Preference of Imperial Guard Epaulette colour
Gen. Knowledge replied to Peg Leg Pascoe's topic in LEGO Pirates
Yellow all the way for me. I would rather have different torsos for different ranks then having different epaulettes. That being said, my soldiers don't have epaulettes, only the officers. -
Thanks Cpt. PegLeg, I never thought of that. I guess it's time to go network with the other AFOL in my area. Humm...so how do I find them? Tony

Pictures of my army as it stands today.
Gen. Knowledge replied to Gen. Knowledge's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thank you Emperor Bonaparte. I will be designing a flag for my army soon. I just made another major change to my army, and I'm excited to see how it comes out. I also have a script for a comic and some ideas for MOCs in the works. I'm hoping to have my army at full strength before the month's end, but there have been delays from supplies and organizational changes. My goal of obtaining 378 Imperial Guards has been made harder because I now need 480. These Imperial Guards are very illusive and expensive. The weak US dollar is not helping. I guess all I can do is buy them 4-5 at a time on eBay. Imperial Soldiers on the other hand, I have too many (if having too many is possible) of. I only need 240 of them, but it seems like I have close to 300 and counting. I'm thinking I may have to reverse there rolls if I can't find more Guards. I just bought some torso stickers off Bricklink, so if it works out, my Command Staff, Home Guards, and Artillery company will look much different and be much larger. Tony -
Build the grandest army you possibly can
Gen. Knowledge replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Maybe one of the nice member of this board would bid on it for you, and when you get paid, you can pay the member...of course there is the small fee of say 2-3 Imperial Soldiers with shakos. Just consider it a casualty of war. Tony -

Gen. Knowledge replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
With the US dollar so weak, you would still be getting a good deal...until the bidding gets out of hand, then nobody is getting a good deal except the seller. Post number 50, YES! I'm half way to citizenship... Tony -
Will there ever be a newer better ship than the BSB or SES?
Gen. Knowledge replied to Antsa Antero's topic in LEGO Pirates
I think if or when the new line of Lego Pirates comes out, we are going to see a lot of integrated pieces. I've notice over time the piece count goes down ever so slightly. There are exceptions like the exclusives and some of the hard to finds. But if Lego wants to appeal to children, they have to make the theme more durable and playable. It wouldn't surprise me to see fully enclosed hulls like the city ships that can float. Let's just hope our questions are answered soon my Lego. Tony -

CONTEST: Pirate LEGO Smiley Wars - VOTING
Gen. Knowledge replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
The King Kahuka is my favorite. -
Minifig scale, but big enough to transport my cavalry units and their horses along with my large army. Tony

Has anyone ever used the brown log walls horizontally for a ships hull? I think it would look nice if there was a way to do it. I've seem one online that had them running vertically, but that didn't look realistic. Tony

She's beautiful, Captain Green Hair! I love the details.

What do you think of the Islander sets?
Gen. Knowledge replied to Island boy's topic in LEGO Pirates
I don't mind the Islanders. If I ever came across a huge lot of 100s for cheap, I would not pass it up. My Imperial Empire like to bring culture, religion, education, and taxes to civilizations that don't use gunpowder. Tony -
Hello ImperialShadows, I tried posting in the Bricklink forum under wanted, but didn't get any replies. The piths are not expensive at all currently ($.13-.30) on Bricklink, but if you add in shipping for 5 white piths (sometimes $5) it starts to add up fast. if I buy ten small lots, I could be throwing away $50 in shipping and handling fees. I also tried buying the cheap Dr. Charles Lightning or any Adventure minifig wearing a pith for that matter if they have them in the same store at the loose piths. I guess that is what I will just have to continue doing. Oh well, this is the high cost of the hobby and for coming out of my dark ages so late. I will be posting new pics soon of my army. My goals have changed, causing me more problems. My original post stated I wanted a 600+ force, now it is more like 1,000+. I got a great find on a lot of brown piths I will be using for my artillery companies, but I still need lots and lots of white piths. I am also thinking about using the white police hats or white construction hats for my Logistics Company to help with the pith shortage. Tony

No offense taken Wes. I spend almost 100% of my time on Eurobricks here in the Pirate forum, so it was just easier for me to ask all y'all if there was any other websites that sell Lego parts. I really wanted to ask in the Buy, Sell, Trade forum, but I am not a citizen yet. I'm currently looking for white pith helmets, but I am in need of a lot of parts to complete my army so I can begin my Navy. Tony
-
Hello, They won't let me ask this in the BST forum, so I will ask here. I'm sure they will shut me down if this is not appropriate, let's just hope they don't ban me from the site. I am in need of more white pith helmets for my Imperial Empire. I've scavaged Brinklink and eBay, and can't find any large (30+) lots. Actually I bought all the large lots and now there are no more. Are there any other sites out there that sell minifig parts? Where do most of the army builders on this forum buy their parts? Tony

Awesome WIP oo7, I just have a couple questions. Is that a Brickarms M1 the soldier at the bottom is carrying? Would they really put a cannon so close to the lighthouse? Just seems like too easy of a target. None the less, I really like it, thank for sharing. Tony

Just as I was getting comfortable here... Personally for me, I don't want to have to log in to two different sites and navigate between the two constantly. I don't care which site wins, but lets hope it is only one site that wins. If we can unite under one banner (site), it would be so much easier to pass on information, for contest, and to share MOCs. Come on pirates, don't let me slip back into the dark ages. Just my opinion, and I've been known to be wrong a lot! Tony
-
I like it. Maybe if you have it, try using a different color then black. Or at least mix it in with other colors to bring out some of the details (see second to last photo). Thanks for sharing. Tony

Thanks Mister Phes, I really enjoyed some of those films. There are a lot of talented members out there. Tony

Hello SirNadroj, Very nice! I really like the framing of the picture. Did you paint the minifig's legs to give it the appearance of shoes/boots?
-
Very nice ship Captain K.
-
Is this an official Cub Scout badge? Did you getting for raping and pillaging? Just kidding. It's not a subject to joke about.

I took a closer look at the head and it has the Lego logo. But that could be cloned also. Tony

Check out this huge lot of minifigs for sale
Gen. Knowledge replied to Gen. Knowledge's topic in LEGO Pirates
I just checked Bricklink for Imperial Guards, and there doesn't seem to be any big lots left (20+). Someone must be building up a big army out there. I hope this doesn't raise the already inflated price up even higher. I guess my army will have to wait. -
I hope it is ok to post this here. Look at this huge lot of Imperial minifigs for sale at BL. The link to the store is HERE if you are interested. Kind of pricey, but you get a complete army in one purchase. I wish I had the money for it. Tony
