  1. You could always modify it to your liking!
  2. Right you are, Darth! I certainly agree. Disney tried this before in 2000, with LEGO Mickey Mouse and DUPLO Winnie the Pooh, and it failed big time. There was probably little to no interest at that time in a LEGO Disney license, and that wave of sets suffered for it. Let's hope they they do better this time, now that they have broader spectrum of themes, like Toy Story, Cars, Disney Princess, Prince of Persia, etc. I also ho hope that they make LEGO sculptures of Disney characters (could you imagine a Cheshire Cat Sculpture made mostly of hot pink and purple bricks, and some glow-in the-dark bricks for his teeth? ). Hopefully, it will be a successful run that won't be undersold or underappreciated, not even by AFOL's!
  3. LEGO Scooby Doo! The Mystery Machine: Includes Scooby Doo, Norville "Shaggy" Rogers, Velma Dinkley, Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, and Scrappy Doo. Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle: Includes Shaggy, Scooby, and the Fright Knight.
  4. That Turbine Transport set looks quite interesting. That Indy set has some useful parts for some Western gold mine MOCs, such as those tiny tracks. I also like the tow truck, as well as the sports car with call box.
  5. Blues Brothers Superman Rock Band Knight Rider Sonic the Hedgehog
  6. They were only great because of the pieces, and of course, SpongeBob SquarePants was in it. Here's how I ranked the sets from best to worst: The Chum Bucket (This one has the best features.) Emergency Room (This one has great pieces, perfect parts pack for those walls used in the Western theme.) The Krusty Krab (Another great set.) Rocket Ride (Great set. It even has Sandy Cheeks in it.) Good Neighbors In Bikini Bottom (This is a more accurate version of SpongeBob's pineapple. If you don't believe me, just look at the pictures at LEGO Shop.) Bikini Bottom Express (Good set, it would be better if they could just make it a tad bit longer...) Boating School (This set is O.K., although I would've done without the driving course.) Build-A-Bob (Not much I can say about this except that it looks better on display.) Adventures in Bikini Bottom (Poorly designed. Mediocre at best.) Krusty Krab Adventures (Minimalist, the only good thing about this set is that it includes the Patty Wagon and lots of brown and tan elements, plus a different face for each of the characters. If possible, buy it on clearance.) The sets were not all bad. Some were average. Some had their weak points. Some were fun.
  7. How about some licensed LEGO CITY subthemes: LEGO The Weather Channel Storm Chaser Vehicle A LEGO version of the Weather Center, featuring minifig versions of Stephanie Abrams and Mike Bettes. LEGO Pepsi LEGO Pepsi Truck with new logo, and truck driver. (available only through PepsiStuff)
  8. NOT the whole downtown, but maybe some of the more iconic buildings.
  9. Yeah, all three are great, but I voted for number one. It may look like a City Corner/Town Plan hybrid in the illustration, but it might look different once it is finally released. They all look so lovely, I wish I could vote for all three!
  10. Finally, someone who agrees with me!
  11. Best: 10184 Town Plan Worst: 7695 MX-11 Astro Fighter
  12. Sets that should've been designed better: Boating School Chum Bucket Krusty Krab Bikini Bottom Sets that should've been made: Flying Dutchman's Ship Sandy's Tree Dome Jellyfish Fields A Brickmaster exclusive featuring SpongeBob's racer from Nicktoons Racing A Brickmaster exclusive featuring the Patty Wagon from the SpongeBob SuarePants Movie
  13. Not really. You probably went on a day when that stuff was completely ignored. And besides that, there are still a lot of SpongeBob websites out there if anyone is interested. SpongeBuddy Mania SpongeBob Fan Club United SpongeBob SpongeBob.com Nick.com/SpongeBob SpongePedia SpongeBob SquarePants Wikia Sarah's SpongeBob Shrine Geocities.com/SpongeBob_SquarePants_is_cool SpongeBob.LEGO.com And many, many more websites in many different foreign languages around the world. If you do not believe me, just check the sites out for yourselves. SpongeBob has his own roller coaster at Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America. SpongeBob might get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the future (he does not have one yet). The Rugrats did. They, too, were ratings champions. Please don't question SpongeBob's popularity. I know he is still popular. I did not mean to bash anyone the other day. I must have gotten a little too excited the other day (too much caffeine, maybe?). It should all be behind us now. Like fellow Eurobricks user/Flickr contact/SpongeBob fan, Darthperson said, drop it and move on. A new SpongeBob SquarePants episode featuring Johnny Depp as the voice of the surf guru, JKL is set to air in April. It is called "SpongeBob vs. The Big One" __________________________________________ Now we should all understand where I'm coming from about SpongeBob's popularity. I understand he will be discontinued by LEGO. Like everybody else, we should all just move on. There will always be SpongeBob just about everywhere else. I understand others opinions. LEGO Disney, here I come!
