached an impact. They should've kept SpongeBob for one more year, since THIS YEAR is his 10th anniversary. Why doesn't anyone here realize that SpongeBob is 10 years old now?! He's been on Nickelodeon since May 1999! Disney is OK, but I just wish LEGO would finish what they've started. If I worked for LEGO, I would keep the Nickelodeon licensing deal for another 10 years, shred any documents featuring a licensing deal with LEGO and Disney, and improve on the the SpongeBob sets A LOT more. This is the second time Disney has ever bent over backwards for LEGO. I remember the first time it happened. It ended in disaster. The license with Nickelodeon is far from over. They still have much to improve on! I can't believe they haven't released any Jimmy Neutron or Fairly Odd Parents LEGO sets yet. Disney hasn't really interested me, other than the cartoon, Doug (which of course carried over to Disney from Nickelodeon with the buyout of JUMBO Pictures), or the Pixar Films, like Toy Story, Cars, or Wall-E. I really hope this deal with Disney is as short lived as the deal in 2000 was, so that, in the next couple of years, they can go with another licensing deal with Nickelodeon, and not make the sets look so minimalist. SpongeBob Rules! --Justin
  3. Yeah, maybe 5 years from now... ...When they renew their licensing agreement with Nickelodeon, and if they do that in the future, I hope they make both the SpongeBob and Avatar The Last Airbender sets look better, too. Nickelodeon owns Avatar.

    City '09?

She's beautiful! If I were a minifig, I would totally date her!
  5. I hate it when people pick that set for worst! It's degrading. I happen to be a SpongeBob fan, and I'm 21. There's a lot of kids and adults that like SpongeBob. SpongeBob is suitable for kids ages 7 and up, since the show is rated TV-Y7, so it only makes sense as a LEGO SYSTEM set. I like the pineapple and the Patty Wagon, but the Krusty Krab they made this year is too small.
  6. If they brought back the Disney license for the 2nd time, then there is hope for the future when they drop Disney again and return to Nickelodeon for the 2nd time. Both Avatar and SpongeBob are owned by Nickelodeon, a division of Viacom. I don't see a problem with LEGO revisiting licenses.
  7. I put SpongeBob as 3rd best, because of all the unique parts, and because I like the show. The sets could've been designed a little better, though. And about those comments about SpongeBob being just for little kids, you're sadly mistaken. The show is like a Rocky & Bullwinkle-type show for the 21st century, as it appeals to both kids and adults. It's just that some people appreciate it more than others. SpongeBob SquarePants is celebrating his 10th Anniversary this year, by the way! He's been on Nickelodeon since 1999.
  8. I know we've lost a good license with Batman, but there's no reason to cry about it. And besides, SpongeBob is not crap. I'm sick of people like you, Holodoc, jifel, and other people criticizing SpongeBob. The criticism has to stop. I hate when people criticize, as it is one of few things I don't take lightly. Those criticisms bother the hell out of me. I like all kinds of different LEGO sets, but there are times when we all disagree on some things about them. Yes, some of the sets are better than others, but that goes for all themes from late '70s Classic Space all the way up to Batman.
  9. I doubt Mega Bloks will pick them up. There's other companies, too, like Kubricks, and Art Asylum, as well as K'nex. We just don't know, because nothing has been announced yet.

    City '09?

I would like to see a modern version of this set with a bus station done in the postmodern style of architecture in 2010 with a bus just like the one used in City Corner, but longer.
  11. It would have to be modified somewhat, by updating the the tailgate to the "click-clack" hinge look.
  12. The original Toy Story from 1995 will be released in 3-D this year.
  13. I used to have Gold City Junction, but that was a long time ago. It was my favorite. I would like to see LEGO re-release the Wild West/Western theme, or at the very least, a revival, similar to LEGO's new Pirates theme.
  14. Great job, Joebot! That must be the Fluxington Post Office, where the Unlikely Society and the Superiors send their letters and packages. I am familiar with your comics.
  15. I think LEGO ran Spiderman, Batman, and Speed Racer into the ground. Other considerations for the sales of LEGO sets are consumer tastes. Some people would prefer action to fantasy, while others would like to have both in a LEGO set. LEGO must adapt to the taste of the consumer.
  16. BEST LICENSED THEMES Indiana Jones Star Wars SpongeBob WORST LICENSED THEMES Galidor NBA Mickey Mouse ======================== BEST ORIGINAL THEMES City Pirates Space WORST ORIGINAL THEMES Alpha Team LEGO Island Xtreme Stunts Bionicle
  17. I like the idea of a Disney/Pixar LEGO theme, but I don't want LEGO to lose their Nickelodeon license, as it would be a travesty to millions of SpongeBob fans. I can't afford to see LEGO gypped out of another good licensing agreement. Remember what happened to their licensing deals with Marvel Comics/Spiderman and with DC Comics/Warner Bros./Batman? I cannot afford to see that happen with Nickelodeon/Viacom/SpongeBob. If I were the CEO of LEGO, I would cut down the number of Star Wars and Indiana Jones sets being produced to make some Disney sets available. I would like to see an Alice in Wonderland theme complete with a Cheshire Cat. I know Lego tried Disney before, with Mickey Mouse LEGO and Winnie the Pooh DUPLO sets back in early 2000. There's got to be a way in which multiple themes can coexist for a long period of time. I would hate for more short-lived flops like Galidor, Spiderman, or Speed Racer.
  18. With Space Police III taking place in a more modern galactic setting, that suggests the Classic Space theme is the galaxy's equivalent of ancient Rome to most of the alien and human races throughout the galaxy. I like that concept. I could see it now (if I were one of the Space Police officers). A picture of that statue gracing the cover of "Galactic Geographic" magazine. It's great that they're honoring the classics. First, the minifig collections, and now this.

I'm guessing the City Corner will cost $60.00 USD.

    City '09?

The City Corner set I'll definitely get! It will be a great companion set to the Town Plan from Last year. I also like that camper and sports car. That emergency phone would look great on the side of the road on a LEGO road plate, in the middle of a LEGO forest. The late summer LEGO sets look very promising!
  21. The new one, because it has more furniture.
  22. I've converted my review to just text.
  23. Actually, they're called mannequins.
  24. I tried making a review for this set, but my pictures turned out blurry, even when I made closeups. I might just convert my review to a text-based review. This set is a great improvement over the last one. I especially like that the interior of his house looks more like his living room, rather than a basketball court. I also like that they included portraits of Patrick and Gary. The only downside is that the stickers on Gary's bowl fall off (something that can be fixed with a little Scotch Tape). I also like the inclusion of furniture. The new Squidward head mold looks great, too, as does Gary, with his shell colored correctly this time (itwas orange in the first set, now it's pink, like in the cartoon). I also like the reef blower.
  25. The first LEGO Star Wars set I got, back in '99. I liked it.
