  1. Their boys are in high school now. The oldest will be a senior this upcoming year. I just feel bad about asking for the stuff back. Also after all these years, they probably mixed in a lot of their own sets so it would be hard to figure out whats mine. I'm not that close to them either. I've probably seen then twice their whole life, and it's only been when there is a death in the family. I don't really care much for the bricks as much as the minifigs. I had a large army of Black Falcons, they where my favorite, and large armies of other castle minifigs. I also had a huge army of Imperial Guards. I remember how my girlfriend at the time and I use to go to all the local Target and Toysrus stores to buy up all the Bounty Boats, Pirate Minifigs, and Sea Mates sets just to build up my army. I had hundreds of those useless Captain Hook minifigs and monkeys. My wife doesn't understand my obsession with Lego. She hates it when I spend hours on the computer looking at Lego sites like this. HAHAHA
  2. Humm...I was planning to outfit my Brigade with Brickarms' M1 Garand, since it looks more like the Martini-Henry rifle then the musket or western rifle to me. I love the idea of having a bayonet either fixed or removable.
  3. I choose the redcoats because one of my favorite movies of all time is Zulu Dawn, and the redcoats remind me of the British soldiers in that movie. I like the blue coats also, but I use them more as elite guards or cavalry while the redcoats are usually foot soldiers. You've got to love the foot soldiers of that era, they were willing to stand yards away from the enemy in formation and fire single shot muskets/rifles. When I post pictures of my Brigade, you will see a slight resemblance to Zulu Dawn.
  4. Hello everyone, I'm a closet AFOL. I've been playing with and collecting Lego sets since the late 1970's. About 10 years ago, tragedy struck. My Lego collection I had stored in my parent's garage was given away by my parents to the children of visiting cousins. They thought I didn't want the Lego sets anymore, so they gave them away. Well, I'm too embarrassed to ask for them back, so I have been on a mission to rebuild my armies. I've taken some time off, but recently I've been inspired to get back into Lego building after a trip to Legoland in California. Right now I am in the process of building up a British inspired brigade. I should have pictures up hopefully by the end of next week. I changed the look of my Brigadier General and higher ranking officers after checking out some of the armies on this site. I am also looking into ways of designing and producing custom flags for my brigade. I should also look into creating a story around this brigade to keep all-y'alls interested... Tony