  14. The pieces that are in it. You'll never know what pieces might be useful. We can do without the name calling!
  15. This is the second time Disney has joined the LEGO license lineup in 8½ years. The Toy Story and Cars themes might be the best out of all the Disney themes. I'm sure that they will use the same hat as Indy, but maybe in a darker brown. That hat is very versatile, as well as the Insectoid mask which was used in the Batman sets on Mr. Freeze. I hope they use the same helmet on Buzz Lightyear, as it is the closest to a ½ dome that LEGO has. Just remember that almost all LEGO pieces are versatile. I really hope they give us more pieces in "ShamWow orange" if you know what color I mean. It is the color used on the Belville dinner plates.
  16. Yes, there is a survey, and it is almost like the Nielsen TV Ratings, except that the latter intends to track sales reports from products like LEGO or other toys, much like how the former tracks the popularity of TV shows, like SpongeBob SquarePants, CSI, The Sopranos, or the Super Bowl. However, I think LEGO is doing a great job with their original themes, like Pirates, Town, Space, and Castle. Not to say that Star Wars is great. When it comes to licensed products, like Star Wars, Harry Potter, NBA, Speed Racer, etc., they tend to have varying levels of success. I'm sure Disney will be successful, probably not as long as Star Wars. But I hope pays off knowing how bad the world's economy is...
  17. Right, Kim! Let's keep our eyes on the prize. Now, if LEGO were to produce the tree dome from SpongeBob, they would have to bring back these pieces, which were last seen in a LEGO Hydronauts and Exploriens set. Like I said before, these pieces CAN be used to create the desired shape for Sandy's tree dome. Other than that, me and other fans are going to miss the unique pieces in odd colors that these sets provide. The last few sets were a little bit lackluster, but the pineapple house interior in 3834 had many big improvments, such as the addition of pictures on the walls, BIG improvement over 3827, should've done that in the beginning, instead of making it look like a basketball court. I like the addition of furniture, also something they've should've done to begin with. The Krusty Krab in 3833 was minimalist, as there was no baseplate like in 3825, but the only thing that was good about that was the vehicle, the "Patty Wagon". The hospital set was great. It had a lot of great pieces for LEGO Town (such as the computer, cabinet, drawers, and train doors) and LEGO Western fans (the brown walls x3). If there's one thing I would like to suggest, stock up on some of these sets on clearance if you are an AFOL, as they include lots of rare and unusual pieces for MOC builders, even if you're not into SpongeBob. You won't be disappointed. You don't have to like SpongeBob to like the pieces in these sets. I realized that mistake and now I know, everyone's entitled to their own opinion. Here's the problems with that sentence, C-Bug: The ideas may or may not have been random. 3827 and 3834 are two completely different sets. 3827 had the basketball hoop, but that was omitted in 3834. 3834 just had various pictures on the wall. Not all ideas are random, such as the marshmallow launcher, that was loosely based on the Camping Episode, where Patrick shoots a marshmallow at Squidward. There are just some things people don't understand about these set. Juging a LEGO set by it's appearance is basically like judging a book by it's cover. Don't do it. I realized my mistake, please, don't bring it up, were talking about LEGO, for goodness sake. In closing, I personally think that I've made a mistake. I will never do it again, and instead, talk about the topic at hand. Thank you for your time. ~~Justin
  18. It's probably a Scala accessory. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My best & worst: Best: All tools on the sprue, including the box wrench, open end wrench, hammer, screwdriver, oil can, and power drill. I think the power drill is the best tool on the sprue. Worst: Space scanner tool. Without a 2x2 dish on the front, it's almost practically useless.
  19. I sure hope that next year's 25th anniversary of Back to the Future becomes a success. Who knows what might happen? There are quite a lot of fans, presumably in their twenties and thirties that like BTTF and its sequels, cartoon and ride at Universal Japan. I doubt that might happen right now. Maybe someday, when they reach a deal with Universal Pictures to license Back to the Future, Jaws, and a few other Universal properties. Like Doc Brown said: I'm sure we'll all make the future a good one if we keep LEGO in business, by buying new LEGO sets. LEGO Time Cruisers 'kind of' had a Back to the Future-type concept, as well as their evil reality-bending counterparts, the Time Twisters.
