Very nice Slyowl! I really like the details you put into it. The small ship is a nice touch. Tony

I just read an article about Lego's 2009 lineup, and there is no mention of the new pirate theme. The article does state that it's the January lineup, so there still could be a May release. I was just hoping we would see some pirates early next year. Here is a link to the article if you want to read it. Click Here Tony

Thanks for the review Mister Phes. There really isn't much to say about this set. By itself I wouldn't have bought it, but I think it came with some Imperial Guards in the value pack. I guess it's more like a minifig pack, just split into individual packs. Tony

Hello Infomaniac, With a screen name like yours, I'm sure you wonder a lot. Currently I don't do anything with my army. I still need about 120 redcoats to complete my army for now. My plan was to make a stop-motion movie, but now I think I will just make a comic or slideshow because it is easier and takes less time. I have also been inspired to build MOCs, but nothing that would require me to use all my soldiers at once. Tony

I added a new picture of General Knowledge (white epaulette), a Lt. Colonel (red epaulette), Imperial Home Guard (shako headgear), and members of my Imperial Artillery Company (gray torsos). See my original post on this thread for the picture. I got these custom torso stickers from BL. The color is off, but it will due until the new soldiers come next year. Finally, citizenship! Tony

Custom Brickarms Flintlock Musket and Pistol?
Gen. Knowledge replied to the enigma that is badger's topic in Pirate MOCs
Hello Mister Phes, I do have a Brickshelf account, but I don't like having to upload my pictures one at a time and having to resize them when I want to include them on this forum. Flickr has a 100mb upload limit for the free account. Since I like to upload my pics close to full size, I run out of space quickly. I also have a paid Flickr account for personal pictures, maybe I will create a set on there to upload some Lego pics. Tony -
A realistic Port Town House created with LDD
Gen. Knowledge replied to Joey Lock's topic in Pirate MOCs
There doesn't seem to be any doors. I guess it's a good thing because I am always forgetting to close the door. Nice creation. Is it available for purchase through Lego's website? Tony -
Your ECCHI pic on your signature is very distracting already, then you went and said SEXtant... Tony

Very interesting use of Cavalry minifigs. What did the Union and Confederate Navy look like during the Civil War? Did they wear the iconic Blue and Gray as the army? Tony
-
It's nice Sir Dano. Is the captain wearing a red space helmet? Tony

Excellent work. I like the waterfall and how there is room under it to hide out. Great details. Tony

Nice MOC Grimmclaw, maybe you should add some minifigs. I like the angles from some of your pictures. Tony

Custom Brickarms Flintlock Musket and Pistol?
Gen. Knowledge replied to the enigma that is badger's topic in Pirate MOCs
Hello Mister Phes, I am working on getting some new pictures, but I reached my limit for this month on Flickr so it won't be until September before I can upload new ones. I also don't want to spam this forum with pictures of my army, so I am working on a MOC to share with everyone. Tony -
Hi FatesPuppet, I'm sure your MoC would be appreciated more here in the Pirate forum, but it's a great MoC fitting for any forum. I like the details you put into the fort. The tiling in the courtyard is my favorite. I also like how everything is accessible for play or staging. Are you planning to add to this fort? Tony

Would you open a MISB SYSTEM Pirate set?
Gen. Knowledge replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
This isn't going to sound nice, but the way I see it, there is only two reasons for not wanting to open a MISB Lego set. First, you already have the set and don't need the parts or didn't like the set. Second, you are greedy and want to make a profit on someone else's missed opportunity. Let me explain. Lego sets are made to be played with. They were never meant to be placed on a self and hidden away for years. Face it, you can't take it with you when you die, and unless you just enjoy looking at the box (buying just the box would be cheaper) you should sell it and make someone's day. So then comes the greed. People will go out there and buy as many sets as possible and store them just to resale them at outrageous prices. I saw a MISB SES on Bricklink for over $1,000 USD. Now why would any body buy a SES and not want to open it. At $1,000+ I wouldn't open it! Enough ranting, I'm actually glad there are people out there that are hording MISB sets. It gives future generations (future wealthy generations) the opportunity to have a complete set. Plus it's a good investment if you can sell it. I'm actually looking to buy some complete sets soon, some MISB. I will be opening then for the parts though. I think the best thing TLC could do is re-release an old set form each theme every six months or a year. This would lower prices and give new generations of children access to classic sets. Sorry if all this has been posted to this tread already. I was just too lazy to read through 15 pages. Tony -
Well at least you two have an excuse. I have a decent camera (Nikon D80) but I still take crappy shots. Tony

Custom Brickarms Flintlock Musket and Pistol?
Gen. Knowledge replied to the enigma that is badger's topic in Pirate MOCs
I purchased some M1 Garands for my cavalry. Not only do they look good, but the quality is awesome! I was going to buy the Garands for the rest of my army, but since there is something in the works for the pirate theme, I will just have to wait it out. Now that the pirate theme is coming back, there is more of an incentive for Will to produce weapons for that time period. Tony -
Custom Brickarms Flintlock Musket and Pistol?
Gen. Knowledge replied to the enigma that is badger's topic in Pirate MOCs
That's so not cool... you can't make a statement like that and not give us at least some more information. Is it a weapon? Is it an edged weapon? A firearm? A combination of the two? Please badger you must say more! Will we be seeing it oh let's see, in the next couple of months? Maybe BrickCon? I need to know something good is coming so I can stop buying the WW rifle for my army. Tony -
Hi Daniel, Very nice ship to add to your already beautiful fleet. I like them all. Great job mate! Tony

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Gen. Knowledge replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
Hey Trexxen, If Imperial Guards/Soldiers is what you like, then you should get sets with them in it and with shakos. Spend your money wisely and get exactly what you want and skip all the distractions. If your goal is to build an army, then hit Bricklink and some eBay auctions for just the minifigs. There are a lot of auctions on eBay selling 5+ minifigs with a cannon or boat and weapons. If you can win these, they are a better deal then Bricklink. If your goal is to build vignettes or MOCs, go for the sets with Imperial Troops so you will have the white and yellow brick parts for building forts or ports. Likewise if you want to build ships for your men, buy ships like the Imperial Flagship or BSB if you can get them cheap. The BSB can easily be converted to an Imperial ship with the changing of the flags. Whatever path you take, have fun and wait for the deals. It will let you stretch your dollar further and get more of what you want. BTW, most if not all the soldier sets will yield 1-2+ pirates so you will always have someone to conquer. Tony- 502 replies
