  1. That is brilliant SirNadroj! Wow she sure is beautiful. Great job. I've been waiting on a shark I won on eBay to add to my MOC, now I will have to rethink adding it so it doesn't look like I am try to copy you. Tony
  2. If you're thinking it looks a lot like Bonaparte's French army, you're not alone. Too bad it looks like he is not shipping to the US. You European army builders are lucky, it seems like you have lots of huge Imperial Soldiers armies to bid on. Tony
  3. Thanks Capt. Green Hair, I will try placing some trans 1x1 to see how it will come out. I tried that underwater next to the clams to simulate air bubbles, but it didn't come out well. What are cheesesslopes? Are they the 1x2 45 degree ones? Thanks for the comment Capt. Zuloo. I did watch your movie, and I left you a comment. Do you have a picture of the jagged look you are talking about? Thanks SlyOwl. I don't think anything I could build (yet) would give you cause for concern in any contest. I just like to use the contest as an excuse with my wife so I could build in peace. Otherwise she just thinks I'm playing with toys. What is the wing piece you are referring to as a breaker? Is it the blue half-octagon piece? I have a lot of those, but it just didn't look right. Maybe I will try again. I'm going to head off to try everything you and the two Captains suggested before the wife gets home. Be back in a jiffy. Tony
  4. Hello, I am working on my second entry for a Castaway Contest, and can't seem to get the blue plates to look like water. Does anyone here have any suggestions. I checked Bricklink for translucent blue plates, but couldn't find any that would really work well. I would appreciate any criticisms or comments. Thanks. Notice the blue plates look nothing like water. Looking back I should have mixed in some different gray slops to lighten up the ocean bottom. Just a top down overview. BrickShelf Gallery (when ready) I added some pictures of my updates of this MOC HERE. Tony
  5. That's a great idea Capt. Zuloo. I'm surprised there isn't already a forum for brickfiliming. I love to watch brickfilms, and would like to try my hand at it someday. Tony
  6. I just updated my original post to include a link to my Brickshelf Gallery if anyone is interested in seeing more pictures. Tony
  7. Nice ship. I like the sails you made for it. If you don't want to wait for LEGO to release new pirate ships, you could buy the troll ship and use the mast from it. Otherwise eBay or Bricklink would be your best bet, which I would recommend. You could be waiting a year or more for the Pirate Theme to return. Tony
  8. Hey Guss, The new pictures came out great. There is a lot more detail without the overexposure from the flash. Your "Little Hideout" isn't very little is it? If I had one suggestion, it would be to change the wheels on your cannon. Maybe if you used wagon wheels that matches the cannon barrel in color. The wheels on there now look a little too modern. Another thing you could do is take off the tread and let it roll on it's rims, or don't change it at all... Either way, great job. Tony
  9. Sure, I will lend you the money...but wouldn't I be bidding against myself? Tony
  10. Very nicely done. I like the two toned building. With warehouses like these, you want the windows high up to make it harder for others to steal your loot. That cannon looks like it could blow a hole through anything. Tony
  11. Hello Sir Jami344, From what I can see of your single picture it looks nice. Do you have any story behind it? Don't let the lack of same color (I'm from the US) bricks stop you from building and posting. I'm sure almost everyone here has run into a situation when we didn't have the right brick or right color. It looks like you might actually play with your creations. You might want to take a series of pictures as your playing and add some narrations to tell a story with them. Keep up the great work! Tony
  12. WOW! I am speechless. Your work is pure genius. You are a true Lego artist. Tony
  13. Thanks oDDerFisken, I got the idea of a waterfall from other member's MOCs I saw on this forum. Of course a small island like this would not have a waterfall running that long after it rained. Thanks Mr Tiber. Yes, I have seen the movie Castaway with Tom Hanks. It's the first think I thought of when I read about the contest. And yes it is loosely based on an event from the movie when Tom Hanks' character thinks about hanging himself. Although in the movie it was years later before he made his own raft and sailed off the island. Don't be depressed, just because he is about to jump doesn't mean he did jump... Thanks for commenting HMS243. Hi Axle, I got the clams and whips from a Star Wars set with Jarjar Binks, Quigon Jin, and two droids (I'm sure I spelled the names wrong). Thanks Manta Tony
  14. Thanks Mister Phes, sorry I didn't do my due diligence. It's early in there morning here in California and I'm still trying to wake up. Tony
  15. Very nice! I like all the details you have.
  16. Awesome. I really like the custom work you did on the sails and netting. Is there anything below deck? Tony
  17. Hello, Are there any current sets/themes that have lots of pieces that could be used to build ships and forts? Maybe the Vikings, Castle, or Indiana Jones. I want to start buying classic Pirate sets, but they are just too pricey. I'm looking for some alternatives to Bricklink. Thanks. Tony
  18. Yes, how does the saying go? "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." Thanks for your comment Bob. Well I thought the topic was a little off for a kids toy, but I've seen MOCs with simulated blood and guts so in contrast this isn't as bad...right? There is a message to it though. The message is, "Tomorrow will be a better day". Luckily for Bart, the tree is weak and keeps falling apart every time I move the base. Thanks for commenting Captain Zuloo. Thanks for your comment Mister Phes. Fortunately Bart is in paradise, unfortunately he can"t get off. I thought about a tree house, but I only have gray, white, and black pieces left. I need to order some brown flat 1x?s, I think they will come in handy since my main focus is on the pirate theme. I should order or bid on some trees also. I thought I had one somewhere, but couldn't find it. I wanted to do a ship, but the rules of the contest only allows use of a 32x32 baseplate and 1 minifig. Thanks for the compliments Captain Green Hair. Thanks Guss. Tony
  19. Great video! I can't what to see what happens next. Here are my suggestions. The Marines should go back and get their man. Isn't their motto "Leave no man behind"? Samuel and John should escape, but with a ship full of Marines, I don't know how your going to pull that off. Keep up the great work. Tony
  20. WOW! very nice MOC. I really like the use of Forrest men. Tony
  21. Hahaha! I really like this one. Very fun action scene. Great job! Tony
  22. Vig. 16c Hello, I just made and submitted my first ever MOC as an AFOL on another website. I wanted to post some pictures here to share with all of you. It's the first thing I have built in over ten years. I just started building my army in June of this year, so I haven't really spent a lot of time buying bricks to build MOCs. I hope to improve on this MOC before I have to cannibalize it for something else. Please let me know how I can improve on this MOC. And yes, I know the tree trunk is square and there are gray pieces in the tree... I'm even surprised I had this many green pieces. Bart has been shipwrecked on this small island for over ten years. His loneliness and depression has finally drove him to end his life today. Little does he know that a small boat has just washed ashore on the other side of the island. If only he waited until tomorrow, life would have been better. EDIT: Sept. 8, 2008 Here is a link to my Brickshelf Gallery where you can see more details of the island. Tony
  23. I like your peasants, but think the father looks more like an older brother. Maybe you should consider giving the dad a face with some facial hair. Tony
  24. Hey Badger, Have you or Will ever thought about producing the M1 Garand with a bayonet attached? I think the M1 with a bayonet would satisfy both WW2 fans and Imperial army fans. Tony
  25. I would rather have the pirate theme then this new power miner theme. I'm not sure if the old rock raiders sold well or not in the US, but bringing them back instead of the pirates would be just wrong. Tony