  20. Lists are cool. I most certainly agree. I just hope the new LEGO License gets two good years of success. Here's a Tylenol for all your headaches. I foresee two possibilities with the new Disney license: If the license becomes a success, hooray for LEGO! LEGO's got another hit on their hands. If it fails, maybe LEGO would have to start back at square one: the search for a new license begins after LEGO Disney officially 'pulls a Galidor'. From now on, I won't treat a loss of a good LEGO license like SpongeBob as if it were a second "Disco Demolition Night", and become a good and well respected CITIZEN from now on. It's all behind me now. It's a new day here in the States.
  21. I most certainly agree! I know there would've been more potential with the license, but whose to say? I also hope Mega Bloks doesn't steal the license, because they might degrade it with their low quality product. I think the only LEGO Disney sets I might collect, are the Toy Story sets. I liked that, as well as a few other Disney/Pixar films. I'm sure that this will be an experiment during the first year. If it becomes a success, may the license be continued. If it becomes a failure, may the license be discontinued. I like some Disney, but not a lot, but hey, it's only my opinion. Now, getting back on subject, maybe if the Disney license succeeds, maybe we might see some sets based on classic Disney properties like Aladdin, which I also used to like. Imagine having a LEGO Agrabah!
  22. I have the sets, the buildings did change. The inside of SpongeBob's House had pictures on the inside wall this time. The Krusty Krab also changed, but it was scaled down. I did my own comparison. If you don't like it, you're entitled to your own opinion, as I am entitled to mine. They were complete redesigns, maybe you don't see it, but I know they are. I now know that I have accept the things I can not change. Like... The 1984 AT&T divestiture (That would've been impossible to change since the phone company is no longer a 'natural monopoly' and that SBC merged with them as recently as 2004) The 2004 election (I wanted John Kerry to win) The life in which I live (I'm in a foster home) The fact that Walmart hurts small businesses The fact that LEGO has to give up on one license for the other (time to face the music) Onward and upward.... I understand now. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Back on topic... I just have to face the music, let LEGO move on, only to (maybe) crawl back sometime in the future. Criticism aside, LEGO is most certainly better than Mega Bloks. ~~~~~~~~~~~ I promise to be a good CITIZEN now! Fight autism with LEGO!
  23. Hey, look, I realized my mistake, said I was SORRY, please don't be so negative. I feel we need to stop complaining I hope LEGO and Nick decide to get back together someday (keeping fingers crossed), because Mega Bloks are cheap pieces of crap. I also think there's many things LEGO could've improved on. The line may have not done well, but it STILL had a cult following, much like the rare SNES video game EarthBound. The last two sets MAY have been minimalist, but puh-lease, don't remind me! Sandy's house woud've been made using the dome pieces quite similar to those found in LEGO sets such as the Android Base or the Hydro Crystalation Station, as well as some brown and green pieces for the trees. SPONGEBOB FOREVER. Yes, SpongeBob is still in, you just don't care! I still like SpongeBob! SpongeBob rules! There's millions of people that still like SpongeBob, don't you ever read the newspapers?! Why Disney? I would've preferred Universal Studios, because of "Back to the Future" I think Disney should stop bending over backwards for LEGO! This license with Disney WILL go downhill IF they are as bad as the first! Shopko should've become national before Kohl's! I'm sure that in the future ShopKo will expand. I could care less about anyone caring less, because I admitted my mistake ShopKo is better than Walmart! SHOPKO: MY LIFE. MY STYLE. MY STORE. Buy one LEGO set, get the other 20% of at ShopKo, that's better than the Rollbacks that Walmart tried to cram down my throat! Burger King will outlive McDonald's in the future! Pepsi will outsell Coke in the future! Why am I saying all this in a forum about LEGO. Happy 10th Anniversary, SpongeBob! And here's to another ten years at the top! If you don't like him, lock yourself up and throw away the key! GO PACK GO! Great Scott! When will I stop? I don't know what most of this has to do with LEGO, but I was going off topic for a little bit there. I would love to see LEGO do a licensed subtheme for city with The Weather Channnel. Imagine how cool it would be to have Weather Channel storm chasing vehicles. And about ShopKo, I buy most of my LEGO sets there as well as Toys "R" Us. Pepsi forever! Down with MegaBloks and Walmart! The two most humiliating things in the world! C'mon LEGO, give us a DeLorean! Not some more lame Disney toys! I would also like to see a Pepsi license! Like Darthy just said, just drop it!!!! I live in AMERICA. It may be a rehash, but, WHO CARES. DON'T COUNT ON IT! I already realize that I made a mistake. Thanks anyway. I have a right to an opinion, too. I had this type of trouble back in high school. Now I realize what it did to me. Now I know better. I apologized, now I'm going to drop it as soon as everyone here accepts my apology. Thank you.
  24. I said I was sorry!
  25. I'm sorry for the harsh words. I just don't like it when people criticize.
