  1. I grew up in Villach before I moved to Vienna 6 years ago. Mostly because mountains everywhere got boring after 28 years... or maybe it was the job... My family still lives in Villach and I visit once or twice a year, but not more. If I miss something it's probably watching my hometown hockey team. There's hockey in Vienna, too, but that's... different... more important now are the many toystores and three TRUs :-) Although we're thinking of moving a bit outside of Vienna (if we find a decently priced house, that is - ha ha) there's no rush since for the past few years Vienna has been among the top 4 cities in the Worldwide Quality of Living Survey (first in the EU). So we're quite happy here at the moment *sweet*
  2. My friends smile at first, but then give me tips where to find LEGO now and then, and some even gave me their old sets/bricks. Of course, the occasional joke is omnipresent. My family (including in-laws) is glad they don't have to think much about presents for me. *sweet*
  3. Wait until I tie him to the train tracks ;-)
  4. What I like most is that he managed to use a (really old) door - nice *y*
  5. Bought another 4856 on sale for less than half price. The best of the Spider-Man sets for harbor scenes...
  6. Ah, OK, thx, that explains it then... still, a nice line...

  8. That close-up of the minifig looks sooo cool... I've always liked those classic Space guys... :'-)
  9. I indeed would call it a subtheme of Town, simply because it is, every online database agrees with that :-P But if your pride feels insulted you could see it as a "link theme" between Town and Space ;-)
  10. Oh, the limit does exist. We just "don't care" if there's no reason to. With most of the members there isn't, just sometime someone thinks they have to "test" us. But, that's not the topic here ;-) Welcome to EB Riot, hope you'll enjoy your time here. Just "go with the (friendly) flow" and your age shouldn't be a problem :-)
  11. What the...?! Tone down, Capn Kirk, or that was your last post! >:-( Agreed.
  12. 8-
  13. I remember it from the catalogs, and since last year I own one. Great and fun set, "a true classic". And today's Advent Calendar sets fits it perfectly. I've wanted to mod it to 6wide but haven't gotten around to do it yet... as with my whole layout which sits there in bits and pieces...
  14. I was thinking that, too. But seeing today's set, which is excellent, it's definitely maintenance :-) That I must second *y*
  15. Seems so ;-) There will be a garbage truck and a cement mixer next year - see here...
  16. Yes, and she's married, too ;-)
  17. This is pretty high on my wanted list, but not that high *wacko* I wanted to bid cos when I found the auction yesterday it was at EUR 40.50. But when I checked this morning it was out of reach already. Unfortunately this set isn't on sale very often, this was about the second auction I saw in the last two years or so... :'-(
  18. I have to think about whether this is a compliment or an insult... :-P
  19. A flute's more like this. As for American Pie: is that a movie or something? .................................
  20. Agreed :-)
  21. That's a bit personal :-D :-D :-D I used to play the recorder when I was a kid (no, not that one - that one). Quit after a year or so, though. Sometimes I regret it cos according to my teacher I wasn't that bad and could have switched to another instrument later (preferrably piano) but what does a kid know...
  22. We got bored, and since we all share(d) the same hobby renamed our group to Eurobricks...
  23. OK, so you're an "official nerd"... :-P Seriously, congratulations :-)
  24. My wife *wub* just received a package with 369, 377, and 381 (all complete with instructions, no box) which she won on ebay last week - for me! *wub* *wub*
  25. I like your little street scene a lot, great detail *y* The gray baseplate in the third picture reminds me of a big tidal wave rolling over Manhattan like in "The Day After Tomorrow" X-D
